Been Banned Need Advice

My player name on BF2142 is FlyingBrick i have played for quite a long time on the GQ - Suez Titan (Moving) server up untill yesterday where it was reported that i was glitching in a building at silo 1 on the Suez Canal Map when i was actualy on the top of a lamp post next to it.

 

This isnt however the issue but because of it the GQ admin checked my GUID from this site as can be seen within the post linked below.

Now i was told that a GUID is created from a CD key im assuming this is always the same no matter how much you install the game since the CD Key is always the same I have 10 GUID's according to the picture and i have no CD key since i install the game from the EA Downloader formaly knowen as EA-Link.

 

Untill i can explaine how i have multiple GUID's a ban has been placed on me and i am unable to play on their server.

 

Not only has this hurt me as a player but it has tarnished my name aswell being banned from a server for somthing i just dont know how to explaine. I dont know how a GUID is created with my installation since i have no CD key i dont even have a CD please can somone here explaine how the GUID works with direct downloads and why i have so many GUID's attached to my player name.

Rodeo Bob I came for help on a serious matter not more accusations the information provided by your site has now placed a mark on my name regardless of how your initial gut feelings are on the matter please at least investigate it for me.

 

Please feel free to ask for any information you like from my computer I will happily post any files dxdiag system info to resolve this issue.

 

As I have said on the GQ forum it’s no longer a case of just a ban for glitching ( That I didn’t do in the first place ) it’s a matter of principle now.

 

1. I don’t know how to make a GUID or even how I got one since I have no CD key .. But cant prove it - Help
   
2. Up until yesterday when I saw the forum posts I didn’t even know what a GUID was let alone the fact I have 10 or more for all I know.
   

It can’t create a GUID on installation because looking at the pic I have 5 GUID's for the 11th alone and I haven’t reinstalled or reformatted my system since last weekend.

 

I still think it could have something to do with the fact I don’t have a CD key or a CD and play through EA-Link.

 

As I have said before if GQ decide to keep the ban on me regardless of your findings I won’t fight it after all it’s their server they can do what they like to whom ever they like but it’s more a case of clearing my name from something I really don’t understand.

 

I know you proberly have people pleading innocence to things they have undoubtedly done trying to get out of it all I can say is that I am not one of them. they properly all say that too but I have no way of proving my innocence without your help in this matter because I just don’t understand enough about this GUID to explain why I have more than one.

Occam's razor says you have multiple GUIDs because you use a GUID generator, sorry. I googled around and the only people claiming their GUID magically changes are known hack/exploiters and no one believes them.

I can understand your position and why you are saying that but i just cant see how i can prove my innocence when so many people have done what you are saying generating GUID's.

 

I am being punished because of the idiots that acctually glitch and hack then get banned and not being seen for the average player i actually am im not that good at BF2142 plenty of you have played with me on your server even yourself LazyG and yet im still being persicuted for other peoples actions.

 

At this stage all i want to do is clear my name and all i have got from these sites is abusive comments and allagations of being a hacker or somthing.

 

I have yet to actualy recieve any help in this matter or explanations as to how i have multi GUID's when i dont even have a CD Key or even have a CD.

 

I was advised by your GQ site to post here for help so i did very nicly requesting some help and explanations the first responce i get is abuse.

 

If this is a serious company that is invested in actually helping players it has to investigate the possibility that not everyone is a hacker, Not everyone is liying and not everyone is out to cheat the system.

 

I am deeply hurt over what is being implied on these so called help page's and by what i have been accused of never in my many years of gaming have i ever been accused of such things and when i am i dont get help but more accusations and abusive posts.

 

This is most disheartening your suppost to set a standard for fair gaming here and yet im being treated like a criminal when all i want to do is explaine why i have multiple GUID's but to do that i need to find out how i have them for that i need your help.

 

It looks like GQ was mistaken about getting help from you and i request to make a formal complaint about how i have been treated within this forum with reguards to this matter.

What you have got is a server admin telling you your not welcome on his server because it looks like every time you connect to a server you somehow generate a new pbguid (which is a 32 digit hexadecimal hash of the game cd key)

I have no idea what EA-link is or what it does, are you saying you downloaded the game from an official EA source and they never provided you with a cd key .... I would like you to explain to a nub like me how you are able to play a PB enabled game without a cd key.

I would also like you to explain how you can play the game without purchasing a legitimate copy of the game complete with a unique cd key.

When you can explain those 2 issues in detail, then maybe we can offer advice.

As it stands right now what your saying does not ring true, hence the guarded responses you have received thus far.

This one i can explaine quite easily

 

When BF2142 came out EA used a copywrite exe called SafeDisc and another called SecuROM on the disk that had problems running on some cd/dvd drives because of this the disk wasnt recognised and wouldent read for many people i was one of them.

 

if you go onto http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk and do a search for safedisc you will see for yourself they have big problems with it and people not being able to play because the disk isnt seen.

 

I cant find my post about the safedisc issue but here are a few just to backup what im saying of people having this problem i did a search around for some feel free to do your own search on it there are plenty of people complaining about it.

heh in my searching i actualy found a fix for the SecuROM problem when the disk isnt being seen

Anyways after some fighting with EA over the problems and a little research into what was causing it EA offered me a Direct download of the game Via their download manager (Back then it was called "EA-Link" ) with this i opted to extend the availability of the game incase i had to format and lost the download and you can only play the game by downloading it through the manager and installing through the manager then clicking the play button once its installed and patched the download manager even handles the patches so its quite usefull although a little slow.

It is an official site and part of EA store so you dont have to worry about it being from some dodgy direct warez thingy.

havent redownloaded my command and conquer yet as you can see and also it never registers when a patch is installed you can see patch 1.50 as still needing to download that bit has never worked but its installed.

