when you say "local bans" , are you talking about the ones we do using " !ban bla bla spawnkilling " ? its just i'd have thought they would be kept seperate as thats not a hack . damn i really need to study more on my admin lol. and is the pbban.dat on my server auto-updated by itself ?

well ive just been going to the Master Ban Index (MBI) section . doing " generate banlist " . which seem s to indicate i'm not contributing , although that probably means the ones i see from my server in the "recent bans" section are already included . i then click on "download masterlist" and go into my FTP and just overwrite the pbbans dat file withthe updated one. and then just leave it till the following day to do the same thing again.. havn't done the /pb_sv_loadbanlist command at all . i'm i doing it wrong ?

a topic of conversation has come up in the etpub forums where someone mentioned "server" hunkmeg allocation . now i was aware of client side allocation but not server side. i've asked my server provider what i'm running at atm. i'm running a 40 slot server . if i find out i'm running a lower hunkmeg rating than what is recommended would raising it make a BIG difference ? the link that was supplied on the etpub forums was to a Jolt.co.uk site ...... so Fozzer you should now about this already and be able to comment ;) :lol: http://www.rtcw.jolt.co.uk/content/enemy_t...verstartup.html any advice would be great Fozzer :) ( or anyone for that matter )

ive had packet loss complaints from one of my members. not been on the server since thursday as ive been on a drinking session :P has this problem been fixed ???

wouldn't his server auto-update the new pb-version tho ?

well i already have the 25000 setting. will check the others later. don't have access from work :)

thanks for that post fozzer ;) just to clarify... if i get that problem on my other pc ( and ive gone back to my good one and it works perfect , no setting change at all, go figure ) , i type in console :- pb_sv_cvar rate IN 2500 25000 but i adjust the 1st one to 5000 if i have a good connection ( adsl ) ?

we don't all play etpro you know ;) mine is an etpub server :P and i know about the forcecvar thing. i have a drawfoliage setting on radar ;) it's just i havn't got one for rate. which is why i assumed it was a pbbans setting when it was all set-up

its not from pbbans ??? hmm never had anything come up ever until i started streaming and had all the cvars installed. not that i'm complaining, as its caught 1 cheat already :)

so its not an important check then ? i've just left it as it was set up by fozzer . which i assume is the basic setting by pbbans :huh: but that baffles me why its on one pc and not the other

dont know why i'm getting this as my other pc is working fine. when i log onto my server and check the cvar lists in console i'm getting 1 violation :- Punkbuster Client : rate "40000" : mut be between 10000 and 25000 : violation now i both pc's set-up the same way , apart from the fact one is more powerfull than the other. this is happening on my not so good pc :) how do i fix that ??? i've not tampered with any setting so can't work it out :huh: the pc's are not linked in any way..... i just swapped them around

i think these people just come on this site to check who streaming and visit the new servers to see if they can beat the system ;) only got the 1 so far. we do get busy periods , just not all day. damn i want more people busted.......makes me feel so much better :)

lol you train ?? :blink: i just play :) the day i start training for a game is the day i give up gaming. i play for fun... gets annoying when i'm owned sometimes, but in this to mostly enjoy. i was on my own server last night ( enemy territory ) plsying the falcon map as axis. was 10 v 10 at the time and we were completely dominating. during that particualer session i was " in the zone" which is getting infrequent in my advancing years ( 32 now :( ) . i was hs all over the place . ended the map with something like 85 kills and 150+ hs . ive had more kills but that was my record for hs. now nobody accused me of cheating . and seeing as i'm the one paying for the whole set-up it would be rediculous for me to cheat as i'd be banned from my own server lol. but looking at a hs total can be misleading. have to spec the guy to see how the hs are being got. a nice high ground where your victims come past you is fairly easy to get hs . but if some guys just walking around corners and getting hs against a few guys then its abit dubious. never use the stats as your first proof........always look how someone gets them B)

:blink: :blink: don't know why, but my server has diappeared totally from the MSI. i'd been put on by fozzer yesterday . woke up this moring and i seem to have disappeared totally. i did do a cfg change late 2am . but that was just changing my passwords and adding etpro hitsounds in the cfg. don't know whats wrong . can anyone help me ???
