Your server is added and streamng -
They actually said you are not allowed to stream to them?
-
Something tells me they didn't see this feature coming from us. We offered a new way of streaming and we are willing to put the extra work to see if it's a good solution. I don't see what the problem is, servers can stream to us using the hub while they can stream to psb using the old method. They are not doing any extra work, we are. Here is a Hub ban today: As you can see this guy was banned on all servers in the hub before he was even kicked for cheating.

Request to stream pbucon
MaydaX replied to Tiberius's topic in Streaming Questions and Troubleshooting
PB_SV_USessionLimit is the number of clients that can connect to your server at the same time. It is set to 0 by default meaning no one can connect to your server even if you setup pbucon users. -
Want to Stream a couple RTCW servers.
MaydaX replied to STA - DynoSauR's topic in Streaming Questions and Troubleshooting
Ya we noticed that with a few guid's, seems to be a glitch in the time stamp. -
Well we are ready to offer a public beta to test things out. Please post your server IP's here so we can add them to the Hub list. Follow the directions on how to stream to us using the PBBans Hub located here (for existing PBBans streamers) Please continue to use your current method of streaming to PBBans .. until we complete our testing to be sure no cheaters slip through the cracks.

Admins will see no change in this. The Hub works the same as the current rep. Also we tested the system today on the dez server. I used a fake cheat cvar check to get kicked, the moment I was kicked I was added to the MBI and all sof2 servers we have in the hub recieved a ban command to ban my guid. This is the logs of my private server that was empty when I was kicked from my public server: And this is the command when a ban appeal gets approved here at pbbans:

As some may have heard we are currently developing a new way of streaming. This method will use the recently released pbucon . It will feature live banning, live player data and more. Using the PBBans Hub will free up the current method of streaming therefore servers can stream to another rep if they please. Some leagues are requiring streaming to reps of their choice but once the PBBans Hub is operational it will no longer be an issue to stream to pbbans 100% of the time. Once a public beta begins we will offer a config that you can upload to your servers PB folder and edit your pbsv.cfg file. Then restart PB and we will do the rest. Currently game servers contact our rep to stream. With the PBBans Hub this is reversed. Our Hub will contact your server to stream to us. We will update this page with more info as the project progresses.

Not quite sure I follow what you're asking.

Alpha testing is going well, we are currently hammering out the major bugs with MySQL before we think about making a public beta. I am currently building the web control interface for the Hub. IMO this will be the way to stream in the future. So many more options avalible to us. Most importantly, using the PBBans Hub will free up the current method of streaming therefore servers can stream to another rep if they please. I know leagues are requiring streaming to reps of their choice but now it will no longer be an issue to stream to pbbans 100% of the time.

1.3 patch and streaming
MaydaX replied to dead-x//synchronize's topic in Streaming Questions and Troubleshooting
Be sure the MD5 check looks like the folowing: pb_sv_md5tool a "1.3" v mainiw_15.iwd SZ26569995 AT0 LEN2048 695751FAE36189C505213D5C2DC33568 mainly a version number a "1.3" v is needed so that it only checks that file in version 1.3, if it's a "" v then it checks for all gameversions of that file. IW changed that file in the 1.3 patch. -
Help Looking For Dedicated Gaming Server

I get the DeZ box from theplanet.com -
Addressed the PB GUID issue where players were not being assigned PB GUID's of exactly 32 characters. Let the banning begin ;)

Not a hack just an exploit that I was told about and posted info here over a year ago about it.

A serious security (buffer overrun) flaw involving PunkBuster was recently discovered and reported. This flaw affects the optional WebTool component of PunkBuster servers on all platforms and for all supported games. This flaw does not affect game players (the PunkBuster Client) nor default installations of the PunkBuster Server, only PB Server installations where the server admin configured the use of the pb_sv_httpPort setting. An attacker with knowledge of the flaw can exploit it by crashing the game server at will. New PB Server Version v1.229 which addresses the flaw began going out for all supported games via our auto-update system within a few hours of the report. Any and all PB Server admins who use the WebTool are strongly encouraged to verify that they are running version v1.229 or higher of the PB Server on all of their servers that have PunkBuster enabled. Thanks to Luigi Auriemma for discovering the vulnerability and reporting it to us in a professional manner.

I setup the rep to log any invalid bans a few months ago and to date we have 31 invalid (31 char) bans.
-
Release Notes for PB Server v1.229: we are opening up beta testing of a new remote control/logging facility called PBUCON. Admins who wish to be involved in the open beta can find more information here: PBUCON

Maybe your "friend" was one of these Now those people are lucky they had a 31 character guid therefore avoided getting added to the MBI so they get a second chance.
-
All CoD2 bans are currently invalid as the parser checks to see if a guid is 32 characters in length, because of the 31 char guid bug the parser classifies them as invalid guids and they don't get added to the MBI or MPI. The bans will remain in the system until the bug is fixed and hopefully they will stream a 32 char guid and can be tracked via IP.
