  1. If anyone is paranoid about their IP (external and internal) getting sent to other players than you may want to avoid playing MW2 completely: http://www.mediafire.com/file/xd0dnzynwne/IW_Security.zip
  2. Refreshing the page usually fixes that message. It's caused by the session id being expired.
  3. And the reason for no dev console: http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/12375831-post74.html
  4. BC2 is turning into a console port more and more. The PC features that define the cod series (minus mw2) are not being added to BC2 (console, mod tools, no public dedi server files) and we are under two months away from launch. Nothing like using the dev console for a quick "exit" or connect to a server by ip. Also to use rcon commands. When I played MW2 I really missed the console. I won't be buying BC2 at launch. I will be waiting for gamer reviews first.
  5. Another feature that will not be included in BC2: The dev console http://twitter.com/pekhe/status/7757917357 http://twitter.com/repi/status/7759212810 BF MW2 anyone :P
  6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUtG1ZcxrxI I think this has to be the most buggiest and exploited game I've seen for all platforms. Maybe this was all on purpose to have an excuse not to develop MW3. That "we are not having a beta" sure paid off in the end lol.
  7. For anyone interested, this is how the magic happens and how server files are used :P http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/3504/hubdev.png
  8. Update 2 We have coded the Hub to check if a GUID is verified and if so it will be banned when bannable violations are raised. If not, it will be added to the unofficial banlist.
  9. That was their own fault from the beginning. They never checked the stats coming into the master stats server. All they had to do was send the numbers of the events such as kills, deaths, ect and have the master stats server apply the point values. Add to that all the point values was located in a plain text file in every unranked server. I remember BF2 at the beginning had the unlock URL the game used that never even checked if you actually had an unlock available. Lots of people unlocked all the weapons. It was patched ofc. All they will doing is pissing of customers. IWNet was supposed to stop cheating and piracy yet it is becoming the most hacked cod game ever and is played by almost 7000 pirates. Instead of restricting files they should have found ways to secure them from being tampered. They could have md5 summed the files and sent that to the stats server with the data, if it didn't match a known version the stats get disregarded. Lots of way it could have been done.
  10. I better set you straight before this becomes nasty. The no guids reference is to our Master Player Index only and not the game itself. I have to say that cause someone is bound to read that the wrong way :P
  11. No, there will be no guids due to lack of streaming. You can use IP's but that's as far as it goes.
  12. I will post this here too which is a post I made on EA UK forums:
  13. http://blogs.battlefield.ea.com/battlefield_bad_company/archive/2010/01/07/bfbc2-pc-beta-update-fr-229-n-dice.aspx
  14. A lot of game developers think PB by itself does the job and that's as far as they look into it. They pay EvenBalance to incorporate PB and they expect them to handle the anti-cheat in the game. This is all because of ranked games and DICE has put the security of the rank system above everything else. Players whined about padding, modded servers etc and this is the price they will have to pay to have protection against it.
  15. Streaming itself is not the issue, the problem is we can't run a test server should any problems arise. We will not support a game that we can't easily debug. http://twitter.com/GordonVanDyke/status/7532322949 So I wouldn't get your hopes up.
  16. As I posted on EA forums: The problem is they are being restricted to a smaller number of GSP's for security. A lot of GSP's never got access to ranked server files so I doubt we will get them mainly because most developers think PB by itself does the job. I need to be able to run a server, ranked or unranked.
  17. That is correct. We will only offer client support like BF Heroes. Seems there is a poll about a PB master ban list at EA UK forums: http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/battlefield-bad-company-2-pc/873191-do-you-want-masterbanlist-pb.html
  18. A lot of smaller GSP's can't even get the files so I have a better chance at hitting a lotto jackpot than getting access to those files. Dice wants to keep them restricted to a select few of GSP's just like BF2 ranked and BF Heroes. People wanted ranked so now they have to live with the side effects. Guess the haters and hackers will be happier.
  19. PBBans has been working with DICE to help with PB features that sites like ours use. While there is still work to be done in regards to PB integration, PBBans will now be offering streaming support for BC2. I want to say thanks to DICE for offering their support to help make this happen. Bad Company 2 will be added to our systems upon release. Also a game based signature will be added and available for account users to select.
  20. EvenBalance has confirmed to us that 125134 is caused by a few various applications and now will trigger a restriction. They advised to lift all 125134 bans for the past month, which we already did :)
  21. And another saga of IW showing favoritism to the Xbox360 http://twitter.com/majornelson/statuses/7465986390 I guess this image is proving to be true
  22. Remember that we are the only ones that removed them atm, other ac sites still have them and most likely will wait for an EB ruling.
  23. We have lifted the Violation GAMEHOOK #125134 Bans for the last month in CoDWaW. This violation has not been deemed a false positive by EvenBalance as of yet however with the growing number of users getting this violation and one being triggered by a tweak app , we have decided to lift the bans back to Dec 2009. Also this violation is on the Hubs exempt list for the time being. We feel it's better to let a few possible cheaters go free than to keep an innocent player banned. Cheaters will get caught again. 46 Call of Duty World at War Bans have been removed from the MBi and unban commands sent out for hub streaming servers on Jan 6, 2010. UPDATE: EvenBalance has confirmed to us that #125134 is caused by a few various applications and now will trigger a restriction. They advised to lift all #125134 bans for the past month, which we already did :)
  24. From the IPB Devs So refresh and it should be fine.
