Just checked and the only thing fixed is #2 which I edited above. Doubt the rest will ever be fixed at this point.

Server streams log data to us and we send various commands to the server as necessary. But if you hook the server like a cheat does with games you can have the server send anything you want: That application is on the internet for anyone to find and use so the bottom line is you can't blindly trust the server hence the reason for our requirements.
-
Procon guide can be found at http://www.pbbans.com/info-center-hubguide.html#frostbitegui
-
If your server is still kicking a lot of people for it you can temporally set pb_sv_restrictions 0 and it will not kick players for those restrictions. But I'd advise admins re-enable later once it stabilizes. I've also moved this to a public area to help others who have this issue.
-
Think that has been established many times now in this topic alone. Specifically a mass wave of them. PBBans in 2008 GGC in 2011 Was nothing against anyone just used as examples for the main reason for our strict requirements which answered the OP question. Those mass spoofing events happened, it's fact and is the reason for our requirements. So can we all just move along instead of repeating the same points over and over.
-
When dealing with the public you have to in order to protect yourself. Better to be cautious and try to prevent false data from being streamed than to allow it and not be able to find it later. If streaming was completely secure then yes we could allow anyone to stream. However in the real world that simply doesn't happen. Just as banks don't just give out mortgages, loans or credit cards without doing a credit check on the person first. Same idea. It's too late when the person is long gone or can't pay the money back. Hell even EA trusted the RSP system and included debugger files in the BC2 / BF3 server files which got leaked to the public. After that It's too late because those files are then used to help make cheats for those games.
-
Every streaming system is vulnerable which is why I stated: That is also the reason we removed the 32 character GUID on the MPi for clean players. It further reduces the risk of false data because attackers have one less place to gain a list of targets. It was my answer to the OP of why we have strict requirements. It's not attacking anyone, just stating facts of past events.
-
That's just comments we added to explain what it does. PB doesn't add comments to commands entered. They are additional hub profiles for when the main IP was ddos attacked. We don't publish the additional profiles publicly (pbsv in the mci is public) to reduce the chances of being atatcked on those IP's as well. They are different. One is for the download speed and one is ucon. They are mostly used to show examples. They do use more resources depending on how they are configured and yes in BF they are not used and can be removed from your config.

There was no website requirement for many years and in Sept 2008 a person decided to add a server and stream false data to us which prompted us to make changes to our requirements. http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/1209/pbbfakebans.png Even others got hit with the same thing last year: http://i54.tinypic.com/10g0g03.png http://i51.tinypic.com/2pzyx6o.jpg Seems the above links are now dead. Images attached in a later post. Our increased streaming requirements won't completely stop those people from gaining access to our site however it does reduce the risk. Some say what is the point if those people can still get in. Well if someone wants to really steal a car they will but that doesn't mean the owner should leave the doors unlocked and the keys in the ignition because it won't help if a person really wants to steal it. Many staff members here would love to allow anyone to stream as it was before but that means a greater risk of being sent false data and it's not worth it.

Does PB Detecte the FXAA Injector for BF3 as a hack?
MaydaX replied to Fancydeath's topic in Gamers Sanctuary
It's possible that PB may add a detection for it in the future and kick the user with a restriction message. But there is also a risk that it may raise a bannable violation as well (It happened with wide screen fixer in the past). Even balance would be the best people to ask that question. Best to be cautious with any unknown application that hooks into the memory of a game to display overlays or modify the game itself in anyway.- 31 replies

We have added an Enforce UMBi Bans option which enforces bans located in the unofficial MBi. This is focused at Enemy Territory since all new bans are now added to the Unofficial MBi because the auth server is offline. We have also added an Allow Unban Commands flag option which is disabled by default. This is because the Enforce Ban options all issue kick commands. Also it prevents lag spikes when unbanning guids on servers with large banlists. Finally America's Army 2 is no longer supported and has been removed from the active list of games at PBBans. This is because the auth servers responsible for generating PB GUIDs are now permanently offline.

On sale today for 50% off ($20USD) http://store.steampowered.com/app/41070/ Also comes with dedicated servers that anyone can host and even a map editor. Plus what really impressed me was the huge number of graphics options. Can't remember the last time seen that much control in a PC game. http://steamcommunity.com/id/maydax/screenshots/?filter=app_41070

61 Battlefield 3 Bans have been removed from the MBI and unban commands sent out on Dec 27, 2011 for hub streaming servers.

*sigh* https://twitter.com/#!/Demize99/status/150175736454590464 Wish they would really stop messing with the weapons in every damn patch. Should have been done in the beta and NOT the retail game. I think BF games are the worst for weapon changes in patches. Reminds me of:

Some being the key word. Quite the drop in a few short months. +1 Maps are not the main issue right now. It took too long to get the big issues worked out and there are still many more. I don't think BF3 can be restored to it's launch days. No amount of DLC or maps will fix it and the player count will just keep dropping until the next game comes along. I wish they would restore the weapons to launch day or even the beta and restore the netcode as well. That's only a few things in a long list of needed changes. But what do I know, I just played FPS games on PC for over 10 years (Damn I'm getting old LOL).

And break weapons that people didn't complain about. It's very annoying to get used to the weapons then many of them get changed in patches because some think weapon X, Y or Z are overpowered. Wish they would just fix any really overpowered / underpowered ones and tell people to live with the rest. It's very annoying to say the least. I thought the beta weapon damage model was ok and just needed a few adjustments. That's where the major weapon tweaks should have been made, not in every patch of the retail game. That and the netcode change of the last patch was the final nail in the BF3 coffen for me. I play a bit now with friends but not for long and I don't have the desire to play alone much anymore. Whch is a shame because I did enjoy the game but every patch killed it more and more.

As another year comes to an end we would like to take this time to thank all of our streamers, donors and supporters for making PBBans what it is today. Without you there would be no PBBans. It has been another great year for PBBans. While we had a few ups and downs again, overall it's been very positive. From new site features such as our new forums to new games such as Red Orchestra 2, Battlefield 3 and Battlefield Play4Free. We wish to thank Tripwire Interactive for all their work of integrating the extra features of PB into Red Orchestra 2 based on our bug reports and suggestions. We also wish to thank Mikael Kalms of DICE for his work on Battlefield 3 with the AC and RCON tool developer community. Happy Holidays from all of us at PBBans. Have a safe and cheat free holiday season. We look forward to seeing you in the new year.

If you're referring to the one below the user name then no. It was a hook that hasn't been updated to work with 3.2 yet. Edit: Guess there is one now. Installed :P
