server streams, but where is config

Hello,

I' ve got a probably easy question.

I followed the instructions to setup streaming, so far it looks good, the server streamcheck shows "streaming", but now my question trying to understand the background.

WHY has my pbsv.cfg (or any other configfile) not been modified?

I thought, set up streaming will add the entry

"pb_sv_uconadd 1 64.27.21.46 pbbanshub pbbanshub"

to my existing configfile!?

Please shed some light on me....and I hope I have explained clearly...

I used the webinterface to edit the config files.

What is the path of the pbsv.file you are viewing?

Verify you are viewing the PB config file(s) located in the pb folder. Example path (/userid/BF2/pb). The path your provider has for you may be different but should have a similar folder structure.

Basically, if the server continues to streaming after a restart the PBBans Ucon profile is read in from somewhere. Either from the pbsv.cfg or some other file. Check if your pbsv.cfg reads in additional files (pb_sv_load filename). Also check your pbsvuser.cfg or pbsvlog.cfg if they exist.

I see no paths, all I have is the webinterface to manage the content of the configfiles.

here is what I added manually:

pbsv.cfg:

//PBBans

pb_sv_uconadd 1 64.27.21.46 pbbanshub pbbanshub

pbucon.use:

//empty

pbsvuser.cfg doesn't exist, content should be managed via pbsv.cfg.

Since the server continues to stream after a restart is seems the PBBans Ucon profile would certainly be somewhere in the pbsv.cfg file.

I'm not certain if it has anything to do with the game the server is running (BF2). I'm not familiar with BF2 server administration however, it seems the PB administration would be similar to other games.

Game Server Provider?

Game Server Provider?

4netplayers.de

the support says the only correct method to edit conf-files is manual via webinterface. rcon commands via bf2cc or PBWTool would not function correctly!?!?...hm...the howtos in all forums are so different :(

im not sure how you setup the streaming but if you open pbucon.use with notepad or some similar .txt opener you should see the ucon setup (if you issued all 8). and like you stated:

here is what I added manually:

pbsv.cfg:

//PBBans

pb_sv_uconadd 1 64.27.21.46 pbbanshub pbbanshub

as long as that is in your pbsv.cfg file you should have no worries ;)

just make sure you have your md5 checks up to date:

ok....finally found this "howto":

I added to my pbsv.cfg:

//PBBans

pb_sv_USessionLimit 9
pb_sv_uconadd 1 87.106.128.186 ggc_87.106.128.186 bf2
pb_sv_uconadd 1 85.214.107.154 ggc_85.214.107.154 bf2
pb_sv_uconadd 1 85.214.107.155 ggc_85.214.107.155 bf2
pb_sv_uconadd 1 85.214.107.156 ggc_85.214.107.156 bf2
pb_sv_uconadd 1 "64.27.21.46" "pbbanshub" "pbbanshub"
pb_sv_uconignoreempty

is this correct and enough?

is this correct and enough?

Adding that should work fine. I was attempting to troubleshoot on the premise you were adding the commands but the pbsv.cfg was not reflecting the change. Hopefully all is now well.
