What does this mean?
-=Garbage DinGo=- replied to -=Garbage DinGo=-'s topic in Streaming Questions and Troubleshooting
Thanks for the reply foxdie I thought that something may have gone wrong on my side. -
Was just looking at my latest server log and noticed this entry:- PB UCON Session #1 Header Mismatch "pbbans"@63.171.64.245:40030 What does this mean?
-
Pleased you've got it sorted out Tim :) If you read the Guru3D textfile fully you'll see they haven't been hacked they are just changing servers. To take a screenshot press your Prt Scr key and open up a programme like PSP, Photoshop or even Word and go Ctrl V or Edit Paste and the image will be pasted iinto whichever app you chose :)

If you are getting entries like that in your server log files then the best thing to do is to stream your server to PBBans :) Otherwise no proof.

Strange behavor of PB 1.229
-=Garbage DinGo=- replied to DukeBomBazz's topic in Soldier of Fortune 2
Good question fozzer I was wondering that as well. Made all the more interesting by the fact that DukeBomBazz has just challenged my clan -=Garbage Animals=- to a scrim  -
:concur: You can see the top of the players head with the team icon above it. IMHO no wallhack.

So until PBUCON is finalised is it best I stream to the rep and hub? -
Server IP 213.208.119.75 Server Port :20100 Game : SOF2 Clan Tag : -=Garbage Animals=- Co-Admin: None at the moment. Please check this is working ok. Looks good to me. Sorry forgot to state this is for PBBans Hub. Already streaming.

Sorry to disagree but for a while there has been a fair amount of friction between PSB and PBBans. I'm sure the longer standing PBBans admins would agree with me there. Yes and in hindsight I think I'll agree with that. However if all the MD5Tool and CVAR checks are agreed between the various anti cheat sites there should be no problem. I didn't realise the multiple streaming option was already in place. If PBBans, PSB and GV work together with defined parameters then why is this a problem?
-
fozzer a couple of questions. You mentioned that multiple streaming would soon be possible. Do you know when? Also when Evenbalance does make this feature available will PBBans be encouraging this after the bad blood between the different repositories? In my own heart I think all differences between the anti cheat sites should become a thing of the past and then PB would become a powerful weapon against the cheaters with one huge repository available to all admins. As it is at the mo' some players who are on the Master Ban Index (Master Ban Index (MBI)) are still able to go on PSB streaming servers and vice versa. Comments from staff and admins please.

My preface to the copy of fozzer's post on Garbage forum I don't know if all of you know but Axis3000 streams its PB logfiles to PBBans repository once a day. To simplify it this ensures that any cheaters caught by PB are automatically added to the Master Ban Index (MBI) I chose to use PBBans after quite a bit of research into the various alternative sites, at the time PunksBusted being the main alternative later to be supplemented by Game Violations. After a lot of forum browsing I came to the conclusion that PBBans offered the most mature and reliable advice and service. Today I read a post on PBBans public forum by a game player named fozzer. He is on the PBBans staff, a Jolt Admin and hails from Liverpool UK (not many miles from myself actually). His post really brought home to me what a good decision I had made in going with PBBans for Axis3000. Copy of post below.

Long maybe fozzer but excellent. You are a credit to PBBans and the gaming community. Since this is a Public forum would it be ok for me to post a copy of your post onto my -=Garbage Animals=- forum or not?

Yes I know that AcE. I was just pointing out that all is not what it seems if you have a high value set in your config.
-
IMHO yes it can be an exploit but it gets a bit more complex than that. About a year ago I set my server to kick for anything over 80. I got a lot of players asking me "Why was I kicked?", after explaining the reason to them they set the value lower and everything was fine. However one night when I went went on my server I got kicked for the very same reason. Now I'm not sure but I think my r_subdivisions had been set at around 4. When I looked at my configs after the kick my r_subdivisions was set at 90. I had not changed this setting myself and wondered why it had changed by itself. The only thing I had changed on my PC was to update the graphics drivers to the latest nVidia release. I can't be certain but my gut feeling is that SoF2 sometimes resets this value when it checks what graphics card is installed and gets confused by new models. Remember this game is 4 years old now. I may well be completely off the mark with the above but a lot of the players who were kicked off my server for this are trusted personal friends and are also admins on the server. They also said they had never changed this setting and after my experience I believe them. So in conclusion I'll say yes it can be an exploit but please don't think that every player who gets kicked for this is attempting to cheat.

Actually he did PM me to say he had tried to upload a demo but the file was too big.
-
Why do they bother? It's a mystery to me.
-
 Indeed. Didn't apply to me though as I'm running a Linux server and all seems to be back to normal after the update to 1.183. Although I said in an earlier post that I'd managed to roll back from 1.182 to 1.180 it did cause huge lag problems. The server didn't crash as it had done with 1.182 but it was connecting to EvenBalance requesting an update every 10 seconds.
-
I'm not surprised. They've really screwed up this time.
-
Thanks for the heads up foxdie.
-
Big problems all round with the latest PB update to 1.182. For some reason after this update whenever a client connects to the server the server crashes. Other admins are also reporting this. I managed to roll my server back to PB v1.180 and all seems ok now. Why it isn't auto updating back to v1.182 is a mystery to me though I suppose EB could have pulled the latest update from its servers due to the probs.
