Sad when selling another game comes before making a better product. EA treats them as demos more than betas. One company that offers public betas available to anyone without any commitment is Microsoft. Imagine if MS said "Pre-order Windows 7 and get access to the beta." or "Pre-order Windows Vista to gain access to the Windows 7 beta due out within 2 years". Isn't the limited edition only available for pre-orders and not available once the game ships? If so it's just another marketing ploy to get people buying the game before seeing it. Public betas are being used to sell games when they should be used to find bugs. They should not require people buying other games to gain access. How long before it goes the MW2 route offering toys like night vision goggles.

Actually CoD never had public server files. The ability to run a server was included in the client which is why you have to upload gigs of data to run a server where other games that have server files the files usually are much smaller. The reason for no files is security reason in BC2 / MoH is security reasons which also means they won't release any server code in the client to make onslaught P2P for example. Just looking at a possible trend with Activision developers that have used PB in the past who have now switched to VAC. IW for MW2 and Splash Damage for Brink have done it so far. Also depends on how much server administration knowledge you have. It's often cheaper to rent directly from the data center than from a gsp but you need to upload and acquire the game files yourself. Also have to look at what games you want. If you want any Battlefield ranked you will have to rent from a rsp who will lock the box down quite a bit.

Sadly you could replace MW2 with MoH for some points like the rewards campers with kill strikes (score chains in moh) and buggy multi-player.

If I recall at least 2 rsps got breached a few times. One no longer offers any battlefield games and the other still does.

I think hell will freeze over first before they will co-operate with us. We have tried many times over the years but it never ends well. We care more about making life difficult for cheaters than who uses our PUBLIC ban lists. Our goal is to stop cheaters and not have the largest banlist or the most servers. Same applies to our EBL, enforcing bans from other AC sites means cheaters have fewer places to play. And it's "ran" not "runned" :P

It's shaping up to be something worth buying unlike the rest of what's coming out.
