Well realize that you have to setup your software firewall in addition to your router in order to get traffic to flow. I would try disabling your firewall then asking someone not on your network to try to connect to your server. Also make sure you are forwarding the right ports. The default is 20100, but you can change that with the net_port cvar. Your server should show up in the server list in addition to showing up in LAN.

A few quick ???'s about some pbss...
Yourself4 replied to TheGrimace's topic in Soldier of Fortune 2
as per the first one, The player is on the player's side of the wall aginst the wall. After looking at it (note how not all of the gun is shown, an affect you will get when a player is standing aginst the wall). The other's are without a doubt a wallhack. So as metioned above 1st one, clean rest, wallhack -
The chance of that happening is alot higher, some ISPs assign new IPs as often as every day, so at any given time there is a very good chance that the cheater's IP is in use by someone on that network. Wether that user plays ET or not and will try to connect to your server is another issue entirely however. Thus single IP bans, in addition to being ineffective, have a decent chance of banning innocent people. If you really want to ban someone you will have to ban their entire subnet and then any proxys that they may use to connect to your server.

Why edit the guid out? There is no known way to reverse generate it according to EB.
-
Why is it no longer bannable?

You would not get on MBI unless the violation is guinue. That's the reason the log data is streamed, so you can't make stuff up.

Soldier of Fortune II Authentication Server Disabled
Yourself4 replied to MaydaX's topic in Soldier of Fortune 2
Keep in mind there is very little incentive to do anything but continue what already exists for the game. They are not selling new copies and, thus, are not making more money. So no more money = no more features, plus the fact that there are so many new games out there, why would you want to change anything in sof? Also it makes perfect sense that PBBans would dump support once PB does. The entire thing revolves around the ability to attain, without any doubt, unedited log data. That coupled with the fact that PB GUIDs are different from Raven GUIDs, means the ban list would be worthless, and there would be no way to add more bans to the system. The only thing that might be useful (I don't really know about the internals of what goes on in the PBBans software, just making guesses) is the Master Player Index (MPI) 3, and that would be limited because of the inability to gather PB generated GUIDs. As for the Cvar checks, it is way to impractical to go through all the checks with the /adm cvarcheck command, and the md5 checks, a mod would have to be coded for those to be of any value. -
http://www.pbbans.com/mbi.php Click generate ban list. Then put all your bans into the form.

err pb doesn't want to enable on 66.55.149.185:20500 , usually we have it on :P. -
You can record a demo at any time while you are playing the game. A demo is basicly the connection data between the game client and server. However, rather than having all the data (e.g. all the players on a map as you would normally when playing on a server) it omits some of the data storing what is locally around you. This means that due to the constraints on the data and it is impossable to record someone across the map while playing. You would only be able to view that player when that player came into the limited area of the demo. If you are trying to spot a cheater that would be next to impossable to do based on your perspective. You can however, with a demo viewing mod called refrag, do things like switch from third to first person, rewind, and watch the demo in a freeview camera view though you will only be able to view the players in the area which data was recorded for the demo. You can get refrag from here http://soldieroffortune2.filefront.com/file/ReFrag;45881. An alternitive to actually having to go to spec to record a demo on a player is to ghost that player. This is a feature of RocMod, RocMod - NobleMan's Edition, or Noble-Pro mods that allows you to spec the player, but without showing up in the player's spec list (so the player doesn't know your specing him), and without you actually having to go to spec. You can ghost as long as you want before hitting the walk key again which will begin the respawn countdown, or if there is no respawn countdown, respawn you and allow you to play again. Note that this feature is only avaible for admins and above and will not work if admin is suspended or if g_allowadminghost is not set to 1.

Sry to restart this topic. I relize that it may be annoying to reread old posts. In rocmod, rocmod-noble, noble-pro, and osp (may be several others) you can record a demo or screeenshot at the beginning of each map by: cg_autodemo 1 That's it. :) Matchmode will also record a demo by default provided the server cvars are setup to make it do that, as well as a screenshot at the end of a match. As far as the bind key the console command that's IMO easier to remember is, /startrecording to start and /stoprecording to stop You can auto take a screenshot by: cg_autoscreenshot 1

To my understanding *removed* (either set to 0 or 1) controls the norecoil hack of gna bot and gna based bots. So yes it would be bannable, for if they have the norecoil hack they would have to have the gamehook loaded, therefore all they would have to do to start hackin' is set g_aim to 1 or 2 and/or g_wh to 1, and you got a aimbotter/wallhacker. That's besides the fact that they are using a norecoil hack :P.
