Would suggest you find a server to play on that is hosted with admins, then. Nothing we can do, if we do not have streamed evidence.

Game bug, sadly no fix yet from IW on this particular issue. You can try using refresh a few times in a row. No other fix for it.

Demo's will not get someone globally banned. Only EvenBalance issues global-hardware bans. Not to be confused with PBBans. We do ban based on demo's submitted once your servers are streaming, and the demo's will be reviewed by our demo-review panel. To stream, you need pb enabled on your server, which is a simple server setting. pb_sv_enable 1 in your server.cfg file Running your server in sv_pure 1 is highly recommended. Additional help with COD4, due to some issues with guid_relax reverting to a setting of 7 on it's own(recommended is 0) Run an additional task in your pbsv.cfg file to force it back to 0 pb_sv_task 1 60 "pb_sv_guidrelax 0 Some admin increase the time, but I've found that 60 seconds is more proficient. Checking my own server logs, the server still reverts to 7 for a brief second or two with tasking set as above.

Download pbsetup.exe from www.evenbalance.com. In your game's install folder, name your current pb folder pb_old, and then create a new pb folder simply named pb (lower-case letters). Then slide the pbsetup.exe file into it, and run it. It will re-create your pb-files from scratch.

We aim to please, here. Part of the quality in our slogan is to be pro-active and to be helpful. Once you get that dedi-box of yours up and streaming, we should be able to wrap things up. :)

I'd guess that a server would have to run in impure mode for a skinpack to work client-side only, or on a mod of somekind as part of the mod so that it is server-sided. Running in pure works for server-sided mods only.

PM sent. I look forward to hearing from you. :)

The damage is done. ;) Glad to have ya with us as well, and the more, the merrier. More SGA's, more leagues that take on Zero-Tolerance, and better gaming for us all, at the end of the day.

That message is explained in here. The server is cracked, meaning it allows anyone with a cracked, downloaded "free version" of the game as well as those with legitimate cd-key's to join. If this is your server, you need to stop running it and rent a retail server from a known gameserver rental company, as well as alter your server settings so that only retail copies of the game with bought and paid for cd-keys can join it.

I appreciate the cause, but won't vote because someone asks me too. I'll vote on what I feel is right. No offence meant, but fixing a contest just doesn't bode well with me.

Gaining server traffic is generally an up-hill challenge. I find that if I pm a few buds on x-fire, and jump on my own server, it rarely takes long to get a decent game going. Personally, I like smaller servers, and only run 16 slots for mine because I find the 32 slot servers rediculously chaotic. There are times where that is fine, but 16 slots and tactical-gaming are more my thing. You might give this site a try to see if you can change anything to give you a better edge on showing up on the master server list, as well. http://www.anarchic-x.com/cod4master/cod4_server_audit.php

cant get access to pbss folder :(
RoadWarrior replied to awormwithagun's topic in General Discussions
Giving them the benefit of the doubt, perhaps explain to them the why in reasonable detail. Given the nature of BF2 servers and ranking, not much in the way of access is generally granted to them to begin with. If you explain that you stream to pbbans.com and need access to the screen-shots taken by the configs, they will likely grant that to you. Most hosts do not seem to have much of an issue when they learn the why. It's a simple permission-change on their end. -
Failed shots can happen for a number of reasons. Client/pb communication interruption can be one reason. Another might be the simple timing of when your ss was taken. For example, you've just joined the server, pb is sending it's queries, validating your guid, etc and at the same time, the server is attempting to capture an ss of you. I use Vista 32-bit Ultimate, and currently run the latest Beta drivers from Nvidia, and get returned pbss with no problems. Drivers may or may not solve your issue, but either way, black/failed ss are not bannable as they do not prove anything one way or another.

User Permissions Problem
RoadWarrior replied to uniqueclan's topic in Streaming Questions and Troubleshooting
For future reference. Add the new server first, and then set the old server to "old server" or delete it. If you delete the server first, if it's your only one, your forum account gets demoted to regular user. If you get your new server up and streaming first, this problem is avoided. -
Just to show off my awesome MS Paint skilz. :P The front page login has been there for some time now.

