Tragedy strikes Relic video game developer. Game designer Brian Wood died while protecting his pregnant wife during a horrific car crash http://videogames.yahoo.com/events/plugged-in/gamers-lend-support-to-widow-of-heroic-developer/1410899 It is truly saddening when things like this happen in real life..... RIP, Brian. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family and friends.

With the earlier patches for WaW, they were not cumulative. You had to install each in progression. However, if you use the "Ultimate" Patch 1.7, it includes all previous patches. You can D/L the Ultimate patch 1.7 from here: http://www.fileplanet.com/202406/200000/fileinfo/Call-of-Duty:-World-at-War---Ultimate-Patch-v1.7

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but this is what I use and it works fine. Put this into your server's config file: //Download Redirect set sv_allowdownload "1" seta sv_wwwDownload "1" seta sv_wwwBaseURL http://Enter your redirect location here seta sv_wwwDlDisconnected "0" Then on the MOTD page of your Mod put a "clicky" to the redirect for your players to D/L the mod's client files. Hope that helps..........

I already own all five. Purchased on their day of release! But, Yeah. Great bargain for those that don't have them all. I've enjoyed all of the single players. It's worth the $29.99 just for the SPs alone. As far as multiplayers, CoD2 is my favorite by far! I don't care for the modern weapons, perks, air assaults, etc. of 4 and 5. But, to each his own! :D

You need to allow PnkBstrA.exe AND PnkBstrB.exe through your firewall. Even if you have already done so, if you recently installed a new patch update, you need to re-allow them, because the firewall views the new patches as new executables. Also, if you are using a 3rd party firewall (Norton, ZoneAlarm, etc.) ensure that you have disabled the built-in Windows firewall. If none of the above helps, go through the steps that "HSMagnet" referred you to carefully. In some cases, running pbscv.exe will help in determining/fixing the problem. Hope that helps......

I know that you can't believe everything that you read on the Internet, but here's one reference: "The massive profits from World of Warcraft continue to entice Activision. The company has several times alluded to a desire to turn Call of Duty into-subscription based services. Activision reiterated that desire in a call about their 2009 financial results today, though it still sounds a long ways off." Source: http://e3.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/702499/subscription-based-call-of-duty-brought-up-again-.html#ixzz0rFXVTPki I just hope it isn't true, or doesn't happen, cause I definitely will NOT be buying the game if it does....

Excellent! I'm very much hoping that the multiplayer of this new "Medal of Honor" is going to be good. We need something to replace the Call of Duty franchise that has turned into crap! (I've heard rumors that even though CoD:Black Ops will have dedi servers, it may be subscription based!!!) Thanks for the info, MaydaX.

Hey Chalky - I think you "Hit the nail on the head"! or as you Brits say "Spot on'! :D After viewing the trailer again, it appears to me that with the lab equipment scenes, they've got a former Black Op agent in the lab and are "mind-probing' his memories. So, I'm guessing that the game missions will take place in more than one war/conflict/country - maybe Vietnam, South America, Middle East, etc. - cool! B)

Black Ops: Black Operations or Black Ops are covert operations typically involving activities that are highly clandestine, and often outside of standard military protocol. Black Ops missions often fit into the deniable category, a situation in which there is no claim of responsibility for the action, and/or a false flag operation is used to give the appearance that another faction was responsible, or

Several online retailers have begun taking Pre-Orders! I'll pass...... I won't even consider buying it til it's released, and we see what it's got and what it doesn't. And I doubt that I'll pay $59.99 for it - $49.99 is my limit! btw - I watched the trailer. Not much there - just a teaser. Rumor had it that it was going to be a conflict after WWII, but before modern day. From the little the trailer showed, it looked like it might be set in Vietnam....?? Just guessing by the weapons and helicopter. Also showed a soldier with a bandana ala Rambo and Bradock's Nam movies. (Stallone & Norris) Can any of you weapons/helicopter experts determine which war/conflict this game takes place in?

Call of Duty®: Black Ops Goes Hot on November 9, 2010 Fans to See Sneak Peek Tonight of the Most-Anticipated Entertainment Title of the Year SANTA MONICA, Calif., April 30, 2010 /PRNewswire via COMTEX News Network/ -- DECLASSIFIED: Prepare for the follow-up to the biggest entertainment launch in history: on November 9th Call of Duty®: Black Ops will introduce fans to the elite world of Black Ops. I agree with you guys! I was looking forward to this, too! :scratchchin: But, I won't be buying it, now! Also agree that the devs/publishers don't care to listen to their consumers. It's like "Eat the sh*t we feed you and shut up!" PC gamers are in an unfortunate position right now. Devs/Publishers have realized that the greatest profits to be made are in the console market. I won't go into all the reasons that is true here... They've also realized that there are enough PC Gamers that will continue to buy their games regardless of lack of features like no dedi servers, no mod tools, no PB, etc. and price increases, pay for DLC, etc. This very unfortunately was proven by all the PC Gamers that purchased MW2. So, I expect to see more of the same..... btw - when CoD:World at War was released with important ommisions, like No Demo Record, No Drawfps, inability to minimize game to get to your Rcon tool, etc. I reported the issues to Activision. Their response was "That's how the game was designed, we're not the developers." I responded (quite politely)"I realize Activision is not the developer, however, as the publisher I would expect Activision to act as your customer's advocate and bring these issues to the developer's attention. With that they suspended my account! WTF! lol  Edit: I prolly WILL buy this - when it hits the bargain bin at $9.99, just for the single-player. :P

Wow! Looks awesome! I want it, I want it! Sorry, I can't help with GV. I don't stream to them....Hopefully, someone else here can help.

Thank you for sharing your experiences with us, Duality. Yes, I can feel your disappointment and frustrations from what you have described. I have been a dedicated (no pun intended, lol) Call of Duty player since the day the original CoD was released. I decided to pass on MW2, because of the "no dedicated servers/IW.Net" issue. The issues you list would be enough to make me give up on a game like this, as well. +rep!
-
Can you be more specific? What is it that has changed your mind, in particular? I'm just interested in knowing what exactly would cause an experienced gamer to give up on a $60 game so quickly. The list of possibilities and combinations thereof is endless, so I'm curious to know what did it for you, if you don't mind sharing. As always, I value and respect your opinion......

Besides Steam "Community Chat" - Fraps and TeamSpeak Overlay have also been known to cause "Disallowed Program Driver". Actually, there are many 3rd party programs that can cause it. Think of any new programs or utilities that you may have downloaded or installed recently.

It does look pretty good - let's keep our fingers crossed. Thank for that trailer! p.s. Not sure if I was clear about this on my previous post: The 10th Annivesary Edition includes all 5 previous MoH games....Allied Assault, Spearhead, Breakthrough, Pacific Assault, and AirBorne, plus extras for $19.95! :D
