Our payment isn't due till the first of the month, and if it isn't fixed,I know that our RSP will receive the emial before midnight cancelling 2 of them (the US based ones). The UK based one is paid for by 2 clanmembers in Europe so that'll be their decision.

We made the decision last night about our BF3 servers that if this crashing once or twice a day crap isn't fixed by New Years Eve, we'll be cancelling our servers. Its a pain in the ass to get them populated (2 64 slot and 1 40 slot server) and then see it go to wate because no one comes back after the patch. And its only since the R12 releas that this has been an issue for us...until then it was full 23 out of 24 hours a day ( I don't know how accurate they are but on the Gametracker things our Air maps server went from the mid 50s percentile to the 99th percentile in a matter of 2 weeks.) Smeone even suggested opening a BC2 server again :bigsmile3: because even that was less hassle then this.

Yeah...nice and crisp...and loads a LOT faster :D

If the ban was on a server that was streaming to PBBans then the short answer is "No" PBBans enforced bans have no expiration date.

http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/battlefield-3-completely-banned-in-iran/ With BF3 now banned in Iran, shop owners are being arrested for selling he game...but apparently there are some pirate copies doing the rounds. EA's response..."its a step forward in the fight against software piracy." The reason for the ban ? The depiction of US troops invading Tehran. So EA produces a product who'se content gets itself a ban, and the best they can come up with...instead of anything about censorship or freedom of speech or anyhing that could defend the content of its game...is basically... "heyyyy..its a step forward for the good guys in the fight against software piracy...thumbs up !!" Looks like we have them all wrong...they're not just about wringing every dollar they can out of ppl...:P :P :P :P
-
Is this the same problem from Sunday or did they go for round 2 ? I ask because my servers were streaming again yesterday but it seems for only a 2 hour window before streaming ceased again (down 22 hours and change as of now). Not complaining btw...just curious.

I don't know about other providers but Wolfservers is a great example of servers being down (for us anyway). All 3 were pre-ordered, none were working on Tuesday, then last night only our UK server was running...both US based servers were down from 4pm until way after midnight with no response to support tickets. In addition, it seems that different server locations have access to different files. The UK server gave us access to ALL the PB files that we had in BC2 but the US servers were limited to only about 5 of those files.BUT neither location has a pbsvuser.cfg for uploading the md5 scans too...very annoying. Wish they'd make up thier minds *shrugs*

Does this mean that any bans already on PBBans banlist that were marked as GGC bans are no longer in effect (and vice versa) or does this only effect any new bans that each side enacts from now on ??
-
While not intending to start a war of words or finger point.... That you choose to refer to MaydaX's actions as a "reaction" infers that there was something done on the part of GSC to respond to...so why would you say that he is starting the "war" ?? He chose, as is his and PBBans right, to restrict access to was is in effect "work product". Countless hours of work by MaydaX and the other staff of PBBans...all voluntary...went into the required programming and research that screens the servers that stream here in addition to enforcing bans from EA and (on a reciprical basis) other sites. Its PBBans banlist and they can share access with who they like...or not as the case may be. From MaydaX's account...and I see no denial from you...GSC went out of thier way to bypass his efforts to block you in an attempt to gain access to the banlist anyway...again, how is he or PBBans at fault ?? The A/C community are all supposed to be on the same side...this has a look of GSC trying to start an ego war, and I for one would hope you'd keep it in your own forums...because I'm sure we all have better things to do the troll each other picking a fight. I know I do .

