The ban is a valid one, if you have brought the copy of the game second hand or been passed it, then the previous owner probably knew about the ban. No ban on that GUID will be lifted. I suggest that you buy yourself a brand new copy of the game and give it a clean install.

Have to say RE: the steam thing, don't bother me in the slightest. 1. I like boxed copies of games so I won't be downloading it full stop from anywhere! 2. Steam ain't always the cheapest We have all our games lined up neatly in the spare room :P and believe me there's a shit load! Anyways... wo0ps

I'd suggest double checking your GUID as I cannot find a record of it for COD4. Everyone else has said the only GUID linked to you currently is the one coming up at GGC. Your next step would be to register there and ask them about the situation.

If you are applying to stream on behalf of a community/group that is not clan orientated, we require a news item or pinned forum topic stating server details and your intention to stream to PBBans, a tag that relates to your community/group in some way will also be required (tags are mainly used on the PBBans administration side of things so authenticity is not too important) An admin/contacts list on the website/forum with the name of the applicant on it, is a mandatory requirement. Please place a direct link to your news item or pinned topic, in the comments box of the team account application form. Also please do not stream for other clans, each clan needs to go through their own application here in order to stream.

I can only see one application from you and this is what the reply was: http://www.pbbans.com/forums/eyal-bfhq-t144373.html/ A roster is part of our mandatory requirements. A simple forum thread with a list of in game names of tag wearing players would suffice. It also needs to be viewable to guests. When that's all in place, feel free to re-apply. Streaming Application Requirements

Contact PB then, we are PBBans, not the same. Please do not confuse us. PB is made by these guys http://www.evenbalance.com/ if you've been banned raise a ticket through them. What is your GUID/GAME? If you don't wish to post publicly then PM me.

Those who have issues with requirements usually have something to hide. Move along :)

New copy of game = new key = new guid... least thats the way it should work if you get it from the right place :) and you'd be able to retrieve your soldier.
-
Your account isn't being used by other people, your GUID is, the two aren't the same. A GUID is a 32 character hexidecimal code which is usually tied to one owner. What has happened in your case is that GUID has been derived from a leaked key, meaning many are using the same. If someone was using your soldier name the information would show the name being used by different IP's from different countries which it isn't. Or the name would appear on more then one GUID, which it also doesn't. Essentially it means, if someone using that GUID raises a violation which earns them an entry on the master ban index, you will find you cannot connect to pbbans streaming servers. Your soldier would not be banned and can be (as far as I remember for 2142) retrieved and used on new copies of the game. EDIT, Never use a publicly available key, thats where the issue is. Buy a new copy of the game, uninstall your current copy and start from scratch.
-
I'm saying that your 2142 GUID is being used by other players to, I am not referring to linked GUID's at all.
-
None of the IP's you have used on that GUID are linked to bans. However I would still strongly advise you to get a new copy of the game as for example since june the 20th the GUID has been used in 5 different countries. Chances are one of those players will end up triggering a ban at some point rendering the GUID useless.
-
Yes they checked the right GUID. When SGA's search the MPI they can see linked GUIDs, which means it will show linked GUIDs to all those IP's.
-
Was the copy sealed and brought from a reputable store? Having taken a look at the guid, it was first used (on a streaming server) in Poland back in Jan 2010. You first used it with nickname precautions in June 11. Personally I would say where you got your key from was selling keys that it had sold to numerous other users, hence why you have a shared GUID with so many people from so many countries. If I were you I'd pick up a brand new copy from a store.

PunkBuster coming to Red Orchestra 2: Heroes Of Stalingrad
surfy replied to MaydaX's topic in Announcements
What a silly post to make tbh, why have just one or the other when you can implement both? The more anti cheat options out there the better in my opinion. This wasn't a thread about fanboys saying which is better, it was a thread applauding a developer for actually having the intelligence and foresight to use all tools at its disposal. -

It's great that someones actually thought, "lets have the best of both worlds" this is what the future should be like, if developers are truly interested in keeping cheaters off our games :) -
Do you know the name of the server you are "banned by admin" from?
-
http://www.computerandvideogames.com/307454/news/crysis-2-steam-removal-not-eas-decision/ Hmmm I'm thinking steam have had a little strop due to the launch of origin. So glad the gaming community is represented by such classy companies. Next thing we'll see is McDonalds not serving Burgers because Burger King does too.
-
Ok maybe demo's arent an option and to be honest I kinda agree with you, admins hands are tied with lack of PBSS and demo functions in newer games, however that doesn't mean we're gonna accept a screenshots of scores as evidence to add players to our MBI. If you had your own server you could of course locally ban the player, failing that report the guy to clan servers admins and let them chose their own course of action.
-
Why not get in game demo's and send them to server admins (incidently celts do stream), they can then take a look at the evidence and submit if necessary. Other then that a screenshot of a score isn't much use. Edit: Sorry MOH.. thought u were talking COD4.

http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/06/13/battlefield-3-vs-modern-warfare-3-this-is-the-beginning-of-the-war-says-ea-boss/ This kinda crap puts me off games lol. Nothing but hype and fast becoming a pantomime. Let the games speak for themselves fgs. If I wanted to see drama queens and bitching I'd watch glee lol.

lol I did that, got my money back though no biggy ;)

Thats the nature of forums ;)

Hmm not keen on 4 people per squad. It works on BC2 cause basically the game works on a smaller scale. However they're saying the maps will be larger then ever before blah blah blah.. if you have 64 players on a server, 8 squads each side and no commander to co-ordinate, it could lose the battle feel its setting out to have and that is my one big reservation about this game. Squad size dependant on server size may be an idea, but I'm guessing they're passed ideas now.. Generally though my feelings are same as Piggys
