my server is not streaming.. why?
RoadWarrior replied to friscoassassin's topic in General Discussions
http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=registry.php If the server was added to your account, run the automated webtool from the above link to initiate streaming, and then your account should update automatically. Hopefully this is your fix, but if you need more help, feel free to jump on our IRC channel and grab an admin, or post back here with more questions. -
Holy thread-revival! :P Still, it was a great interview, and RB is still as out-standing as always. ;)

We do not ban for cookies on web-sites. We ban GUID's only. Your player is feeding you some false information. Provide us with his ban-link please.

And he'd have had to add the rectal-probe for himself, as well, I think. That guy needs any sexual release he can get, he's obviously not getting any online. ;) Perhaps the epitome of rejection, his own hand falls asleep while he jerks off. ;) Yup, I said that out loud! :P

One of these days I'm gonna have to wiki the term mental-midget. :P

Helpful is our aim, and our goal. We intend to always keep PBBans a user-friendly site, with support in any way we can offer it, via irc or forums. :) Glad you like it! :)

Not sure what your native language is, but we have more than a few staff onboard that speak various languages, and you could post in your own, if needed, and get a response, I'm pretty sure. We have most of the major ones covered, as well as various dialects and so on. Glad to see you posting, and we're happy to help out where we can. :)

My 8800GT OC2 constantly returns black shots, and some even come back as failed capture. Latest drivers, AA off, etc. Some driver revisions in the past returned clean shots, and then a new update would cause black/fail, next would be clean, etc. More of a driver issue than anything.
-
Curious. Do you have onboard sound? And if so, who's the onboard chip manufacturer? One of my clan-members was getting a similar error, and retarded as this sounds, simply pluging a mic into the mic-jack on your Realtek onboard sound chip can be a potential fix. Fixed my clan-member right up. He can play again.

He's likely on the wrong site. Not an SGA, here, not attributed to any clan that we can find, etc.... Claims false info, and likely is just as RB stated with his pic....a troll, looking for a reaction. Nothing more to be seen here, unless he includes some useful information, at best, this thread is good for a chuckle. One more village-idiot that wandered off, and I think another anti-cheat site is missing him, somehow, but that site will remain un-named at this point.... ;) We're still trying to locate the idiot, the site he belongs to won't be hard to find.

You can feel free to contact me anytime, via PM, as I work as one of our league co-ordinators. :) Rodeo Bob is the main one, but I help where-ever I can, and have no issue with answering any questions you may have now, or in the future. Streaming a server of your own would be a great first-step, how-ever. And one that I think is easy enough to do. Again, any help needed, just ask.
-
I have to add my thanks to all of you, who stream your servers here, and are also active on the forums. It wasn't so long ago, that I was a new SGA myself. I kept active on the forums, and noticed the super-friendly atmosphere. Unlike another site that I used to stream too. I will say I was pleasantly surprised, when I recieved a PM asking if I would be interested in being staff. One thing I know, from having accepted that task, is that while the task can be trying at times, I've found myself doing something that I find extremely worth-while, and enjoyable at the same time. I can also advocate, that without those of you that stream, none of this would be making even a small dent in cheating in online gaming. You all deserve a pat on the back for running the configs on your servers, and adding to the PBBans community. :) Keep up the good work, one and all!

I would have to wonder at getting a rude reply from staff here. First off, we make every possible effort to keep innocent players out of our MBi, secondly, the demo review process is not as simple as someone watching a demo. We have a very well thought out system that also incluces more than just one person reviewing it, and each person that is a demo reviewer watches it more than once. Notes are made, a second and third person may add their own. Only demo's submitted by SGA's are accepted, and have to include the pb connection logs from their server. We do not accept second-party demo's, such as those taken with FRAPS or xfire. They have to be valid, in-game demo's. While not always possible, we also try to attain screen shots for additional evidence. The process is anything but flawed, and the demo reviewers are very experienced. Perhaps pm an admin and send them the e-mail you say you recieved, along with posting the ban-link here.

all ports outside the range 9000-9050 from above post. They have that info, on-hand, I believe, if they look at how your server is set up. Might have to query the staff-member there that set it up personally. Check your initial e-mail response and who told you your server was set up for that info. Or just keep bumping the ticket until they push a little harder on their side of things.

The folder, from my own experience(although there's always room to learn something new ;) ) is that the folder being targetted is to be named pb in lower-case. In my own case, the pb folder was not even there, yet the server showed as running an old version of pb. The method I described above worked perfectly for me. I would simple create the pb folder from ftp, and then follow my directions above. You can always remove it if it is not your fix. Not sure about BF2 games, but for my ET and COD4 servers, both hosted at gameservers.com, in the mods section there is a button to update pb as well. Could give that a shot, as it should basically do the same thing. At the time when I had to manually install it, that button did not exist. Keep us informed. :)

