TALON thats an ETPUB setting too: then turn off the low xp kick in pb
-
Told him to get list of checks from mci since he was streaming and that those checks are hidden from others for a reason :)
-
I think it just means that it doesnt know the type of videocard the player has installed. maybe a new card or a cheap no-name brand... Example normaly looks like: r_lastValidRenderer = "RADEON X1600 Series x86/MMX/3DNow!/SSE" Just a thought...
-
Awesome work thanks! :D
-
If we change the MOD of a server we dont need to change anything else with reguards to streaming correct?
-
Should you leave the etpub and etmain sections there ALSO? or remove those and only have noquarter. (I do know this is just a test type situation and not written in stone and needs to be discussed further as per your post) We have just converted one of our servers to NOQUATER so any type of input in changeing things to catch the cheats is appriciated. :)

I have heard of settings to be changed for the SNIPER RIFLE recoil, but never for the MG. Maybe just practice with it. Aim lower and if the recoil or RISE of the weapon is that great youll hit your target that way

Your settings for the other anti-cheat site are out of date. I PMed you the correct info. Also, adding the streaming and updates from PBBANS HUB should be added. See the links above. They you get the cake and can eat it too! Also make sure you have PB ENABLED in your server cfg. As stated your running an old version and it doesnt seem to be updateing. Read here for more info http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php Also if you feel your server has been hijacked and thats how you lost your files...make sure your server version is 2.60b version 2.60 has some security flaws.

A) Dont take others CFGs! B) Remeber where you play if its a new server so if you suddenly get banned and find crap in your CFGs, you can report it to EB and get unbanned. ...and why would you have only PART of a hack/cheat... This is how most people get caught. They "TEST" a cheat and dont know how to completely remove it from their system...then BAMM-O BUSTED! ;)

Server forcing clients to set cheat cvars
**DRC**Sippenhaft replied to Ragnar_40k's topic in Enemy Territory
We saw this when other servers updated their MODS...so we just changed our cvar to: pb_sv_cvar rate IN 2500 40000 Knowing that a higher rating wont do anything...then whats the harm in setting it high :D This way people wont get kicked for dumb s#!t B) -
what is this file... I had problems uploading it beacuse it is 0 in size?? (so I just created it on my server) All is running I got he ucon updates for bans etc...but why is this file 0 in size?'
-
Sorry about the public spot. I forget who has access to where...Im on so many sites I forget where I can post what... Just making sure you got em! DANKE! :D
-
one of the popular hacks was updated and changed the prefix to its cvars. I have added the following and will let you all know of the results. (I also PMed Bulldog with some specifics so he can share with you all in private) Remeber the public have access to this

sv_cheat log - are they cheating ?
**DRC**Sippenhaft replied to TALON1973's topic in Enemy Territory
Just a note also about your CHEAT.LOG You will probably see alot of the following by players useing LINUX! This is a big issue right now with PB... [06.28.2006 15:35:10] VIOLATION (GAME INTEGRITY) #20004: * (slot #8) Violation (GAME INTEGRITY) #20004 [*(?) *] [06.28.2006 15:35:51] VIOLATION (GAME INTEGRITY) #20004: *(slot #3) Violation (GAME INTEGRITY) #20004 [*(?) *] [06.28.2006 15:35:58] VIOLATION (GAME INTEGRITY) #20004: ^8 (slot #8) Violation (GAME INTEGRITY) #20004 [*8(?) *] [06.28.2006 15:36:27] VIOLATION (GAME INTEGRITY) #20004: * (slot #3) Violation (GAME INTEGRITY) #20004 [**] [06.28.2006 15:36:53] VIOLATION (GAME INTEGRITY) #20004: ^*(slot #8) Violation (GAME INTEGRITY) #20004 [*(?) *] [06.28.2006 15:37:22] VIOLATION (GAME INTEGRITY) #20004: ^*(slot #3) Violation (GAME INTEGRITY) #20004 [*0(?) *] But Like they said above, if you see the CVAR Violation and it contains one of the nasty terms (ie cheat name) in your checks then it could be an issue. -
Thats Funny :P :D

