There is a new Steam client beta update where you can now disable DLC for any game in the DLC properties area.

I disabled the DLC for MW2 and now there are a lot of lobbies to go into. lol
To do this, right click on the game in your library > click on properties > click on DLC tab > then either check or uncheck the "Enabled" area of the DLC for the game.
I checked the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office website and it has a bunch of listings for Call of Duty, but this one caught my eye:
