MaydaX Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 You may think twice on what you photocopy after seeing this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iC38D5am7go 1 Quote
buttscratcher Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Good stuff. I've wondered about that before. Had no idea everything scaned was saved to a hard drive. 4999 posts eh? Make 5000 a whopper! Thanks for your effort around here. Quote
SuperTaz Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Now that is the worst violation of privacy I have ever seen. TBH, I never thought copiers like that had hard drives. Quote
TheHeartSmasher Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Yep and it's a little late to try and fix them all up quickly. Would be nice if all of the data was heavily encrypted and deleted after the copier was done after every print/copy/fax job. Quote
Duality Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Saw this on another forum yesterday. Scary stuff. Quote
Live Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Encryption and even offering the ability to wipe the drives in some regards still isn't secure. The best security is for those agencies, businesses, etc. that use them for sensitive or personal information is that they should retain the drives period to ensure there is no possible breach. Truly disturbing to see this. Quote
