Hopefully, TitanFall doesn't turn into TitanFail....
-
Agreed SuperTaz. I still think nothing compares to the ease and playability of the old Battlefield Vietnam. Anyone could jump into a jet, chopper or tank and use it without having to sit down for hours practicing how to look out of a 3 inch window. A lot less complex, heaps more fun and how much you spent on a 'gaming' machine didn't dictate who sat up the top of the leaderboard. Given all the problems (still ongoing) with BC2 and BF3, as well as, my absolute hate of Origin, I don't think I'll waste my money on BF4. Sad, but that's how I feel at the moment.

Never happen here in Australia. Worse still, they charge us for our uploads, as well as, our downloads and it all comes off your monthly bandwidth allotment (mine is 500GB but I have to share it between 4 people).

Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad
PartyPooper replied to buttscratcher's topic in Gamers Sanctuary
Purchased this game a while ago as part of a Steam pack offer but have never played it partly due to my dislike of the first RO (didn't like the aiming, reloading or graphics). Might dust it off and play it sometime. -
Forget the wall, why not just use a 3D helmet system where turning your head, turns your body in game as well. Better surround sound, better visuals and less wall space required.
-
You guys are lucky - Steam is charging us double over here - $9.99. Geo-locational charging is so wrong for a digital product.

Hmmm, not sure I'd call them "reasonable". $US45 for COD:BO (over 2 years old now) and COD:MW2 (over 3 years old now) seems a steep to me. I picked up COD4 for $AS10 in a well known games shop last year (think I've played it twice since then) so I can't see how Steam can justify $US25 seeing the game is over 5 years old now (that's like ancient in the software world). Come to think of it, the Xmas sales on Steam this year aren't all that great, unlike previous years. Maybe I'm just more particular in what I part with my cash for these days....

Titan Quest is a fantastic co-op game. I liked Metro2033 as well but the story was too short I thought. Warhammer 40K is good too as is Company of Heroes.
-
Yep, I agree, fantastic single player game. I'm over wasting money on multi-player games like BF/COD etc., because they all turn into hack-fests sooner or later even with Punkbuster and PBBans. Rather spend my money on a great single player/coop game like Max or Borderlands 2. I've picked up Rage and I Am Alive recently on the Steam sales. Well worth the money I paid for them.

I let the domain name lapse a few days ago. Not sure if I'll renew it or not as I haven't been playing (or using GUIDTracker) much of late.

Under $US20: Borderlands. http://store.steampowered.com/app/8980 One of the biggest and best single player/coop games I've ever played. Pre-order Afterfall Insanity FPS for just $1
PartyPooper replied to MaydaX's topic in Gamers Sanctuary
Even for $1 and people buying multiple copies I don't believe they were ever going to reach the 10 million sales figure. If the game was visually as good as BF3, 6 million perhaps which means, no one was ever going to get a $1 game - you'd end up forking out the true cost minus the $1 you already paid. Tricky marketing if you ask me. -
Consider yourself lucky guys - all ADSL/Cable plans are capped in Australia. Once you go over your cap, you're either stung HUGE $$ for additional usage or you're speed limited down to dialup.
-
Agreed. Very suspicious given the high ping and he is only level 7

While I agree, I can understand that due to the overwhelming numbers of cheaters we see in servers these days, this is now the case (people more willing to believe players are deliberately cheating). Probably why I prefer single player/co-op games now. In as far as AHK and other macro programs being used in multi-player games, I believe restriction kicks are the answer simply because people don't always use AHK etc., for cheating so asking them to turn off the macro before rejoining the server is the way to go. By the way, I lump the use of G15 and mouse macros in the same boat - shouldn't be on in multiplayer games regardless of usage.

AMD Radeon HD 7950 Released
PartyPooper replied to SuperTaz's topic in Hardware and General PC Issues
Still running the HD4870 with little problem. Then again, I never play multiplayer games on anything but low-medium settings to maximise FPS. -
Another one to avoid - http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/servers/show/05330393-e84f-45c0-8719-adb7295ecd5d/Aussie-Flag-Party-1p-start-No-Kill/ Stat padding lamers. Not allowed to kill opposite team, just cap flags so you can rank up fast.
-
Wow, that IS lame. The only way to effect a change in their behaviour is for public players to vote with their feet and not visit these types of servers. This way, it becomes a simple choice for the server admin - either change their behaviour to attract more players to their server or bear the cost of an empty server every month.
-
I'm hoping that the PB client side logging will be fixed so I can add BF3 to the GUIDTracker program. Don't like my chances at this stage.

MBi private for Streaming Admins ONLY
PartyPooper replied to Knives*'s topic in Comments & Suggestions
She meant my program, not the database search on PBBans. -
Thanks Kraxus187 but to be honest, very little I suspect. Obvious stat padding/knife servers are rarely closed down so I don't like the chances of getting anything done due to a childish admin who likes to throw tantrums when he's killed in game.
-
Hahaha he did the same to me (server killing) before I got kicked - that server should be banned from the ranking system. Pity there's no code of ethics Server Operators/Owners must sign and adhere to before being allowed to offer their server as a ranked one.
-
Here's one to avoid like the plague... http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/servers/show/63cbd0ab-4272-49ee-b1f1-bc379ac3dc12/BACK2Karkand-extended-Tickets-1-p-start/ Currently run by a 10 yr old on a power trip (http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/soldier/NotMyFaultYouSuk/stats/352594481/). Doesn't like being killed and hates a negative KDR. He was in the process of kicking another player because the player "knew where he was all the time" when I made the mistake of killing him one to many times so he tore up his party dress and kicked (poss banned) me from the server. I LOL'd so hard I had to stop playing and go to the toilet. Pity BF3 doesn't have a function that allows players to permanently remove specific servers from the server browser so we don't ever make the mistake of joining them again.

My initial impressions: - I HATE ORIGIN - I HATE having to waste resources on keeping browser windows and ancillary programs running in the background. - I HATE having to wait DAYS after I purchase Karkland before I can get it. - Knifing is crap, prefer the BF2/BF2142/BC2 way rather than always having to be behind someone. - Knifing from behind when someone is prone is a hit/miss affair. - Honestly, who likes the knifing cinematics in a FPS game which leaves you vulnerable - NO ONE. - STILL getting hooked up on small crap that you'd normally step over without a second thought. - Sprinting is unrealistic WAAAAYYY too fast. - HATE unlocks PERIOD. Should start out with everything and get stuff taken away as you progress - then you'd see real skill. - should get red dot scope BEFORE 4x or better. - unless you have the latest and greatest CPU and GPU, this game sucks because you won't see anyone until after they kill you. - vehicles are better than BC2 but I still prefer the ease of flying choppers and planes in BFV (the original) - too much crap in the arsenal.... more than 4/5 keys worth detracts from the game and just gets confusing. - Having to specify the loadout AGAIN when you swap teams is so BF2142 and so LAME. - Cheaters are still raping in servers. So many in fact that I almost returned the game to the store in disgust. Still might. - Game play under Frostbite 2 seems good and smooth but still occasionally freezes or gets stuck on the "loading" screen. - Punkbuster client logging non-functional and broken. - Maps are good.
