Bitte zu allen anderen Meldungen ein Trouble Ticket öffnen! -

Please don't expect me to give out any details on how it works. You already had the list. Violations with 50000 and higher are cheats and can be banned. If someone feels he got a violation while doing nothing (-> false positive) he can open a trouble ticket.

There is no detailed list for obvious reasons. You will not even get a list or specific answer on violation codes in the ticket system.

Good luck and remember: We switched PB on for you! ;)

These kicks are when PB detects a modification of your game exe running in memory. You should run a virus/malware/spyware scan of your computer to see if anything is trying to attach itself to the running program. Also run a memory stress test to see if there is a fault there that could be causing the kick. You can find such a program on the following website: http://www.memtest86.com

Yes. Inform News-Sites, Gamingsites, Clans, your mom&dad... ;) We need feedback too!

You may want to give our new tool a try: http://websec.evenbalance.com/downloads/windows/pbsetup.exe

Please spread the news! :D

Hello, We would like to begin an open beta test of a new application for use in manually installing and/or updating PunkBuster software. "PBSetup" will allow users to install or update to the latest version of PunkBuster for one or more supported games. This program is designed to completely replace the outdated PBWEB command line utility as a more reliable, user-friendly graphical tool. Features: 1. Ability to install/update PunkBuster software for multiple supported games on an OS platform 2. Ability to correct corrupted installations of the PunkBuster software 3. Self-updating executable; you may from time to time be notified of new versions of PBSetup itself. A download and update will happen automatically. How to Install PBSetup: 1. Download a copy of PBSetup for your OS platform from the following links: http://websec.evenbalance.com/downloads/windows/pbsetup.exe http://websec.evenbalance.com/downloads/linux/pbsetup.run http://websec.evenbalance.com/downloads/mac/pbsetup.tgz 2. Place the file in an appropriate directory: a. For Windows - Create a directory like "C:\Program Files\PBSetup" and move pbsetup.exe to this location. b. For Linux - Create a directory in your home directory called "PBSetup" and move pbsetup.run to this location. c. For Mac - Unarchive the file to your Desktop (this should happen automatically) 3. Run PBSetup: a. For Windows - Create a desktop shortcut to pbsetup.exe from where you downloaded and then double click on the icon. b. For Linux - Change to the PBSetup directory. Type "chmod +x pbsetup.run", then "./pbsetup.run". c. For Mac - If the archive expanded correctly in your Desktop folder, you should have a "pbsetup.run" application link; double click this. For Support: Please communicate directly with our staff using our web trouble-ticket system for any issues related to PBSetup: http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=...hp&game=pbsetup In addition, be aware that PBSetup attempts to locate the installation directory of any game automatically. It does this using a series of "game hints". The "game hints" can be registry entries, hardcoded directories, or system environment variables. Although PBSetup currently detects the game installation paths well, there is a chance that we've missed some locations. If you find that PBSetup does not automatically find your game installation, please fill out a trouble ticket and let us know. Please include the game, your OS, and the complete path to your PB folder.

General hint: If you are getting full lockups of the computer when entering a PB enabled Server, do the following: - check if it happens on non-PB server - check for latest graphics driver - check for latest chipset driver - if you have a SATA controller - see below nForce4-Board: nForce4-Users getting a freeze or lockup when joining a server should make sure they install up-to-date nForce drivers (the original drivers for nForce4 are known to cause problems). http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_nf4_wi...2_amd_6.66.html SiS 96x Chipset + SATA: Installing http://driver3.sis.com/raid/raid303.zip fixes the issue. Silicon Image Sil 3x12A SATA RAID: Installing this driver will fix the issue. Note that it is just for RAID controller. ULi 1695 Chipset: Intalling this driver will fix the issue. SATA controller: Check what SATA controller was built into your system. Check on the controller manufacturers website for updated drivers (especially WHQL drivers). If none was found check the chipset manufacturers website for such a driver, after that check the mainboards manufacturers website. If no success at all these places do the following: Delete the driver in the device manager. Let windows find the driver and let it search for a capable driver at "windows update". It should find a WHQL certified driver now. That should work. Also, close all other programs (especially debuggers both user mode and kernel), they could be interfering with PB. If you find a solution that is not listed here let us know in the Trouble Ticket System here.

Saturday 01.15.2005 [4:00PM] We have reworked the PB Server netcode and produced a test PB Server binary v1.125 for linux. The goal is to address network I/O problems with PB packets which cause many negative symptoms (primarily "losing key packets" kicking). Linux server admins who wish to test this beta PB Server binary can get it from our website at http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=...support-bfv.php. Please let us know via our new support ticket system how this version works on your linux servers. Pending feedback, the new netcode will be optionally available for all platforms upon the next PB Server update release. Please visit our site at http://www.evenbalance.com for more information.
