Call of Duty: Black Ops is a steam exclusive game like MW2, which utilizes VAC.

I have a feeling this game will be going the same route Crysis did. All I can hope for is that BF3 and BF1943 are not like this game. BTW, what ever happened to BF1943 PC?? I tried the beta and did not like it. To me, it is an expansion pack, or mod, for BC2. There is no real differences except smaller maps and less slots.

I checked my server today and I see it finally filled up with players. Hopefully the players like it. We'll see how long this lasts. :)

For some reason, I knew DICE was going to lower the slot count even more. We need more slots and larger maps like in BF2142, not less slots and smaller maps!!! Soon, the maps will be no larger than shipment on COD4. That's pathetic, IMO.

I see two scenarios that would happen with this argument. 1. Microsoft would take a huge hit from customers as they would not buy any MS product from them again. Plus, MS would be sued by many people to set an example of the corrupt organization. 2. If this were to go through, then even congressional leaders would have their emails and internet traced as well and they would not be for that. But, knowing them they would put a clause in it to exempt gov't officials. But, that would not last long because voters would remove these politicians at the next election and put in people to repeal it. So, either way, there would be major legal issues that resonate from this and it would be deemed unconstitutional by a federal judge almost immediately. This is a major rights violation. It would violate privacy laws, free speech laws, freedom of choice laws, etc. Congress would not do this as it would be a major disaster both politically and economically.

I will not be buying the game either. Until DICE starts making games more like BF1942, BFV, BF2 and BF2142, I will stick with the COD series. These newer BF games are not what I expected. This new game engine does not cut it for me. There is too much lag, the maps are too small, players' hit registry is way off, the game is not stable, the exploits are still there after several patches and then environment is too crowded. If frostbite 2 is the same way, then I foresee EA losing ground in the PC gaming market in the near future. The only good thing EA/DICE has done so far is keep using Punkbuster. But, with today's game manufacturers wanting more protections for their games, (i.e. platforms like steam to protect client side files and to fight piracy, trusted providers and server files to be locked down), then I see doom in the near future. I have been gaming for over 10 years now and these companies are moving "WAY" too fast by wanting to use the latest technologies. It seems these game manufacturers are more interested in keeping their games secure rather than making good quality games. To me, that is just ridiculous. I miss the good old days when I would go in a 64 slot BF2 server and not lag at all and have a great time with my clan at the time. Now, I go into a 32 slot BC2 server and all I want to do is leave because I can't hit anything or move without lagging. I now see that quality went right out the window with these newer games. I actually believe that if DICE goes backward rather than forward by using older games as close reference tools, then they might save the PC gaming market. But, I don't see that happening...ever. :doomed:

Are you using steam at all? If so, turn off the overlay by clicking on steam settings > In-Game > Uncheck the box next to "Enable Steam Community In-Game" and save. This is what was kicking me in that game also until I turned it off.