As an added note to BF2 game-admin, this is why we, at PBBans, do not advocate a sharing of your personal ban/watch-lists. Just because you feel someone is hacking, and with no proof, ban them, that is up to you for your local server, not up to you and the BF2 community to share a ban-list that has no proof, and no real single, solid, valid reason to ban someone. Banning someone who is innocent until proven guilty is just that. Banning with solid evidence, that can be verified by SS, by streamed logs, and additional information is the only way to go. I played BF2 for a very short period of time, and personally, I never have run a server for it, so perhaps I do not see things quite the same way as you do. But I have versed up on it's various bugs, and have learned a lot about it by listening to those that have, past and present. You can't sit here and be hack-hunters, without realizing that you're still playing a game, and a game is supposed to be fun for you, as well, as admin. If you've found it isn't, my suggestion is simple. Find a game that is, and move on, or perhaps back down on the constant "This guy is a HACKER!" Threads that have no proof, no basis, and no grounds to even be in these forums, shy of STREAMED EVIDENCE! I'm not posting this to be rude to anyone, nor am I being condescending in nature, with it, but there is a process here, at PBBans, that needs to be worked with, and adhered to. We base bans on valid information, streamed to us, by your servers, pbss, etc, submitted by you. Not some random thread created that "so and so crashed my server", which related to an EA bug, or any of the various other EA-related bugs in the game. Other games have had/do have bugs in them too, that need to be patched by the DEV's themselves, and you're not alone in that field. What game dev's do with those bugs is not up to us, nor our responsibility. We deal strictly with cheats that can be detected, that we can get a grasp on, and break down. The process is well documented in all the game-related forums, public initial stickies, etc, and I suggest that anyone and everyone take a moment to re-read them, and work with them. We're here, to do our best to help you, and to help keep cheaters off your servers. But issues such as an EA patch that is needed is well past our control, and completely not the responsibility of PBBans, and as such, should be left off the PBBans forums so we can get on with what we do best. I hope all BF2 and any other BF-series game admin will read this, and appreciate the fact that while we do understand your frustration with the bugs in the games, we can't fix them, that's EA's responsibility. What we do, is add additional cheat-detections to your servers that you did not have with pb alone, and now you're better protected. That's what we do for all pb-related games. That's what we do best. Your co-operation is appreciated, and of course, we would not be here, without you, and thank you for your support of us.

It might depend on the host, but a ticket to them should get pb re-installed for you, or here's an alternate method that should work just fine. You'll need to create a few folders, first of all. In order: a folder named dll, a folder named svlogs, and a folder named svss. For now, leave these folders empty. Head over to this Link and download the following files. For the htm files, you'll that I left out of the list, create one on your desktop for ease of upload via ftp, and then right click on all of the htm files pertaining to Admin or Client. Ignore the one labelled Players, and choose Save Target As to the htm folder on your desktop. Download the latest pbsvnew.so (for linux servers) or pbsvnew.dll (for Windows servers), which-ever pertains to yours. Now, upload the whole htm folder, with the freshly downloaded htm files inside into your pb folder on the server, as well as the pbsvnew.so or .dll to just the pb folder itseld, outside of all the other folders. Login to rcon on your server, and type the command, /pb_sv_update and wait 90 seconds, then type /pb_sv_restart, wait 20 seconds, and then type /pb_sv_ver from rcon to make sure you're indeed running the latest version of pb. By doing the above, you should effectively be able to create all the needed files for pb to be running properly on your server. Give initiating streaming another try, and post back the results. Hope this helps. I've had to do this myself in the past with a similar issue on a server hosted by gameservers.com, and it worked just fine. The re-install idea was a good one sis. :)

Added, and welcome to the PBBans forums, and all that it is. Look forward to seeing you in IRC, as well as on the forums! :)

Just increase your time-limits a bit. start with 20 300 then move to 80 300 and so on. 40 seconds is theoretically enough, but I found my server rather "spammy" with them that close.

Happy to help, anytime. I had hoped pointing out the MCi would be just what you needed. :)
-
Hope the day has been awesome for ya, man! Happy Birthday!
-
First off, what game? Secondly, if you click the link to the MCi at the top of the forums, and then choose your game, you'll be able to download the checks we do have for your game, and then simply install the pbsvuser.cfg file into your server's pb directory. Once this is done, restart pb from rcon by logging in and then issue the /pb_sv_restart command. We can help you better, if you post your questions per-game in the game-specific areas, as well.
-
You need to stream your server here, and then produce the original pbss, without messing with it, and the connection logs. Without them, we can not acertain authenticity. You'll be able to see the private ss submission section once streaming is active. If your clan already streams, have a main admin add you to SGA, or have him submit the shot. Thread closed, no validity here.

Lost in game scrolling messages and rules on CoD4 Server.
RoadWarrior replied to CAPTAINMSKII's topic in Call of Duty 4
My suggestion is that you run MD5/Cvar scans from the pbsvuser.cfg file, run a seperate pbsv.cfg file for your basic pb-related commands. Both available from our MCi and run your srvrmsgs.cfg as a seperate cfg file as well. It may seem like this is untidy, but when it comes to searching out duplicate commands/entries, it makes it a lot easier to do so, as you can open them all and compare them side by side, line by line, should it need to be done. Likely, the second task empty command is in your pbsv.cfg file if you combined the MD5/Cvar scans into it. -
Wiping honest 4stars and leaving these alone
RoadWarrior replied to llamakiller4's topic in General Discussions
We do not wipe stats for anyone, here. That job belongs solely to EA themselves. We provide a privately run, non-profit anti-cheat group service to aid in keeping online game cheaters off punkbuster enabled games. Removing ranks, stats, or anything else EA-related needs to be dealt with directly with EA themselves. Server-admin need to employ the streaming services we provide for the anti-cheat to be functional, and as well, this is not a 100% guarantee that all cheaters will be caught. Anti-cheat is completely about reaction, as the cheats first need to be released, then attained, broken down, and detections added in order to have them dealt with.
