BlackOps2 PC will require ~15-16GB HD, depending on language and edition.

And don't ask me to raise the FOV cap. Max is 80. Thankyouverymuch.

A booming left! Did not see that one coming. RT @SteveH_: the higher the desired FOV the lower the skill. #BOOM #truth #getsome #youheardme

@pcdev Are we able to use Console with ` and lean?

@CurtisB3321 Console = no. Lean = yes.

Remember Treyarch’s promises about an unlocked FOV for Black Ops 2 and unlimited FPS? Well, it seems that won’t be the case as Treyarch’s PC Community Manager has just revealed that the max FOV will be 80 and there won’t be any option to further raise it. According to the CM, Treyarch experienced technical issues and that’s why they could not offer a higher FOV. Guess the move to the DX11 renderer was not as ideal as they were hoping to, right? It’s also ironic that Treyarch talks about technical limitations, as it’s proven that a FOV change can be easily achieved even by third-party, fan made tools.

Treyarch’s Community Manager has also revealed that there will be an FPS cap (probably of 120) on ranked dedicated server matches. This comes as a shock, as Treyarch had previously stated that the PC version would not be plagued by such a thing.

PC gamers told Treyarch’s Community Manager that a cap of a 120fps cound introduce tearing to the game, who then said that gamers with an 120Hz monitor should ‘set vsync on and run at exactly 120Hz with no tearing‘. However, and as we all know, vsync introduces input lag.

Treyarch’s Community Manager responded to that issue and said:

“You have to choose what to QQ about. Input lag, server lag, tearing, or FPS, or you can make some reasonable concessions and solve some problems for everyone in the game.”

So there you have it everyone. FOV cap, FPS lock on ranked dedicated server matches, and a possible input lag due to Vsync. Lovely stuff, right?

no reason fov to be capped at 80 other than lazyness

tunnel vision crap gives me a headache

fps 120+120Hz monitor=problems?

120fps will be fine on a 120hz monitor, as long as its over 60fps it will be smoother than on a 60hz monitor.

At least the limit will stop your gpu from working its socks off trying to render a billion fps on that crappy game engine they use.

I hear you about the FOV, but surely 80 will be enough, or almost enough for this type of game @ 1080p anyway.

Even battlefield 3 only allows up to 90 FOV and that's serious fisheye time. Personal preference i guess.

But, but, but...I want my 500-1000 FPS in-game. :P

Pretty sure you couldn't tell the difference between 75 and 125 fps with the naked eye. :D

Correction: Yesterday I said that FPS would be capped at 120 for ranked matches. The cap will actually be 200 FPS for ranked matches.

This cap is needed to prevent monster rigs from degrading dedicated server performance. Frag on, please.

Black Ops 2 features YouTube live streaming on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Activision and Treyarch announced today. The game's built-in live streaming was revealed earlier this year, but we know now it's tied to YouTube. Today's announcement only confirmed built-in live streaming for PS3 and Xbox 360, with Wii U and PC versions not included.

The launch feature lets players stream multiplayer League Play games direct from their consoles to YouTube user channels and the Call of Duty Elite service. Webcam and audio commentary feeds can also be included in the stream, while Elite integration lets viewers see the player card of whoever's streaming, as well as additional data like class loadouts and career stats.

Update: Activision has confirmed that live streaming is also available in the PC version of Black Ops 2 without the use of third-party software.

Black Ops II PC

Known Issues - We have some fixes coming, but we wanted to make you aware of these issues right away in case they affect you:

  • A crash may occur if no DLC is owned when joining on a player that is in the Nuketown 2025 lobby.
  • Having both an on-board audio device and a PCI sound card enabled at the same time may result in a crash.
  • A crash may occur if the user tries to run the game without an audio device installed.
  • Changing resolution while livestreaming may result in a crash.
  • When viewing a film as a party, users may get a crash if the party leader leaves while the film is buffering.
  • Loading Movies might not play if a user unplugs a USB audio output device after the game has launched.
  • Users may lose functionality after locking their PC while a loading movie is playing
  • A steam error may appear after selecting update when prompted with a “Game Settings Have Changed” message. Launching the game again will resolve this.

Happy Fragging!

Odd part about

Game is rated 17+ Mature. I think most 17 year olds won't be scared for life by a few "foul" words :P
