i don't know how cold it was once in the army, but i had to put a guy's frostbit feet inside my shirt coat etc until the medics got there...

 

Was this at Ranger School? :P And same to you two!

Textbook procedure there, to be specific the frozen body part should be placed in the arm pit. :o Did he recover well or did he get it amputated?

he didn't lose any toes, but i think he received an Article 15 (non-judicial punishment) because he had melted his rubber over boots on a coal stove allowing his boots to become wet and freeze.

I bet that no matter what color their wedding outfits were, they eventually turned white. :P

 

I won't doubt that but it was chaos that day, my uncle got frostbite on his ears and nose, somebody forgot my grandmother at home, multiple family members ended up in the ditch, cars refused to start, some of the booze froze (oh the horror)

 

Eeeeeeeek!

 

Indeed, people were crazy enough to attempt the trip and probably would have been better to postpone it a day
