If that doesn't work, shut down your PC, Disconnect your modem/router and wait 2mins, reconnect and reboot, try again.

 

Note: Happens allot even to me.

I got back on eventually , but it was a little innerving at the time

 

I was in game when my lagometer went crazy crazy , my game froze up and I subsequently exited

 

I will assume ( for now ) that it was just my internet connection that " timed out "

Yeah, I've had the same error before. If your internet crashes, the game automatically thinks you are still playing the game or on a server, so it says your CD Key is in use.
