MicroViper Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 I'm trying to get a little more information about the "Generic BIND Scan" ban. I was in server when a player was removed for that violation. This type of ban: http://www.pbbans.com/mbi-viewban-68e09317-vb104971.html I see in the evidence where it says "KEY_F12 = _toggle_hack" and I assume this was the issue. However, what is _toggle_hack? I assume it takes more then just naming a bind with the word hack in it to catch a ban. If you have any factual knowledge on this ban type please share. MV
Ice Man Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 yes we do have factual knowledge that its from a known cheat otherwise it wouldn't be a bannable offense. We will not share which cheat it was from but we do have it in our system. -Dan
MaydaX Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 This ban type (Generic BIND Scan) was created by PBBans so you won't find it anywhere else. It scans a users binds for cheat related cvars. PBBans Cheat/Hack Violations: The following are violations that are unique to PBBans only. Generic CVAR Scan (GCS) - Partial or full match of a cheat CVAR. Generic BIND Scan (GBS) - Cheat CVAR found in players key bindings. MD5 Cheat File Match (CFM) - MD5 signature match to a known cheat file. http://www.pbbans.com/info-center-pbviols.html
