RED Alec
Hi all Sorry if I sound like a bit of a noob, but I suppose in pb terms I am B) I am clan leader for our clan, and a sysop for the six servers we run. Recently we tried PB again but we cannot get rid of the lag problems. It's real brick wall stuff, and it sucks so bad that we have had to take PB off again. So, I fancy that we'll try it again on one server to begin with, and see how we go from there. We run the noble custom version of rocmod for SOF2. Anyone has any pointers, places I should visit etc that will help me reach my goal of a streaming lag free PB service on our servers, I'd be grateful to hear them. And hi to Tim, the URL in your sig got me here :D Alec

And hi to Tim, the URL in your sig got me here :D Alec Hi alec, I dont think it's PB streaming thats making you lag, i think you may have set something up wrong... I sugest you stream here at PBbans, great bunch of people here... and if you have MSN or even IRC im sure someone here with a little more knowled of setting it up than I have would be more than happy to give you a hand... just wait for a few more replies, someone with the know-how will help you out man... I steam my server here running RocMod and have no problems at all.... prehaps it has something to do wiht the Noble mod you guys are running? I played in one of your servers a few times I belive.... something like T3 speed 24/7 or something and I dont realy notice much differnce in it.... maby switch a server to normal roc and give that a try? Just a sugestion... you never know, sometimes things conflict in weird ways... has happened to me more than once ;) good luck,

Like E-Man specified to everyone on your forums,,,pb was on for a long time with no issues ..It all took affect with Noble's latest rocmod....with the old version the lag wasn't noticable...btw, ya, after playing with a 20 ping your right,,it fealt more like 200 ping. I hope you get it all straightened out,,,these guys are great here and will help you with any advice they can offer. Cya

~>GFP<~Murderur
Here is the thing you will get alot of lag i fyou use the entire MD5 tool list we offer, if you play RocMod Noble then you dont need the OSP checks or the Roc Mod Checks all you need are the Base and MP folder checks... Eliminating those checks will reduce server side resources that are being used.... If you Dont have someone checking SS on the server then having the server take 20,000 SS a week is unneccesary. Try changing these settings in your pbsv.cfg to look like this and see if this helps and also reduce the MD5 check (pbsvuser.cfg)... The // stop that line from being read... // *******{ SERVER SNAP SHOTS }******* //PB_SV_AutoSs 1 //1-0 on-off regularly retrieve screen shots from connected players //PB_SV_AutoSsFrom 300 //Minimum number of seconds PB will wait before requesting screen shot //PB_SV_AutoSsTo 600 //Maximum number of seconds PB will wait before requesting screen shot //pb_sv_SsFloor 1 //Low screenshot filename serial # //pb_sv_SsCeiling 10000 //High screenshot filename serial # //pb_sv_SsWidth 800 //Requested pixel width of remote screenshots //pb_sv_SsHeight 640 //Requested pixel height of remote screenshots //pb_sv_SsXpct 50 //Percentage across screen for remote screenshots //pb_sv_SsYpct 50 //Percentage down screen for remote screenshots //pb_sv_SsSrate 1 //Sample Rate for remote screenshots //pb_sv_SsDelay 0 //Maximum delay client waits before capturing screenshot //pb_sv_SsPath "" //Path where remote screenshots are saved // ****( BINDS CHECK )***** //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH wait" //search for wait in binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH leanleft" //search for leanleft in binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH leanright" //search for leanright in binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH moveup" //search for moveup in binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH lookup" //search for moveup in binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH movedown" //search for movedown in binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH lookdown" //search for movedown in binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH attack" //search for attack in binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH .cfg" //search for cfg binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH cheat" //search for cheat binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH exec" //search for exec binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH .exe" //search for exe binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH bot" //search for bot binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH aim" //search for aim in binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH vstr" //search for aim in binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH hack" //search for hack in binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH esp" //search for esp in binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH wall" //search for wall in binds
DentalX*Qc*
You can set the rez a little lower, it can help: //pb_sv_SsWidth 640 //Requested pixel width of remote screenshots //pb_sv_SsHeight 480 //Requested pixel height of remote screenshots Bind check are good to use but can create lag(any check can). Since we dont ban for binds maybe removing those check can help. But, i always checked for binds. Binds for leaning script(we dont ban for script): //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH wait" //search for wait in binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH leanleft" //search for leanleft in binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH leanright" //search for leanright in binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH moveup" //search for moveup in binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH lookup" //search for moveup in binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH movedown" //search for movedown in binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH lookdown" //search for movedown in binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH attack" //search for attack in binds Binds i would definitely check for since it can be used to execute a hack: //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH .cfg" //search for cfg binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH exec" //search for exec binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH .exe" //search for exe binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH vstr" //search for aim in binds Alternate binds, but never catched someone with those: //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH cheat" //search for cheat binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH bot" //search for bot binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH aim" //search for aim in binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH hack" //search for hack in binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH esp" //search for esp in binds //pb_sv_task 300 300 "PB_SV_BINDSRCH wall" //search for wall in binds And you can remove the last part of the line, the explaining, it will reduce the file size: //Requested pixel width of remote screenshots //search for in binds etc
foxdie
AFAIK only few hacks were or are using trap_AddCommand function.
