The point, here, is not was caused it.

 

The detection was from evenbalance.com, not a pbbans detection.

 

We, at pbbans elevated it, a bit, to help get it resolved, but in the end, was entirely the work of evenbalance.com on that end of things, and perhaps your post should lean more into thanking them for doing so.

 

One thing I want noted.

 

Some of you play with various versions of XP, some play with various verions of Vista, and while I've tried and tested all of them, and found them to work, can't help you, as there's no way I can install and run all of your hardware and required drivers, nor can evenbalance predict what will cause an issue with the latest silent detections.

 

This is the reason they need you to start a TT, should you run into any issue. Patience in the resolve is needed, as well as not needing to change drivers, change cd-keys, or format, so that they can work with the ticket and your initial problem in it's current state.

 

Changing anything simply makes it harder all around.

 

Patience, please, and work with them, with as much detail as possible, will give you the best results.

I did thank them in a email and trouble ticket.

 

I was just wondering if anyone knew what caused the issue. If I have something on my system that set things into motion I would like to know so I can fix it. I just didn't want the same issue to repeat itself. I'm sorry if you think I not grateful. I was just frustrated that I could not play.

I know.... I better not start complaining about the $50.00 they made me waste so I could stay playing in my clan's server.

 

If it stays working I will see you guys in the battle field. My name in game is SparkySr +EcS+ I usually hang out on S&D servers like [Lord] or SBX from 10 PM til 3 AM when not in my own clan's server. I may have been the worst at showing my flustration but I could sense it from others of you as well. Thanks for sticking together guys, I am back running my original harddrive just the way it was before this started. Nice that it wasn't in our systems, just wish they would have been more verbal about the possibility that the problem was in their system not ours.

I still would like to know what caused the problem in the first place. I would not like for this to reoccur.

Wow so there saying its something on your end? That doesn't make me feel any better. I have done a whole reinstall from a backup image and reformatted from scratch and still I am getting the error. It looks like there looking these at a case by case basis. If that's the case we could be here for a very long time... :(

Can I please get a response? It's been 4 days with no answer. This is obviously a PB problem and I would not like to buy another copy of Cod 4 to fix the problem as others have done.

PLEASE tell me what you get for an answer if any, i heard they don't seem to answer often because they are "Busy" But i have the exact problem and it seems like it was at the same time as yours too.  Never did anything to tamper with the PB but it sure gets annoying.  Anyways tell me if you get any info on it. Well they just requested my background processes. I hope they can find the culprit. I will definitely keep you posted of anymore updates. I'm having flashback's Vista 64 and Enemy Territory. They could not find a fix for me. I had to reinstall xp to get pb to play ball.

I havent send them anyhthing yet. I tried to update my drivers but this is bringing me problems with DirectX... Trying to uninstall these new drivers this evening and putting the old ones in place again.

Well, all I can say is that I have exactly the same report...

 

How the hell is this possible??? I played tonight on my own server, am an administrator and we're streaming to pbbans to keep all cheaters out. I didn't alter anything in my PC, OS, drivers or WHATEVER in these few hours between tonight and now...

 

The reply to provide as much information as possible, to me, is not very valid because I already see that it happended with an 9800GTX card as I am using a 8800GTS card with standard drivers which have not been updated for weeks or months. Mind you: like I said this night there was no problem at all!

 

And suddenly this... this is really bad and the problem can't be on the players-side and I expect a lot more problems with other players who get the same error. I hope PB will dig into this very quickly.

Same thing here. I was playing earlier in the morning then tried in the evening and POW!...error I hope they get back to me soon. I need to frag or I'll die... :)

I have the same issue... my system was working great at 5pm tonite and now at 9:30pm tonite.. I get the same error.. even with the updated PB and video drivers..

what is Punkbuster doing... what Vid card are you using...??? Me 9800gtx...
