  1. I wouldn't joke about that with the number of devs dropping PB for VAC these days :P
  2. It's fun, I like it. I wouldn't pay $60 for it though (Friend of mine buys a lot of games and lets me use his steam account) Performance is an issue though. I get As you can see my quad core is not even being used. http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/1732/shippingpcstormgame2011.jpg Per core CPU usage is 45%, 19%, 6%, 16%. GPU is 75%. However it is a fun game, it's different and not like some other games that try to copy MW2.
  3. While the BF3 in-game teaser graphics look great, I wonder at what cost. Will you need a computer from NASA to run it at those settings. I have a gut feeling it may turn into another crysis for steep system requirements. I think if anything hurts this game it will be the higher system requirements. Wonder if any Windows XP owners pre-ordered thinking they can run it.
  4. I think it's just sad games have to resort to gimmicks such as day 1 unlocks or exclusive map packs that you have to pay for if you don't pre-order. Then those people often get suck with a buggy turd with no hope of getting their money back. Now you get punished for being a smart consumer by waiting after release day to see what the game is really like. Digital distribution methods needs a return policy option imo, even 3-7 days so that consumers don't get ripped off. Bet devs and publishers wouldn't be so fast to push a buggy game threw the door if people had the option to get their money back.
  5. Speaking of pre-order info, EA store now lists the PC price at $59.95 http://www.ebgames.com/pc/games/battlefield-3-limited-edition/90173
  6. ISO is for all 3 versions. The link now has more files so all you need is either: 64Bit windows6.1-KB976932-X64.exe 903.2MB 32Bit windows6.1-KB976932-X86.exe 537.8MB
  7. DVD image for both 32 and 64bit versions. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=c3202ce6-4056-4059-8a1b-3a9b77cdfdda
  8. As I expected, boycott signatures are starting to popup just like BF2 :P
  9. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOMI0BxB0yA http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/02/19/jerks-should-be-charged-accordingly-in-multiplayer-says-valves-gabe/ He talks about a number of topics as well such as portal 2 being pretty much done and is under the final QA etc.
  10. That and all those 50% off sales. You know something is wrong when you are pushing half off sales just a few short months after release while MW2 / CoDBO remains at $59 and still sells a ton of copies. 5 million sold but 10,000 - 20,000 plays it across all platforms. http://mohstats.com/
  11. http://www.medalofhonor.com/blog/2011/02/case-you-were-wondering%E2%80%A6 How that lackluster game sold 5 million copies is beyond me. Guess it's true that EA marketing can sell just about anything.
  12. I only paid $6 for it with my CoDBO credit. At the time there was nothing else I wanted.
  13. For me it already has died. Nothing jaw dropping was added since CoD4, just the same recycled game and engine over and over again. The bugs of CoDBO sealed the deal for me.
  14. http://gbxforums.gearboxsoftware.com/showthread.php?t=117553 Looks like another game with VAC if it has MP.

  17. It's even harder with more and more games taking the trusted provider route.
  18. This ain't good http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/107720-Report-Crysis-2-Leaked
  19. List of recent games with no public server files now include: BF Heroes, Bad Company 2, Medal of Honor 2010, BF Play4Free, and now Crysis 2. Then add CoDBO to that list with the possibility of future CoD games doing the same. Sadly the majority don't care about it so the small minority who don't buy them won't effect the profit margin by much.
  20. It does show a possible trend among EA games that no public server files will become the standard for any game they release.
