Robocop
Is Tweaking your Game Counted as a Cheat? If so, one of my members found out the Field of View and i wanted to know what you people thought about it Thanks Robocop
RoadWarrior
Default is 60, max on streaming servers is 80 before it will kick you. Much more than that just makes your screen look "round" and warped anyways.
Crimson_Might
It isn't that the server will kick you actually, it just simply cannot go any higher. Obviously, you never played UT or Quake where you might actually want it to be 125 at times regardless if it made the screen look "round" and warped. jimbouk1977
since one of the patches cant remember which but all players should be set to 65 (fov) now no more no less ! if more unfair advantage if you ask me !. I see all tweaking of game files / cfg as cheating as its not how the game was intended to be played so in that respect they are cheating players who dont mess with game files are they not ?. So you think someone who tweaks fps and maxpackets settings is cheating? What about someone who has a widescreen moniter? Those setting are open for anyone to tweak, why would it be unfair? The range allowed in the mci config is 60-80, so its open to everyone to adjust it inside those values. No. So someone who uses a FOV of 70 is a cheater? Good grief, what a narrow minded opinion. There's a huge difference between personalising game CVars (that's what they're there for btw) and cheating.
blindsided
I don't have a problem with a player changing their FOV, I had mine set at 80 in COD4. If were some kind of match then I could see putting a restriction on it.... but for everyday gaming nah.
BOTA:X
since one of the patches cant remember which but all players should be set to 65 (fov) now no more no less ! if more unfair advantage if you ask me !. I believe you have that backwards. You could always change the FOV but everytime you respawned it would revert to 65. As of patch 1.2, if you change the FOV it remembers it correctly. How the hell is changing a user cvar an unfair advantage? Theres a trade offs with a higher FOV, you can't see as far. That's like saying changing any graphics setting like your resolution or detail is an unfair advantage. I see all tweaking of game files / cfg as cheating as its not how the game was intended to be played so in that respect they are cheating players who dont mess with game files are they not ?. Because you fear that which you do not understand. Read the patch notes for 1.2 if you don't think it was meant to be changed.