 

 

This isnt what you think its not for activating products its for entering in CD keys from disks you have got from shops then if you lose the disk you can download a copy of the software on the licence you registered with by loging into your account on the download manager "the bit i fuzzed out is my account name so you can understand why if you need one unfuzzed i can send you the unfuzzed picture to a email address as proof" once you have installed the download manager and entered in your CD key from the box into your account adding a game if you lose the disk or box or even the Serial number you can re-download it because its saved as part of your download manager account.

 

After the problems i had with the CD not working on my computer because of the security exe not being read in some cd/dvd drives EA activated a direct download on my account they activated it not me so i dont have a serial number for it.

 

I proberly waffled a little in there but i wanted to provide as much info on what you asked as possible.

Then your beef is with EA who have failed to supply you with a game cd key.

I would suggest contacting them and explaining things, because what it looks like to any server admin when they check on you, is keygen user. Especially when they see 4 or 5 different pbguid's over a 4 day period.

The longer it goes on the more pbguid's will be associated with you and more server admins will make the same conclusion that everybody else has from the start of this topic.

PBBans has no control over who server admins elect to add to their banlist and you have been added to 1 servers locally applied banlist (that we know of)

I can virtually guarantee that more server admins will locally ban you if they check you out for one reason or another because you should have been issued with a one off game cd key and that in turn would make 1 pbguid unique to you.

All EA issues Bro.

I was just pointing out that if you just carry on as you are, the pbguid list attributed to you will get bigger and bigger thus drawing more attention from vigilant/proactive server admins.

At least if you get a game cd complete with unique key and install it, that will be an end to the 5 pbguid's over a 4 day period issue.

Hardly what I would call a beneficial solution for you but unless EA prove they care (theres always a first time :P ) I dont see any other solution.

Yes, but it will stick with you thereafter and not change every time you fire up the game.

The GQ admins, I am sure are following this topic too :)

Most of the streaming admins/PBBans staff have heard every excuse under the sun for the various issues that cause players to register here and complain.

I guess thats why the cynical side of us rears its head so readily.

An update would be appreciated because as far as I am aware, your the first person to come here and raise this issue, and if you manage to get a successful resolution from EA it may help others in the future.

This is going to be quite long but i want to give you as much information as possible before you reply so you are informed about the situation i am stuck in.

 

I was playing on a www.gamequorum.com server where i was banned for glitching this is something i went onto their site to dispute and appeal against but during the course of posts the admin checked my GUID via a site called www.PBbans.com from them they discovered i have 10 GUID's and slapped a another ban on me.

 

I know so far this isn't your problem but please keep reading.

 

after this happened they said that i had to explain the multiple GUID's on my account before anything was lifted because it looks like im generating new keys at this point i am going mad with anger at the accusations flying my way being called a glitcher and a umm for lack of a better word hacker was just too much for me so i went to PBbans and posted a request for help since that is where the GUID information came from in the first place.

 

I was first faced with more abuse because all they here all day is people pleading againsed bans they have developed what seems to be a bit of a complex about it anyway i posted my disgust at being treated like a criminal when they are supposed to be helping make the game fair for everyone and keep the hackers, glitchers and cheats off the servers.

 

It was at this point where i actually received some help from a Admin named Fozzer who explained the situation and requested some information from me about the download manager since he didn't know about it.

 

I did a lengthy post on what the download manager was and why i was forced to use it in the first place it was only then that i was informed that it looked like the download manager was generating new GUID's every time i loged in or restarted my PC or the download manager i have no idea.

 

with multiple GUID's being attached to my player every time i play the game the list is growing so if another admin checks me out i will be banned from another server and another and another sooner or later i will get a global ban on my player or my computer im not sure how it works.

 

If this is a matter that effects me im sure there are others out there using the download manager that have the same problem they just dont know it until somone checks there GUID via the PBbans site.

 

Then they will be faced with trying to prove their innocence even though they are not guilty of anything but playing the game through your software.

 

Can you tell me exactly how the EA-Link or Download manager creates a GUID when you don't even have a CD key ?.

 

And why is it creating new GUID's every time you play or login or restart the software or the computer.

 

Since i dont know how to check my own GUID im not sure when it is actually created even if you can tell me how to check that myself i could run some tests myself and then pass the information onto you.

Are you saying you have a game CD but there was a problem getting it to work on some cd/dvd drives ?

If thats correct you should have the product CD key that is shipped with the game and it should be entered into the relevant box for the product code in download manager/activation.

I have keys for both downloaded and "hard copy" games; I am a bit confused here. I have not noticed my guid changing so maybe my current version of the "downloader" is out of date.... :rolleyes:

I wasnt the one that activated it EA did the instalation i have does'nt ask for a serial when i install so i have no where to put it anyway.

 

The only way i can see of doing it is to go out and buy another disk then either using the disk and just hope my new computer can recognise it or use the CD key in the activation part of the download manager and downloading it saying i lost the disk.

 

but either way it still dont help explain why i have multiple GUID's and that to me is the important thing. Without being able to explain why this has happened i could be faced with going through all this again if an admin checks.

+1 on that. If you have a DVD drive that refuses to read certain disks, I would replace it. I had a similar issue with a DVD drive that refused to read my COD4 disk as well as several DVD movies. In the end the troubleshooting time costs just were not worth it and I picked up a new drive for a few quid.

 

EA doesn't give a rats if you are able to play or not - they just care that another

Yea that will solve the imediate issue and is somthing im already thinking about but the fact i still have multiple GUID's is a problem even if i insall a fresh copy from a shop with a CD key i will be left with all the GUID's i had before +1 GUID from the new install.

 

This also wont help me get the proof i need to give GQ to show them i wasnt liying about having multiple GUID's or any other server admin that checks my player and decides to ban me for multiple GUID's.
