I have reason to believe that files where purposely deleted from our server pb folder so that it would not auto update, and the newly exposed crusher bot is being exploit on our server. problem is, is that i don't know which files they are and i can't seem to get on anyones ts to help walk me through it, and can't seen to get any help at all. i was told i should post here and hope that someone here can help me. call me, email me, reply, or message me. something. thank you all for your time and consideration. i do hope you will be able to help. i have attached a copy of a screen shot i took of what is in our pb folder. alfdoh Posted September 18, 2006 Share Posted September 18, 2006 First of all do 'rcon pb_sv_ver' to get the currently installed pb version. Here you can see the version numbers of the recently released pb versions: http://evenbalance.com/index.php If the versions do not match try pbsetup: http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php And finally start streaming to pbbans. This will grant you a forum upgrade so you can access the Master Config Index. This contains additional checks you can download and add to your server to get rid of cheaters. alfdoh Posted September 19, 2006 Share Posted September 19, 2006 Ok, i don't really know what u did .. so i just explain it step by step (one of many solutions): You connect to your server, then you open the console and type /rcon yourpassword pb_sv_ver. This should give you the current pb version: PunkBuster Server: PunkBuster Server (v1.250 | A1364 C1.274) Enabled Anyway, if all that fails, use pbsetup and if that still does not help, reinstall ET if possible(includes install of pb). Also your server is not streaming to an anti-cheat site, which we recommend. And of course we also recommend streaming to us ;) But first lets get the old pb version fixed. Please check this site and download all relevant files to your server: http://www.punkbuster.com/index.php?page=dl-et.php After that do that pb_sv_ver command again. Also, adding the streaming and updates from PBBANS HUB should be added. See the links above. They you get the cake and can eat it too! Also make sure you have PB ENABLED in your server cfg. As stated your running an old version and it doesnt seem to be updateing. Read here for more info http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php Also if you feel your server has been hijacked and thats how you lost your files...make sure your server version is 2.60b version 2.60 has some security flaws.
