Starfire Posted May 31, 2008 Share Posted May 31, 2008 Key code in use error is a common error that you get when you abruptly get disconnected from a server by any other means than clicking the Leave game button ie internet connection loss. The master server stills sees you as playing when you really are not. If you wait for a few minutes (it can take as many as 15-30 minutes) you will be able to connect again with no problem. Sometimes rebooting your pc or router will clear up the error as well. If you visit Activisions faq's on cod4 and type in "keycode in use errors" they explain it in much more detail.