sv_cheat log - are they cheating ?
**DRC**Sippenhaft replied to TALON1973's topic in Enemy Territory
pb_sv_cvar cl_timenudge Timenudge can be unpredictable when set positive or too much negative. In theory should not have any affect upon how they appear on other player's screens or indeed the server, but no reason in any case to have this cvar set to something outside -50 to 0. See Alternate Fire's Unlagged FAQ to clear up some misgivings about timenudge, if you want to take their word for it. Upset Chaps also describes timenudge as "client side prediction", with no hint that this setting can affect other players in any way. Excessive info (if you're inclined to presume it is remotely accurate) on timenudge can also be found in this document which at first glance appears to claim to all be written by arQon, but on closer inspection it seems only the lower part is and that the top part is someone else's interpretation based on that. Going on the Unlagged FAQ, allowing -30 to 0 actually seems most sensible use for tweakers, but there doesnt seem to be any real issues with -50 to 0 either. However, before you get lost in the myrad of conflicting crap about timenudge, be aware that in ET the norm is for servers to enable antilag coding. This coding compensates for the player's ping, and does it well. Although the way it works is not particularily significant, only how effective is significant, I am led to beleive that whereas normally it would assume all actions are taking place at the moment it is performing the relevant calculations, it instead calculates based upon the assumption that data it receives is at least "ping" duration late. If you bothered to read anything about timenudge, you've probably realised Antilag makes "tn" somewhat redundant. Players should not use timenudge on antilag servers, as there would be timenudge prediction on top of the ping compensation of antilag. Combine this with the widespread perception (prejudice?) that timenudge can be used to cause the player to warp in a matter difficult to shoot at -- a perception that conveniently ignores the fact that any player is more likely to use timenudge as a result of a poor 'net connection, rather than to cause one -- and the suggestion is therefore to restrict this cvar to equalling nil. However, were antilag coding be not used, the recommendation switches to -50 to 0 (even though players are perhaps best to confine themselves to between -30 and 0), or just go with whatever results in the least whines like everywhere else. Note: connection setting restrictions are possibly unnecessary for servers running ETPro with b_antiwarp 1. These restrictions should not cause any negative side effects however. Further, a large portion of players perceive issues with low connection settings, so it's probably a good idea to leave them on even if just to hedge your bets, satisfy ignorance or whatever. ((Setting on my server is pb_sv_cvar "cl_timenudge" IN -20 0)) pb_sv_cvar r_picmic pb_sv_cvar r_gamma pb_sv_cvar r_intensity pb_sv_cvar r_overbrightbits pb_sv_cvar r_mapoverbrightbits These settings are relics of cvar restrictions from RTCW, and are either cheat-protected or hardcoded within these ranges. There is a case (or more usually a flamewar thread) to be made for setting them in more restrictive ranges, but this is 100% opinion based; the only objective judgement is that there is no exploit associated with these cvars. In my personal opinion, the ranges for these cvars as restricted in the game engine do well to balance the arguments about tweaking for performance vs. advantage; these cvars are not an issue like they were in RTCW. It's worth noting that more can be done to tweak brightness using external programs - ones that are popular for bona fide reasons. As noted under other cvar restrictions which are recommended on this page, there are hacks which bypass the game's cvar cheat-protection, but these cvars are hardly of any concern compared to other cheat-protected cvars. That said, it should be noted that some of these cvars are arguably more suspect than others, and it is a call of judgement and personal preference. Hence, I consider adding these cvars to the PB restriction as pointless unless you want to be more restrictive, and even then I consider there being dubious merit in doing so. ((My settings pb_sv_cvar "r_picmip" IN 0 3)) Hope that clears things up for ya! :D -
Looking for Experienced ET admins to help setup server

In your rotation you should not have the .bsp there. just the name in front: oasis And NEVER unpack pk3s :) EXAMPLE: (Notice the map names ONLY, as I am not running a campaign but a rotation) set d1 "set g_gametype 2; map fueldump; set nextmap vstr d2" set d2 "set g_gametype 2; map venice; set nextmap vstr d3" The lan and wan stuff I dont know about :( -

The watchdog as stated is WATCHING to make sure you have maps and such in your cfg. If it sees there is going to be a problem it will shut down (OR restart your rotation) Here is what mine looks like:((It should be the last lines in your server.cfg)) // WATCHDOG // in case the game dies with an ERR_DROP // or any situation leading to server running with no map set com_watchdog 10 // defaults 60 set com_watchdog_cmd "exec maprotate.cfg" // defaults to quit You probably have the LAST line set to the default which will quit/shutdown the server. Change it to exec your rotation so it will start your map rotation again, BUT YOU WILL NEED TO FIND OUT WHAT YOUR ERROR IS... Common map error, the name of the map doesnt = the bsp file name. OPEN the PK3 of your map, then open the MAPS folder, then look for the .BSP file to see what the map is called. THAT is the name that should be in your rotation. Just a little tip! :D -
Can you PM me with who so I can get some settings help.... :)

More questions.... I did not have a PB_SV_USessionLimit So I added one to my cfg . (PB_SV_USessionLimit 1) Do I need to remove this line? pb_sv_load pbsvlog.cfg //load remote logging settings (if pbsvlog.cfg exists) I think I would since I would now be streaming to pbucon?  added file pbucon.use I am also confused about what should be in the lines for psb similar to yours: pb_sv_uconadd 1 63.171.64.205 pbbhub pbbhub That should be all correct? I did nothing else?

Ok got a question, if we are going to stream to more then one site, do we need to increase any of those numbers? like session stuff??
