Unable to Join Server After Streaming
RoadWarrior replied to bpatton's topic in Battlefield Bad Company 2
Might want to try this thread..... Click Me! Not sure if it's your issue or not, post back if this helps or not. -
His BF2142 GUID is clean, and you are correct, his clean BFBC2 GUID is most likely from prior to the update given the date it was last seen on. His current BFBC2 GUID is the only one globally banned. As FireStorm said, you can link him to his ban and pass along the suggestions above in order for him to appeal his ban. The outcome of this all relies on his evenbalance support ticket. If he wants the fastest response possible, make sure he lists hardware installed in his computer(not generic info, but detailed) driver revisions isntalled for things like video card, sound card, etc, a list of software running at the time in the background(everything from anti-virus to anti-malware programs, chat programs, things like TS over-lay, etc). The more detailed information he can provide, the better chance he has of getting a response in his favor. Granted, he may not get a favorable response at all. That will be entirely up to EvenBalance.

His Ban Link He's tied to a BF2142 GUID as well as a clean BFBC2 GUID by IP as well as similar/same game name.

You have not angered staff here. What you are seeing is that staff here go to great lengths to do background checks into new account applications to ensure that we don't have former/present cheaters listed here as SGA and do not provide such with access to our private SGA sections. We also look at facts based on streamed evidence from the server(s) to the hub, rather than assumption based on a personal pov while on a given server. You are entitled to have your own opinions, absolutely. Perhaps with your first post, you should have simply worked on the delivery a bit more.

Can you provide us with the last 8 characters of his GUID?

Service Communication Failure: initialization failed
RoadWarrior replied to twoeyedjoe's topic in Call of Duty 4
Windows 7 or Vista? Try right-click game icon and select "run as administrator" or better, select properties and compatibility tab. Run backward compatibility mode to XP SP2 and put a check in the box "always run as administrator" then click apply and ok. Also, make sure your firewall is not blocking PnkBstrA.exe and PnkBstrB.exe as they need to be allowed processes. -
Once he's added he just needs to login to the AccCP for his gaming clan and he should be able to add his own GUID to his SGA profile there.

Ahh, I was referring to dedicated or rented servers. You're running a server off your local PC which may affect the outcome. I've never tried a spam.cfg from local-host before. It's the local-host issue that is likely causing your problem. Work-around would be to remove the config while gaming on other servers. Just slide it onto desktop and then back when you want to host again.
-
I take it you're running this config locally from your own game install? It should be run from your server's pb folder with a pb_sv_load with no brackets and then it will only show as a console message. It will also then not show on other servers when you play on one not your own. RW

870 Combat (shotty) Sniping across map?
RoadWarrior replied to Diskord's topic in Battlefield Bad Company 2
Slug shot wouldn't have spread anyways, but odd they wouldn't include spread in the dynamics of the game for regular shotgun shells. Not that slug from a shotgun should really have enough range to nail people across the map either.....  -
You'll have to ask These Guys as it's their ban.

Keygens are made from adding stolen keys to the given database, as a general rule of thumb. Malware/spyware/keyloggers are generally the culprit from which cd-keys and various other types of personal information are stolen. Credit card numbers, social insurance numbers, and so on, to list just a few that should be deemed a lot more important than any game key. There's lots of malicious people out there who want that sort of information for identity theft, and so on, the game key is just a bonus to them, as they can then re-sell them from nefarious game-key sites, or include them in a keygen with a hack they've created for sale, etc. I would honestly recommend a good clean format/re-install of the operating system at a time like this, as these pesky sorts of virii tend to hide in the darkest reaches of your computer, and are often hard to get rid of even with a root-kit scan. Your average spyware/malware scan and anti-virus are not likely going to be near enough.

From what I heard on the news, Dad was on break while the kid was on the mic.

Source Link New game set for 2011, Treyarch confirmed to develop title for 2010. by Jim Reilly March 2, 2010 - Activision has announced Sledgehammer Games, a newly formed studio led by former Visceral Games executives Glen A. Schofield and Michael Condrey, will develop a new Call of Duty title that will "extend the franchise into the action-adventure genre." The publisher also confirmed it will release another Call of Duty title in 2011, but it's unclear as of now if this is the same title Sledgehammer is currently developing. This leaves the door open for another studio, possibly Infinity Ward, to develop the 2011 title. We've asked Activision for clarification. The company also confirmed Treyarch is handling development on the Call of Duty title to be released this fall. Meanwhile, Infinity Ward is still set to develop and release the first two downloadable map packs for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. "2010 will be another important year for the Call of Duty franchise," stated Mike Griffith, President and CEO of Activision Publishing. "In addition to continued catalog sales, new downloadable content from Infinity Ward and a new Call of Duty release, we are excited about the opportunity to bring the franchise to new geographies, genres and players." Activision also says it's looking to expand the franchise with the same focus seen in its Blizzard Entertainment business. This includes looking at "high-margin digital online content" and taking the series to "new geographies, new genres and with new digital business models." The company has had "discussions with a select number of partners" to bring the franchise to Asia, one of the fastest growing online multiplayer regions.

Something's happening at Infinity Ward right now.

With any luck they fired the people who designed IW:Net :P -
My hat is off to you, man. It's nice to see proactive admin taking the time to audit their own clans, and keep them clean and tidy. Job well done. :)

A range-ban would work, but you'd end up killing off more of your player-base than it's worth most times. IP banning in today's age is pretty useless, really.
-
RconMax also has that feature, and is one of the nicer third party admin tools imo.

Clan account and server IP/port would help. -
The Cheat Police: An Impersonator Is Out There
RoadWarrior replied to UXO-VS- 's topic in Community News
He's referring to the registered name with evenbalance. Click Me! Works hand in hand with the following command. PB_SV_ProtectName [unique ID] [Registered Name] Protects the specified PunkBuster Registered Name on the local server so that players who wear the protected name without having the correct Registration Credentials will be removed from the server Incidently, this only works on servers that are set up to protect said name/tags. Just because he may have a tag registered doesn't mean it's protected on my server, for example. If I do not have the protect name setting for his particular name or tag, there's no effect on anyone cloning him. -
Try searching by player's GUID rather than by IP or name, since the latter two can cross many games and players, thus causing your search to time out. The GUID should be unique to the player unless his CD-Key has been leaked.

Also add a complete list of installed hardware and driver revisions along with operating system and a fairly detailed description including the exact kick error you're receiving. The more information you provide, the better they can help you.
