We suspended new violations for Aimbot #50074 in Call of Duty 2 a few days ago and removed all bans where the alias ended with a space followed by an "s" because it triggers the violation without using a cheat. Even Balance is aware of the issue and currently looking into it. 18 Call of Duty 2 Bans have been removed from the MBI and unban commands sent out on Aug 21, 2011 for hub streaming servers.
For anyone interested there is a lengthly discussion in support for releasing unranked server files.

After looking at the prices I'm even more happy that other games have not opted into a "only trusted provider" policy. Competition is a wonderful thing.
Also going around that TDM is limited to 24 players max. If it turns out to be true then that's a big disappointment for me.
Technically Black Ops copied EA and added their own twist. It was the first COD to use a trusted providers system but seems that policy has been reversed for MW3.
"Host them where you want, control settings and standard matchmaking, just like MW1"
CoD4 is one of the best games we support (PB wise). Full PB integration, demos and access to server files. I hope they add PB again honestly because I'm sick of the new games with no server files of any kind with bullsh*t reasons and games that don't even integrate PB correctly at all. /end rant :P
Public server files alone won't make MW3 PC a hit but it's one step in making other devs realize they are running out of excuses with one of the biggest games reversing it's server policy from only one provider to letting anyone host.
Well if they have internet yes. Not sure if they will have a true LAN option that doesn't require the internet.
After all the RSP crap from EA and Black Ops, I'm just happy to see a major game returning to it's roots for this.