Am beginning to see why Amazon has it available (in the US at least) for only $42.00 and am glad I didin't buy into all the hype like I made the mistake of doing with BC 2. The Beta was okay ( no alpha for me) and like everyone else I had my list of likes and dislikes but this release is just plain ridiculous. All I seem to see these days are posts of people saying "well I'm playing it but I don't like it because...." or phrases to that effect. If you don't like it...don't play the damn thing !!! If you made the mistake of prepaying then its your own stupid fault....when you paid you had absolutly NO GUARANTEES about what or wasn't going to bei in the game. Hell..it took up until the Beta to get minimum system requirements, and that was info we had way more lead time on with BC2. That should have been a red flag right there. If they didn't know at this late stage how it was going to perform then how many patches did you thinkit was going to take until they did or will !! And it is a late stage...by the time the Beta came out they would have been preparing/producing the packaging and cd/dvd's (which is probably the ONLY reason we got the system requirements when we did. Then all the content that we got teased with because it was from BF2 (favorite maps etc) and weapons packs that now became paid-for-addons....you could just hear the cash cow mooing in the distance. Yet the sheep kept on bleeting..."New Battlefield...new battlefield..." Yes it looked nice and pretty...but there were far more flaws/dislikes than features/likes....and rather than go through a proper Quality control system of playtesting behind closed doors, EA/DICE...for some reason known only to themselves...decided once again to take a public beating and have its product criticised in the open than release what it should have known from that BC2 debacle that its core market wanted. I say that because they want to charge for everything they can while doing the QA on the cheap...just release a flawed and disfunctional piece of software and be told by the user what needs fixed...when it should have been patently obvious to the developer to begin with. Its not like they haven't had enough feedback through BC2 about what we all wanted in the game....all the good stuff from BF2...the good stuff from BC2 (and yes, i think we can agree there was some) and the pretty grfx...oh but lose that piece of S*&^ nonsense about running in my web browser. If I'm paying $60 for the basic game then I want a standalone piece of software...not something that relies on IE/Chrome? hatever to run properly or forces me to download a webbrowser I didn't want/like to begin with. And for most of us with wouldn't take much to make us happy...for instance,as a server admin , I could forgive most of whats happening if they actually FIXED PB screenshots and threw in Battlerecorder/Spectator mode, but it looks as though thats another bubble thats been burst. Instead we just get a list of "oh thats on the to do list" and "thats in the works"...well I ca't see myself paying $42 or even $60 dollars for months of patches for content that should have been there to begin with. It wouldn't suprise me at all if I found out that theres an office in COD HQ ( never learned trhe companys name and could care less) with an intern whos sole job it is to track the critcism of the BF3 release and send out a newsletter so they can all have a good laugh.
-
Unless you stream to PBBans then theres really nothing that can be done. The only screenshots that will be accepted are Punkbuster screenshots, submitted by a server admin but you need to stream here so that the screenshots can by checked agaist server logs.. The KDR screenshot could have been the result of stats padding for all we know.

Yeah, saw that when it came up on Facebook...and it got a retty mixed reaction. And by mixed I mean all the PS3 ppl wet there pants cuz they coiuldn't cry enough tears of happiness, all the xbox ppl got mad because PS3 came out on top of them for a change and the PC crowd felt screwed over once again (the general impression being that DICE had turned its bacK on its core BF market again).
-
But with 2 months left you'd think they' at least have some kind of clue as to system requirements. Its not like they haven't told us just about everything else to do with teh game...all the nice shiny stuff that makes you go "ooohhhh" and "aaahhhh" to gloss over the fact that you may not have a good enough system to make it work. As fot testing it on older drivers...I actually like that as it looks like they are making an effort to make it playable for those that don't have the latest and greatest in gaming machines/hardware and are a few years behind ( fyi I have no idea how old those driver versions are but I'm guessing pretty old).

Server is blacklisted
kraxus187 replied to ShiZzO's topic in Streaming Questions and Troubleshooting
Its got nothing to do with your copy of the game..its to do with the IP address that you want to run the server on/from. What is the IP address ?? -
Could it be that maybe Steam realises its doesn't necassarily HAVE to do business with EA when so many other games are available through Steam. While I kind of agree with EA's stance about wanting a "download service that does not restrict our ability to connect directly with our consumers" its is entirely Steams choice in who they do business with and how they run thier service...so I can't see them changing much over just 1 game.
-
So how long before the same for the COD franchise then...for $24.99 just to undercut EA ??
-
Umm...can't you download digital copies a certain amount of time before release day anyway...you're just unable to play it (if I recall correctly) ?? So paying $25 for nothing extra then....

I'm down in NC and it never ceases to amaze me how the News/Weather treat this as some kind of new or out of the ordinary occurance. In the 12 years I've been stateside (all of them in the same state)...in fact from my very first week here back in March 1999, we've had consistant, prolonged 100 + degree Fahrenhiet temps in the Summer every year. So why should it be should big news now ?
-
Damn...didn't realise there was thet much. Can't help but wonder though...if they are throwing this much out there as an incentive to buy the game early, just how much is going to go wrong or, more to the point, just how little is actually going to be in the game when it is released.

Does that come with World Peace Fozzer ?

Only this time it brings a whole new meaning to "physician, heal thyself !!' as they have to assault and medic. With both Recon and Support providong support (as per description) and Engies playing Tank wars....its gonna be fun being a "medic". On the plus side...at least you will now be able to launch a one man assault and not have to worry about someone, hopefully, following you with med kits. All thats missing now is the best medic gun from BF2...the SA-80 !!!

Was wondering when something like this would be announced after the news of the attack on EA on Friday. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/43528863/ns/technology_and_science-games/
-
lol...yeah there is...for some reason he's supposed to be up front as Assault now though.