We ban based on streamed evidence from a streaming server that streams to us, and ban based on GUID only. The GUID is unique to the player's cd-key, and is the only accurate way to ban a player based on cheating. If you join our streaming game admin (SGA) list by applying for an account and working through the 7 rcon commands, or manual upload/edit of files as needed, you will see that many people are not able to join your current server(s). We also offer numerous other options once you are an SGA, so my advice is to get streaming, see links already posted above. We will be more than willing to help you on IRC as well, should you run into problems.

I use the Gametracker.com version. Stats are optional, but there. It works well as a server-monitor for your website as well.

Unable To Kick Players. Players Can Hide Their Names
RoadWarrior replied to armstrong82's topic in Battlefield 2142
Send e-mails to EA games regarding this. It's their own broken software that's the problem, and not related to evenbalance(pb) or pbbans, or any other anti-cheat site in existance. EA needs to create a patch that will fix their own issues regarding this and many other issues with the "Beta-Field" series of games. -
50/50 is an acceptable amount, as are 100% black if you run Vista. This is an easily re-produceable issue with Vista, which uses both DX10 and a version of DX9 for backward compatibility with older games. You might try running the game in XP SP2 compatibility mode and see if your situation improves. Simply right-click the icon, select Properties, click on the compatibility tab, and check the run as box that suits you. Also be sure to be running the game as administrator so that Vista allows full access to it. Not an end-all, but it might help some. It's an older game, using DX9, so compatibility may play a factor in the issue(guess-work there, but it's fairly logical to try).

Pfft. I personally love the Supreme Court of Canada's take on the Canadian side of this issue with the Canadian recording industry. The judge over-seeing the initial request compared copying a CD/DVD to being equal to using a photo-copier to copy a part of a book in a public library. Why make the means available to copy, if it's illegal to copy? Furthermore, he told the Canadian recording industry that he would not waste his time persuing the matter, as it would tie up the courts when many other, more important issues need to come first.

Local bans are definitely up to the server-admin/clan that makes them. In no way should those be mistaken for being on the MBI here at pbbans or any other pb-related anti-cheat site, including evenbalance themselves. Best advice, go find another server to frag on where you're not banned. There's lots of them.

New Server Not Streaming
RoadWarrior replied to SCE_Dalmantus's topic in Streaming Questions and Troubleshooting
There are reasonably priced gameservers out there for rent. Gamservers.com, MyInternetServices, and numerous others out there. Click the bar in my sig relating to COD4 servers and it will take you to the latter, and you can see what a server for your game rents for by the month. To be honest with you, you'll actually be happier in the long run by playing on a rented server as compared to a home-server. You might personally ping well to it with it being right beside you, but the average person's internet connection can't handle the required bandwidth needs to make a proper online gaming server, and your fellow players will suffer as a result. Added to which, being on a rented service will make your server more visible on the master server list, and perhaps gain you more popularity as well. I notice you're from BC, so you're probably using Telus or SHAW, as they'd be the two major players out there. Neither would be sufficient in regards to regular traffic and their bandwidth limitations. If you run a clan, you can always ask your members to help with the rental fees via a paypal donation link on your website, etc. Incidently, I'm currently paying about 24 bucks a month to have a 10-slot TeamSpeak server up alongside my 16 slot COD4 server, so that's a pretty reasonable price. Most of us spend that in a month on various frivolous things without even thinking about it. Do some googling for gameserver hosts and see what you come up with that suits you best. Run some ping-tests from the cmd box on your computer. (click start/run type in cmd, and then ping (IP address here) and hit enter. Add about 5-7 pts for a realistic in-game ping-time, or even log into some of their test IP's that are usually listed on each gameserver's site. Being from the west end of the country, you'll likely want to source out a host that has a data center located in Seattle or at the very least, somewhere on the west coast. Once you're on a rented server, definitely feel free to post back and we'll be more than happy to get you up and streaming with live protection. :) -
New Server Not Streaming
RoadWarrior replied to SCE_Dalmantus's topic in Streaming Questions and Troubleshooting
Curious. Is this server being streamed from your home internet connection? -
You'll have to discover the clan's server admin, submit the demo to them and have them submit it to us. It has to come from an SGA.
-
You could just rent a server from a reputable host. Click the link in my sig.
