Seems like Ravensoft have shut down the Master Servers :(
-
Correct. No list of servers shown. HLSW and Qtracker are working ok though :)
-
Hope everyone is enjoying the Christmas break. I hope all members and PBBans staff have a great new year. Keep up the good work guys :)
-
Good to see you guys struggle through this and come out winning. Keep up the good work :)

Nice catch crazycj. Pity but he'll have to remain a local ban for now.
-
Pleased to hear you're up and running m8 :)
-
Go to Task Manager and click on the Services tab. Check whether the PnkBstrA service is running, it should start running on bootup and when a PB enabled game is run the PnkBstrB service will start up as well. Not having these services running would result in the type of kick you are describing.

Need help on something weird please.

I think the chance of that is next to zero. More likely the reason is a crash of SOF2 or the game didn't shut down correctly. -

For some reason a file got corrupted and scrambled your CD key. Best thing to do is delete the sof2key file from the sof2\mp directory then restart the game and enter your cD key again. It happens occasionally . -
It's called AliasFinder http://www.aliasfinder.co.uk/

Years after the event the stupidity of Activision releasing batches of SOF2 all with the same CD key never fails to amaze me. If ever there was an encouragement to use a keygen then that is it. In fact it may have been a better solution if Activision had included a keygen in the package. It would have resulted in far less problems.

Nice to hear from you TurboPulse and thanks for the heads up on this. btw my other nick is DooGie of sofplayers.co.uk :)

Have you ever tried setting it to 0 Benway. I did and got well over 1000 fps. Trouble is the server can't handle it and you start jerking all over the place like you've got bad lag. On the capping of maxfps at 125 as per Clanbase rules I've got an open mind and think that it should be left to server admins to do what they feel is right. Personally I allow 333 fps on my server and use it myself. However I still play on servers capped at 125 and just adjust my settings accordingly. I honestly don't think the 333 thing is any big deal, just slightly better jumps. toxin OUT means exactly what it says. A players settings must be outside those values. IN means a players settings must be within those values. So pb_sv_cvar "com_maxfps" IN 43 150 then the player must have his fps set between 43 and 150, ie it can't be set at 42 or below or 151 and above. The other way round for out.

In a word no. If you really don't want players to go over that then set PB to kick players who have com_maxfps set above that.

PB ET Linux Uploading SS's to website
-=Garbage DinGo=- replied to ES Secret Squirrel's topic in General Discussions
=BLACKWOLF= pointed me towards this thread as I'd asked the same question regarding pbss. I'm going to have a go at running this on my sof2 server. One question though, is the script put in the sof2/pb directory or the .sof2/pb directory? I'm guessing it's the .sof2 one. Update Surely there is a big problem here. Your webspace ftp details will be available to the company who run your game server. -
Are you seeing any error messages in the server log files that relate to this?
-
The trouble is that infrequent doesn't look at his forum much these days. I'm sorry if this sounds like a plug but he does visit my SOF2 message board regularly so if you posted there he would most likely reply. http://www.sofplayers.co.uk/ Have a look through the posts and you will see infrequent is a regular visitor.

Yes fozzer I agree with your comments but Evenbalance must share some of that blame as well as server admins and game devs. Anyway getting back on topic. I still feel that SOF Payback is a hoax. It's all very well for sites to say Activision has made a statement but where is that statement on the Activision site? Nowhere! Also where are the credits at the end of the trailers. Yes you get a small Activision splash screen but no proper credits like other game trailers. Don't get me wrong I'd love to see a new version of SOF released but I'll believe nothing until I've got a copy in my hands.
-
In some ways I agree fozzer but I can't help but feel that is a bit of a defeatist attitude. If Evenbalance had kept on top of the SOF2 hacks then it wouldn't be in the sorry state it is today :(

Very smoothly executed. GJ all PBBans staff. One question though, should the old PB UCON Settings IP be removed from the pbsv.cfg now?
-
OK I'll change that. Thanks for the help :)

So that's what caused these in my logs yesterday [09.29.2007 23:34:38] PB UCON Session Limit Reached (pb_sv_UsessionLimit=1), packet ignored from 63.171.64.205:40018 [pbbhub]. [09.29.2007 23:37:08] PB UCON Session Limit Reached (pb_sv_UsessionLimit=1), packet ignored from 63.171.64.205:40018 [pbbhub]. Seems to have worked though as I've got this now. ;PB UCON Settings / Lists pb_sv_usessionlimit 1 pb_sv_ucontimeout 300 pb_sv_uconempty pb_sv_uconadd 1 "63.171.64.245" "pbbans" "pbbans" pb_sv_uconadd 1 "63.171.64.205" "pbbhub" "pbbhub" pb_sv_uconignoreempty One problem with doing this remotely however is that the pb_sv_writecfg command issued has written all my cvar checks to pbsv.cfg. I really like these to be kept seperate in the pbsvcvar.cfg.

Nice to hear that other games have the same probs fozzer :)

Actually this post has come at a good time for me and I don't think that sometimes things may be as they seem. I run a fun night on my server on Saturdays and have a mapcycle which includes 2 different custom maps each week. This is attended most weeks by the same group of players most of which I know well. 2 weeks ago one of my admins joined and was immediately kicked by PB for previous ban. A bit later another player I know was kicked for the same thing. I checked out the guids in the logs and found they were both the same and when checking in the Master Player Index (MPI) saw it was a globally banned guid. I emailed the admin and asked him wtf was going on and got the replythat upon entering the server his game had crashed to desktop and when he tried to re-enter the server he got kicked by PB. Now I've known this guy for years, he's an admin on my server and also an admin on Gameservers DM server and he's clean as a whistle. He finally got on by reinstalling sOF2 and his normal guid was logged on the server. Interesting though that he told me his sof2key file was empty when he looked at it after he was kicked. Comments please.
