I need some help about gamehook.

a member from our clan is perm baned from Clan Base in case of gamehook violacion.It is been detected on our server, his ip and guid are correct.

We dont know what it is...or how it can be solved.

Anyone got any idea??

that is a valid PB violation and if your server would have been streaming to PBBans, would have ended up on our MBI.

 

Game Hooks occur when cheats are found outside of the normal game folder. EvenBalance will not give you specifics on what caused your clan mates violation. I would say he is out a copy of SoF2.

We are not CB and choose not to involve ourselves in any issue relating to them.

 

On a side note, that is a valid PB violation and if your server would have been streaming to PBBans, would have ended up on our Master Ban Index (MBI).

 

Game Hooks occur when cheats are found outside of the normal game folder.  EvenBalance will not give you specifics on what caused your clan mates violation.  I would say he is out a copy of SoF2.

Sorry but what does that helps us?? nothing? We are possitive that there is NO cheat on the comp!! He played yesterday on our server for 3 hours with the same configuration and not get kicked?? (same server config)

Maybe just a leak in PB file search? (file related stuff)

Yeah well the thing with Game Hook kicks is...It doesnt matter that theres no cheat on the computer NOW...Its the result of a series of violations under the same GUID, logged by Punkbuster when your clan mate cheated in the past on PB enabled servers.

 

He should be thankful he's been able to get away with it for so long.

He was kicked because PB detected a cheat. He can get back on your server now because the hack was removed and you guys aren't using an updated banlist.

Okay thx 4 the info m8......we try to sort it out with evenbalnce...still shame nobody can tell us what gamehook realy means/is....i mean in witch folders/files we have to look...anyway thx 4 efford.

To look for what?

You can look all day, find NOTHING and still get kicked for Game Hook. 

It is based on past violations linked to the GUID.

 

That and client hooks, i wont explain it more as it could be complicated, but if your sure about this fellow go to evenbalance.com and raise a ticket

no cheat dection system built yet actually detects cheats ....... its not possible.

 

all they do is look and find eveidence of cheats ...

 

thus they issue a ban for it.

 

 

the gamehook bans result for a player been found with evidence of a possible cheat over a quiet large period of time.

 

 

its not impossible for a gamehook violation to be flase it is still highly unlikely.

 

 

all i would recommend is get the player involved actually involved with getting him self cleared .

 

i know i dont ( and imagin evenbalance dont either ) respond well to clan members ,delling with another clan members claim , if hes really concernd about getting cleared and has nothing to hide , its way way more authentic if the player does it himself.

another helpful suggestion.........

 

if your trying to convince a group of people that you(or your friend ) isnt guilty of what they are charged for , its isnt advised to start getting angry .....and posting lots of ! @ #$! , no matter how valid your point it is instantly dismissed because of the way its written.

 

after all if the only evidence you have is your word .....you sure better come across as a guy who people can trust his word.

what do you mean by no such thing on that pc? game hook from what i understand. It does not matter if there is something on the pc now at some point there was, and if this is a member of your clan how can you be sure really. How many other members have you had a problem like this with? none i bet. So my sugestion to you would be to 1 wait and see if you get a reply back from eb in the next couple of day. if not just replace the game with a new copy. save you a lot of trobble. plus the game is very cheap. new game fresh start. I know most people would at least want an explantion before going out and purchasing a new game, but this game hook issue is very hush hush for a reason. remember this is only my opinion so check back on this as other view it as well.

I will tell you what a gamehook is as long as its cool with the admins of this site. I am fairly new to posting here (not reading) so i will wait for an ok before i post. I dont know why it would be huss hush but incase it is i will wait.

 

P.S. and for the record a gamehook is a valid CHEAT detection...

OMG, ok plain english.

 

Game hook = valid PB Kick

Valid PB Kick = Cheat used now\past\whenever

Cheat = :9: got banned

 

 

Fraps = Tool for recording from dm_2004 to wmv files, been using ages an no kick for me

 

 

 

U know your team mate personally?? U have been to his house and looked over computer??? How long does it take for u to get to his house? Deletion of files usually takes 1 second, so even if u live in same house you r trusting his word over a PB Violation??????

 

 

Please, contact EB, contact CB, but as far as i concerned, PB Violation = :banhim:

A "game hook ban" is a detection by punkbuster that looks into certain memory addresses of the resident program (in this case sof2) and can tell whether or not an outside program has hooked into the "Soldier of Fortune II" window. Yes just like your gay porn sites Sof2 runs in a window on Windows machines. Each window is assigned a name and therefore can be hooked into with a dll file program. hense, pb started scanning the sof2 folder for files that didnt belong like somethingbad.dll. but the hackers got smart and now it has to detect it through the memory addresses...

 

hate to tell you mate but he had a cheat on his pc at the time of the kick...

Pick your friends and Battles wisely

Do not defend someone, when you can not 100% verfy that they do not cheat.

I mean in the end you are just going to drag your name into the mud by standing up for a cheating punk and he is just going to stand up and laugh because you were dumb enough ot come here standing up for him, when the whole time he had the cheat.

Doesnt anyone think it strange that soooo many people are suddenly are getting kicked for gamehook violations? There seems to be a rash of them in a few different games. Usually I see a lot of MD5tool some multi and some aimbot but rarely gamehook, possibly an evenbalance fubar?
