I've always said catching cheats by scanning if they are running in memory was always a losing battle as the anti-cheat needs to know what to look for. Seems SourceMod Anti-Cheat is doing things a little better by looking for the actual cheating patterns instead. Not sure how well it works but seems like a step in the right direction.
Just goes to show if devs give modders some control (like Valve did with server plugins), things may be better for everyone.
