COD4 doesn't show the color except in two situations that I know.. in a pb_plist and when it says you left the server.

Is that still not default?

You should probably recommend all admins change their passwords if they haven't already. Wow that is a huge breach. It would be interesting to install on a sandbox and see what kind of information is sent back and forth.

Sorry for the confusion, that was directed at the original poster. If changing your IP changed your GUID that would eliminate the point of having an ID that is unique to every player. The cost of getting caught cheating would just to be restart your modem and you're unbanned?? Bad idea. Please don't use the words security and EA in the same paragraph. In the vast majority of cases I'm sure they're the ones who compromised their CD key. If a cheater has a copy of a serial number there is no way we can just unban the original user without letting the cheater back in. No idea, but as I understand it someone with a serial number from a keygen is very unlikely to have a "valid" one, and would have to play in a cracked server. If they just happen to land on your serial number with some kind of keygen that is very unlucky because that is not likely to happen. Fortunately no one would hold that against you if the serial thief raises a PB violation, you just buy a new game and life goes on.

Your CD keys were likley stolen, its not likely you will figure out how but I do remember a program being posted (and quickly taken down) that supposedly "tweaked" your game but in reality sent the owner your serial number. Unfortunately the only thing you can do is use a different serial number/GUID. In other words, hit the local store.

Make sure the files you have FTP access to are the same ones running the server, and not a copy.

At the minimum it makes you feel like you're running really fast. :)

If it's a server that streams to PBBans, take a demo and give it to the server admin later. If it's not, get the hell out.

Do you have a cheap router? I used to have one that wouldn't let me ping that many servers at once, probably a full NAT table. If you can plug directly into your cable modem or DSL router and it fixes the problem, you have a cheap router.

Well, the real benefit is that if Punkbuster stops piracy, that will get more developers to hire Even Balance for their game. There are two factors that could be the death of the PC gaming market, cheaters and piracy. Stopping both is vital or we'll all be stuck playing console games.

Well thats because an admin on your server would know what they're looking at and not submit a screenshot. The original question dosen't seem like it's a server side mod since the SGA knew nothing about it. If some one is running around in random servers looking at all the other players in pink camo, they'll get caught. But I would motion to allow nude female skins. :P

In Battlefield games it is a one way hash based on the serial number in your account. Logging into your account on another instance of the game (be it another OS or machine) will still generate the same GUID.

It should really only be used as part of a server side mod, otherwise if they get a PBSS submitted it will likely result in a ban.

Theres basically two sets of commands you need to learn, commands for COD4 and commands for Punkbuster. I think thats the syntax but I'm not at my gaming computer. :)

There is a size limitation so you can't send back the whole 1600x1200 screen. Your options are to increase the sample rate or to randomize the position. Raising the sample rate to 2, 3 or 4 covers a larger area but makes the screenshots grainy..and it becomes inpossible to read any text. Personally I would use a script to randomize the position...there might be one waiting for you in the members area if you get that server streaming here. ;)
