Find out if there is a specific, definate time interval between lag sessons after you first log in. If there is a definate interval (say every 3 minutes almost exactly), then compare it to the server's cvar/md5tool checking interval. I forget what the server command is for the interval.......I think it is pb_sv_sleep or something. If it matches up, then it is most likely pb causing problems.

Also, are you the only one that lags, or is it everyone on the server? If it is only you, then check simple things like your firewall if you are behind one (software one or router hardware one). It could be causing a delay in the communications between PB and you.

On the subject of weird lag can anyone explain this for me. This seems to happen every other day or so, I connect to a server enter the game lag for about 5secs and auto reconnect to the server and most of the time does the same thing as soon as i enter the game again. On the odd occasion this has happened it's happened during the game . I did post this on another forum a while ago but nobody had a clue and this issue stopped but now it's back and highly annoying :( any ideas ppl ?

When a player connects, normally depending upon the servers config settings, the server goes through lots of things to get you cleared to play. The server could have CVAR and MD5Tool settings too stringent and it could lag out the client while it is checking for the those cvars/files. I would point to the servers PB configs for the cause of the problem.

Pointing to that Bob,i think thats the cause cause every server that i have noticed that has the cfg set to check for CVAR and MD5tool too, what i mean is that they are PB knoledge ppl. :D ;)
