Evenbalance has confirmed that VIOLATION (MULTIHACK) 70762 is caused by a false positive 26 Bans have been removed from the MBi and unban commands sent out for hub streaming servers on Oct 26, 2009.

Before we all say how good dice is we should make sure they are actually releasing dedicated server files to the public either being ranked or unranked. BF Heroes has dedicated files but are not released to the public forcing server admins to rent from a licensed gsp and that list for heroes isn't very big currently http://www.battlefieldheroes.com/rsp If we are forced to rent from licensed gsp's like bf heroes you can kiss any mods good bye since file access will most likely be locked down like BF2 and BF2142 is now. It's to the point in BF2/2142 that PB is a pain to setup for some GSP's. Public dedicated server files are needed imo for admins to setup match and mod servers on any box they please. They are also needed for us to add streaming support should it have PB.

Main reason was the growing number of admins who do not stream here and do not understand about banning players based on alias or ip alone. Banned players come here and say "server X has banned me because my name is in your MPi" while the caught player is actually located half way across the world. They also ban based on the players name being linked to a leaked GUID. It's a waste of resources since public users can not see alias or ip data unless it's a banned guid. That is why alias and ip are removed for public users and they are directed to use our MBi search.

Not possible, the MBi search uses ban data only while the MPi uses a much greater database. The Alias and IP searches in the MPi is available for streaming admins.

I don't think that would work. Better to have MORE players and servers in cod4 on MW2 release then fewer.

I doubt anything will change by release. IW is not gonna drop IWnet and recode the server system this close to release without seeing how well it works first. We might get dedicated servers in a future patch but who knows when that may happen.

Not sure how often VAC updates but they are delayed bans. They ban the steam account so if you cheat in one game you can no longer play any game online in your steam account that uses VAC. Least IW is using anti-cheat and not pulling another CoD2 again. I see aimbotters getting high kill streaks all the time and the game being ruined by constant AC130 fire. MW2 has far too many perks etc for my liking. Looks more like an RPG/FPS now :P

We can't calculate a dollars lost amount based on the signature count since one person can easily spam signatures. The number of canceled pre-orders will send that message loud and clear to IW. Best way is to join steam / xfire groups or even post on IW forums as that will provide a better system to prevent mass spam.
