I have a i5 2500K with a 460GTX and my fps isn't much better on Win7 and it still studders with major fps drops. But I'm not installing XP to prove that one game is poorly optimized.

I'm starting to wonder if Frostbite 2 is heading towards being another Crysis in that you needed a hig end machine to even play it. BC2 @ 32 players can be quite demanding and I've read a lot that 24 players seems to run better. MoH ran even better with no destruction and 24 players max. With BF3 it's 64 players, more advanced destruction, bigger maps (I assume) and sharper graphics. Add to that DX10 or better is required. Nice to have cool things but they won't do much if it's lagging all over the place. Guess we will have to wait and see.

I had to laugh to myself when I seen "Fixed screenshots coming out solid black in some D3D9". Wonder if that coder can give EB some pointers :P

It's not a show stopper bug if you only have two SATA devices. I have 2 HDD's that I run on the SATA3 ports and one DVD drive. MSi allows for Advanced RMA in which they send you a replacements first if you have a credit card.

Why not just give people aimbots and be done with it because massive amounts of unlocks, leaderboards etc just encourages more cheating of people who want to get all the unlocks. That is a big turn off for me. I'm still annoyed with BC2 that vehicle basic functions are unlocks like armor, alt weapon and smoke counter measures. So in BF3 will I have to unlock the shell ammo for the tank or 2nd gear for the Humvee now? I think prestige mode is the best answer for both sides. People who don't care for ranks can unlock everything rather quickly while the people who do can prestige to keep them happy.

As I'm sure most of you know by now, our website and other services were offline since yesterday. It started out when our db server was bogging down and not processing queries. We stopped the server, updated the kernel and applied other updates, however the server did not reboot into the operating system. After a few hours of investigating (Rest was waiting for tech support to get off their ass), we found it was a bad stick of RAM. The server is now running on the remaining 2 sticks of ram while we look into replacing the bad stick. Streaming was also offline during this time.

BF2 Boosters, MoH Hotzone, BC2 Vietnam, MW2 Map Packs (I can't confirm since I do not own them to get a count) all split the player base. Just funny seeing people defend the pre-orders. Guess I'm one of few that remember all the "Boycott BF2SF / BF2142 until BF2 is fixed" banners and all the "fix the lag / crashing" posts. With that and after CoDBO, I will NEVER pre-order a game again. Been burned too many times.

Oh look paid DLC info before the game even gets released. If you pre-order it's free, if you didn't you have to pay extra. No wonder gaming has gone to shit.

And and to make it worse, we could have banned demos here because they are in both 1st and 3rd person. Also all servers will be ranked and anyone can host them. Stats are done through steamworks like CS Source I assume. And it supports LAN too :) Shame the only games left using PB won't even come close to the PC feature set that homefront is offering. I hope homefront succeeds and adds competition to the AAA games which have been ignoring the PC gamer in recent years. Least Kaos seems to be listening to what PC gamers want instead of telling them.
