Well, I hope you get an answer soon Diesel, I'm waiting three days now and still nothing. I uninstalled the G15 drivers but that wasn't no solution either for me. Tried updating my ATI-drivers but that gave me another MAJOR problem that I'm still trying to fix on that PC right now: an error message saying: DirectX detected an unrecoverable error... I got so frustrated in the end that I installed everything new but that message still comes up, so really everything's pretty messed up right now and that all only because of 1 PB-message saying 'Disallowed program/driver [90042]'... Otherwise I wouldn't have altered anything on my PC, because: 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' is a slogan I always put into practice. Needless to say that I hate cheaters too (that's why we're streaming to pbbans) but right now I'm really starting to (hate is not the right word, but maybe 'dislike' is friendlier) the PB-program/driver/software/not-responding helpdesk too... :angry: :rolleyes:

True, I filled out my ticket and waiting for an answer. At the same time I'm reading all kinds of forums also in German and they said that a lot of players used the G15 gaming keyboard. I also did that on that PC, not now anymore, but the drivers are still on it. PB saw the macro's on that keyboard as a possible hack. Don't know if that'll fix it, but goigf to uninstall these drivers as they are no use anymore and will let you know if that solves it.

Well, I doubt that the internet connection is the problem. I ahve two PC's here. One Vista and one XP, with both legitimate copies of COD4, so two different key codes. I use one (AlphaW0lf) for playing and one (WatchDog) for speccing for campers. The WatchDog / XP machine i giving me the problem with 90042. The Vista machine is still working fine. On the XP machine I use AVG as AV, on the Vista I use NOD32. I shut down ALL AVG-processes, but to no good. Like I already mentioned, I didnt install any programs in these few hours, an thougt I had the solution by setting a restore point of a few days ago: no good. Going to fill in a form right now.

Thanks Fozzer. Luckily I got COD4 working again now and put my player profile back again so I didnt lose my level. Still the problem is there, so I will open up atroubleticket now. My attitude is a bit milder now COD4 is working again :) Thanks and keep you posted all.

Good! A clear reply, thank you very much at first! But... what would you recommend then? I tried installing the new drivers: causing DirectX issues. So I deleted the new drivers, put the old ones back, installed the DirectX on the COD4 DVD but still when I fire up COD4 it says: DirectX: unrecoverable error. I wish I had never installed those new drivers... So now I'm uninstalling COD4 and installing it back again with the DirectX from the DVD and hjope this works to get COD4 working again, but then... I guess PB will still detect the Video/Program issue failure 90042. What else can I do if this is not a global GUID-ban (although I doubt it because I cant join other servers than my own either)

I havent send them anyhthing yet. I tried to update my drivers but this is bringing me problems with DirectX... Trying to uninstall these new drivers this evening and putting the old ones in place again. See what works... [sarcasm] Thanks PB! [/sarcasm] [AK]AlphaW0lf

Tnx all for your help and suggestions. The last post with the webtool is the one that did it although I kept my configuration the same as mentioned in my first post and the add-on in my second post. I then used the webtool and it worked. In the meantime I got a very comprehensive cvarlist from another clanleader and that is put into our pb-folder also, so everything works fine now and thanks to him even better and more diligent. Again: tnx!

Already did it by putting it in /.callofduty4/pb/ and it seems to work now :) The lines are visible only pbbans is still saying we're not streaming but I guess that's because of the update every two hours, so I'll just wait

Hi there, since I just started to figure out how PB is working, I read all the information on pbbans and all the pdf-manuals, but nowhere is there a real answer on this question of mine. It is: in which folder do I have to put the two files pbsv.cfg and pbucon in? The manual says to put it in the root folder of PB. But is this /.callofduty4/pb/ OR /pb ? My question is therefore because I uploaded the two files to /pb and issued the command "/rcon pb_sv_restart" but then it not says: PunkBuster Client: [slot] [Type] [Mask] [Name] PunkBuster Client: 1 1 64.27.21.46 pbbanshub PunkBuster Client: End of PB UCON Profile List (1 Entry) No, it just says: PunkBuster Client: [slot] [Type] [Mask] [Name] PunkBuster Client: End of PB UCON Profile List (1 Entry) The entire second line is not there, so I guess it's not reading the information in pbcv.cfg. So, I'd like to ask you if you could give me a final answer whether to place the two files in the /.callofduty4/pb/ folder or did I do it correct and is something else wrong? Edit and update: I just read the pbsv.cfg folder in /.callofduty4/pb/ and there it only says: PB UCON Settings / Lists pb_sv_usessionlimit 0 pb_sv_ucontimeout 300 pb_sv_uconempty pb_sv_uconignoreempty pb_sv_load automessages.cfg So there is no IP-address mentioned there instead of the other pbsv.cfg file I need to upload. So does this mean that I have to replace the pbsv.cfg file in /.callofduty4/pb/ with the one I downloaded from pbbans?
