Banlist???

Recommended Posts

pbdns.dat is nothing to worry about.

The pbbans.dat is were all your server bans are stored.

The easiest way to manage your servers pbbans.dat from a PBBans.com perspective is to go to your team account - view servers - edit flags - check the enforce bans feature.

This has many advantages;

The PBBans Hub checks the connecting players pbguid against the Master Ban Index(MBI), because the Hub does the checking and not the server, it saves server resources .

It's an especially useful feature if your pbbans.dat contains a huge list of banned pbguid's from various anti cheat groups.

You never have to update or download any banlist from PBBans, the Hub will keep all players on the PBBans MBI off your server before they have time to join a team.

If an admin empties the banlist by mistake, anyone on the PBBans MBI will still not be able to join your server.

By checking the enforce bans flag via your team account, it leaves the server pbbans.dat completely free for you to do whatever you have to as regards other anti cheat sites methods of updating banlist's etc.

Welcome to the feature packed world of PBBans Hub "live" streaming :)

Enforce Bans - Hub will check guid of connecting player against MBI. If hub finds the guid, it issues a ban command. This may help to reduce lagg on your server. If your co-admin empties banlist, caught cheater will not be able to join server. 1

Accept PB Bans - Allow hub to update servers banlist. You should untick this option if you ticked 'Enforce Bans' 2

Accept MD5 Bans - Allow ban commands for MD5 related bans.

Accept CVAR Bans - Allow ban commands for CVAR related bans.

Announce New Bans - Allows a ban message to be sent to your server when a player is banned. 5

Allow PAT Reloads - Allows jPAT/PAT to use Hub to send pb_sv_load pat_reload.cfg.

Allow Hub Greetings - Allows server to accept Hub Greetings

Enable CVAR AutoUpdates (EXPERIMENTAL) - If ticked, Hub will send CVAR updates to your server. This replaces ALL cvar tool checks with the pbbans CHEAT related cvar checks. 3

Enable MD5 AutoUpdates (EXPERIMENTAL) - If ticked, Hub will send MD5 updates to your server. This replaces ALL md5 tool checks with the pbbans CHEAT related md5 checks. 4

Enforce RA SBL Bans - Hub will check guid of connecting player against the Respected Admins SBL. If hub finds the guid, it issues a ban command.

I use Enforce Bans, Announce New Bans, Allow Hub Greetings, and Enforce RA SBL Bans.

Use caution with Enable CVAR AutoUpdates and Enable MD5 AutoUpdates. The two settings will overwrite your pbsv.cfg or pbsvuser.cfg. Sorry I can't remember which since I currently do not use those settings.

Here is a link to the Hub Flags Guide.

Hope that helps! :) Best of Luck!

Those 3 Flags will not do anything to your configs. They all work at the Hub not your server. ;)

how come i dont see any new bans getting announced while in my server?even the i have that flag check marked....

Is it possible your playing time has not coincided with a player receiving a ban on another server :P

You can also check your servers PB logs (ususally located in pb/svlogs). Look for something along the lines of:

PB UCON "pbbanshub"@64.27.21.46:42433 [say ^7|^5PBBHub^7| Player ^2Cheating Player ^3(51c693bd) ^7banned for ^1MD5TOOL(9002)]

If your log(s) has lines similar to the above, I guess to say your announce bans is working correctly.

PB UCON Packet ignored from NO-INPUT session #2

That means you have ucon profile 0 enabled. If you want commands sent to your server you need

pb_sv_uconadd 1 64.27.21.46 pbbanshub pbbanshub

Ok i see it now...for both AON LIVE and PBBans the uconadd is set to 0,I should put 1 next to each one right?thanks

Correct. It should be set to 1. If you are running a COD4 server and utilizing the AON(CALM) Common Acceptable Language Monitor then it will need to be set to 3 (for AON only).

I used the AON Admin panel to enable CALM. I noticed the pb_sv_ucon_add had changed from 1 to 3. I'm thinking just making the change from 1 to 3 will enable it.

pb_sv_uconadd 3 71.177.52.13 AONLIVE LIVEBETA

I also noticed this line:

pb_sv_task 630 850 pb_sv_filewhitelist "Sounds "

However, I'm not certain if it is involved.

Once the line had been updated from 1 to 3, I logged into my server and typed a bad word and received a warning so it appeared to be working correctly.

*Update*

I'm not certain if they have disabled CALM. I just checked my server and received no warnings. No changes have been made on the server side. Researching at AON.

Received this response from yapple2 on AON:

Not sure why but there were connection failures the last day and a half, all is well right now.

*Update*

Just checked my server and the CALM system is working again for me. If you decided to utlize CALM, it just a click in the AON COD4 Admin Panel.
