Fans bemoaned the finale as void of creativity, and furthermore, did not deliver on the game’s central promise that your choices made along the way would affect the final outcome. But some fans went so far as to say that there was actually a legal argument to be made here, that EA/Bioware have actually falsely advertised their product. Complaints were filed with the FTC and BBB, and now, one of those bodies has actually commented on the matter. An opinion column on the Better Business Bureau website took a look at a few of the statements Bioware made when promoting the game: “Experience the beginning, middle, and end of an emotional story unlike any other, where the decisions you make completely shape your experience and outcome”. “Along the way, your choices drive powerful outcomes, including relationships with key characters, the fate of entire civilizations, and even radically different ending scenarios.”
