i have a cable connection as well.

 

i did have to get them to replace my modem and cables because it would just randomly lose connection

 

it took me calling them and having them check my status every time it happened over a 10 day period

 

i stopped rebooting the modem and PC

 

i would just call customer service every single time

 

finally they sent out a tech

 

he ran new cable from the street and replaced my modem

 

haven't had a problem since
