Piggy Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Don't know why, but ever since the EA server incident where no one could play properly, everytime I play occasionally I get "connection to server has been lost" until I restart. Then everything is fine and dandy. Anyone know how I go about fixing this? Quote
Mully Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 It can be a port issue, if you have a router, you need to make sure the proper ports are open. The ports that should be open are; UDP 27900 UDP 29900 TCP 80 - Client/Server Standard Port for GameSpy TCP 29900 TCP 29901 TCP 29900 - Server Standard Port (29920) UDP 27901 - Server Must be turned on in serversettings.con UDP 27901 - Server Must be turned on in serversettings.con UDP 27900 TCP 28910 TCP 4711 UDP 55123 UDP 55124 UDP 55125 UDP 1500-4999 UDP 16567 Quote
MonkeyFiend Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 I've had this happen if something has been thrashing the ports... for example a bit torrent client. Quote
kingrollo06 Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 I alot of people use a program called peerguardian to protect from bittorrent I know for a fact peerguardian blocks xfire through certain ports, so if your running software that stops tracking such as peerguardian does... That may be the case so you have to disable it. :) Quote
