  1. As Benway said, the only part that gets an F is Akamai, the ads/spam-distribution network. It holds none of your relevant information, thus there's nothing to fear.

    As far as I know they do far more than spam, a large chunk of enterprise level customer facing websites sit behind one CDN or another.

     

    Doesn't this website use cloudflare? Same business model no?

  2. you can grab any of the xml feeds, and do whatever from there.

    Their latest 25, 50 ban xml feeds are pretty standard.

    For instance, we take our team's bans, and rebuild a MBi like page on our website from one xml file. [FLOT Server Bans]


    We also have the rss feed of cheaters caught on our servers auto posted with the functionality built into vbulletin to automatically post feeds.

  3. It means they haven't been seen on a streaming server. Playing information is gathered from servers that stream, not just those that have PB enabled. You are doing a disservice to yourself and your own efforts by not streaming.

     

     

    If the player population declines from streaming you'll be able to check the kick/ban logs and see why, and for good reason why a player is kicked. (Enforced ban)

     

    You should stream your server ASAP, especially for a game such as cod4 which had one of the largest MBi records...

  4. Smartest thing I heard in a long time. "WE ARE NOW UNDER A CONTENT LOCK" - 3 months out they are working on balancing and making sure game works WELL!  Unlike Dice excuse of well we QA tested game but then they make a change and we don't have enough time to retest everything lol BS.  This game should be a success with a solid WORKING release despite EA's involvement lol. Surely EA will find a way to jack this up over the future years.

    huh?  Didn't DICE just announce the same content lock?  We're not working on DLC until we smooth out the kinks deal.  I feel like it's just some marketing speal that they figured would boost sales and public reception. Just pitching this to save face, and now every developer is going to supposedly enter a "content lock".  Please, stop being spoon fed.

  5. Always laugh at people that thought it would be any other way.  The next BF will be the exact same way, to expect different is fooling yourself.   I enjoy the game immensely, just wish I had more time to play it.

    How does the server differentiate between a pb_sv_kick issued from the hub and PB running on the server?

     

    or they on an alias or slot #, from your sample flow it looks like the hub goes by an alias and PB goes by a slot number, Before we all throw our hands up can a little more testing be done.

    That is one reason why I did not buy BF4. For EA/DICE to screw the communities like this is completely ridiculous. That's what happens when a company would rather impress shareholders than listen to their customers.

     

    Now I know why Valve is still #1. They at least listen to their customers.

    You guys should calm down.  That is some user made blog post with ranting and a sensational headline.  Might as well be in a 711 checkout line.

     

    I was surprised to see Kalms still posting at FPSadmins, because that place is dead as a door nail.  They are still active in the community, no matter how much server admins are butthurt that they can't yell spam people.

  8. not sure. My tests on official mode found pb commands are the same as ranked. Who knows if that will change.

    Hmmm, are you finding that violation kicking is off?  When I enable it, it'll turn off again.

     

    I still see that PB kicking is off...

    So I hope you guys are looking at the streamed logs, because as far as I can tell even if someone is detected day one, we won't know it until Evenbalance flips a switch.

    If I leave my server set to "Official"

    Can ppbans kick players for prior violations, or keep them from joining the game?

    Or do I have to change it to Ranked?

    If it is something we need to test I volunteer my server.

    As far as I can tell, PB can run but it will not kick for violations.   I will continually spit out that violation kicks are disabled as per the master server, which is good because most users will throw a COMFAIL #133, and won't be kicked.  Think someone still needs to throw a switch.
