HnKn
I have been playing BF2 since 2/20/06 the reason i am posting is because I am being banned for being a hacker Yet I have never hacked Aparently I am linked to a hacker somehow? How do I go about getting this cleared up? http://www.pbbans.com/mbi-viewban-1ffc7678-vb92157.html From what ive been told im connected to this guy
Big_Guy21
Don't worry about it too much. On the ban you posted, the player was caught while playing on an IP from Sweden while you play in the US. Quite obvious that you did not cause the ban if anybody takes the time to look. It does however look like the banned GUID was used in the US with one of your aliases, which is probably why people are giving you a hard time with it. fozzer
I have been playing BF2 since 2/20/06 the reason i am posting is because I am being banned for being a hacker Yet I have never hacked Aparently I am linked to a hacker somehow? How do I go about getting this cleared up? http://www.pbbans.com/mbi-viewban-1ffc7678-vb92157.html From what ive been told im connected to this guy What should be concerning you more than anything else, is, how did a player from Sweden get hold of your game cd key  Every game that is issued has its own unique cd key, the only anomaly in all PB supported games, is sof2. The pbguid is a 32 digit hexadecimal hash of the game cd key. It is the pbguid that is used to apply bans. There is absolutely no doubt that pbguid c8ce78176f0d8ce60b5330c01ffc7678 raised a bannable violation on a PBBans streamed server. There is absolutely no doubt that a player from Sweden (87.96.219.160) raised the violation on September 27, 2008 2:20 pm. There is absolutely no doubt that the same game cd key has been used by players from the USA and Sweden; So, if you did not willingly pass your game cd key to an online "friend" for example, I would suggest running a complete malware scan of your pc, make sure it is completely secure, and buy and install a new game. That way, you will have a game cd key (and pbguid) that is unique to you. The alternative is to play on servers that do not stream to PBBans or use the PBBans banlist. SuperTaz
Some clans just do not get it. You did NOT raise the violation. A person who stole your CD-Key in Sweden raised the violation. Why the clan does not look into the matter more thoroughly is beyond me. However, since it is a valid violation, the ban will remain on the MBI. All I can say is for you to get another game and make sure you buy it from a good retailer and do a virus and spyware scan immediately. Big_Guy21
At this point you are better off finding another server to play. Don't waste your time if they don't want to listen.

I am willing to bet a CD key gen got it, and it just happens to be a more common randomization. Even if he bought a new one its still subject to a cd key gen. Bain of the legitimate player. RoadWarrior
BF2 is an old game. I am willing to bet a CD key gen got it, and it just happens to be a more common randomization. Even if he bought a new one its still subject to a cd key gen. Bain of the legitimate player. Keygens are made from adding stolen keys to the given database, as a general rule of thumb. Malware/spyware/keyloggers are generally the culprit from which cd-keys and various other types of personal information are stolen. Credit card numbers, social insurance numbers, and so on, to list just a few that should be deemed a lot more important than any game key. There's lots of malicious people out there who want that sort of information for identity theft, and so on, the game key is just a bonus to them, as they can then re-sell them from nefarious game-key sites, or include them in a keygen with a hack they've created for sale, etc. I would honestly recommend a good clean format/re-install of the operating system at a time like this, as these pesky sorts of virii tend to hide in the darkest reaches of your computer, and are often hard to get rid of even with a root-kit scan. Your average spyware/malware scan and anti-virus are not likely going to be near enough.
