  1. Know this player, but I'd be willing to bet it's not a hack that's getting him in trouble, or kicked. Nothing related to pbbans at all, in fact. If you check his GUID, you'll find he's from France, and I've got members from France and French-speaking parts of Canada that can speak to him perfectly well in his own language. He always responds in perfect English?!?!? Anyways, he acts like an ass, tends to change his name to names that insult server-admin, and is generally a prick, verbally. Likely, he's getting kicked by server admin who have no more power than that, while main admin are away, and is now looking to lay it down here. He's been banned from WT servers for just that very thing, and I do have members who can translate his insulting names and language perfectly. I'd have to say do not waste your time with this, just ignore him. He's likely getting kicked by lower admin.
  2. LOL! In addition to his being banned, and since I'm not entirely heartless, I let him post on WT forums. He's now telling us just how hard of a time he's having of getting rid of all the phishing crap that came with said hack.
  3. Anti-lag only means so much, with ET and RTCW. It's a decent setting to have, for any game, but it will never make so much of a difference that a player won't lag if over a 150 ping. 150 is generally the limit, give or take a bit, for players to still be able to be accurate and not warp to much. If you see someone with a 300 ping getting high-accuracy, it's always worthy of a demo, especially if they can't be hit with the same accuracy.
  4. Account 435 Should be the last of our main admin to be added. And yes, I did ask him to sign up here. :)
  5. Apparently someone on my server "told" him it was ok to use a hack there..... Or at least that's how his story goes. I don't personally care what his excuse is. Stupid move on his part. :ban:
  6. Seems like the headache with PB is over, at least for now. They still haven't released a note on their website as to what happenned.
  7. http://www.war-torn.com/forums/viewtopic.p...&highlight= Figured the stupidity of it was worth it's own thread, and prolly should have made a sticky out of it with a better title. Until recently, this guy was a regular player, on our servers every single day. He decided to "test" one bot, and guess what the result was?   Then he comes begging in the shoutbox on the homepage.   Some ppl are really just to stupid for life.
  8. I aimed Overdose here, and to evenbalance.com as well, from my own forums. I was the one who searched his ban in the MBI, and he knows that I will also not remove his personal ban from our WT servers when it comes to an issue like this. Much as I like having skilled players on our servers, any violation that gets a player entered into the MBI has to go through the appropriate channels. Oddly enough, it's a brother-clan of ours who's server his GUID was banned on, and they also stream here. I know the PF crew pretty well, and they're also major advocates of streaming and anti-cheat. I wish you luck, Overdose, but follow the suggestions listed above, and see what the response is. That's all any of us can do for you at this point.
  9. I have screenshots turned off atm. I've always found them to be a source of server-lag, with Enemy Territory. Perhaps those were just my personal settings, but for now they remain that way. We tend to use the demo method for discussing potential hacks/bans with my clan, but now we also have the option of posting them here for further scrutiny. Incidently, all of my svlogs seem to be dated to two different dates, not each day, which is strange. Anyone have a tip on why that might be?
  10. I notice in the demo/ss submission area of the forums, that streaming admin are required to post the svlog in regards to the player in question. Yesterday I tried searching through these logs to find the specific player I was going to post a demo of, but could not seem to locate him. I used everything from GUID to his connecting name to the name he changed to after connection, as well as IP. The Windows(winblows) search feature came up with nothing. Is there another way of doing this without having to open each log-file? That's just way to time consuming. I did easily find him in the server logs, how-ever. Is that information good enough? Or does it have to specifically come from the svlogs? Anyways, as it turned out, the player has already been caught, but my ban-list was not auto-updating for some reason. Servers are still streaming, how-ever, so it's likely an issue on my server end of things. Will be working on resolving that today. I'm just looking for the answer for future potential demo's as the ability to post them is useful.
  11. The odd time a player can download a legitimate game file that has been poorly named(ie, given a hack-name) The onus then falls to that player to appeal his ban, and to provide the file to pbbans for examination. This in turn will help them improve the system. I'll give you one example. I had a player get banned by the config on my servers near the start of my clan's streaming. He then came to my forums and asked about it, and we pointed him in the right direction. Name of the file? **beep, teh censor**.pk3 Where did it come from? The **still its a hack name ;p** clan, and it was a campaign.pk3 file for one of their custom map rotations. They, as a clan, simply chose a very poor name for their file. The ban was lifted, btw, once the file was found to not be a cheat file. That would likely be the only instance I can think of where there's some potential for disagreement. You'd be surprised how many little custom pk3 files end up with a title like zzz.pk3, and similar in this game. Not all are hack-files. Again, if a player is banned, the onus falls on him to prove his innocence. The MD5 checks also look for parts of cheat-files, if I've learned this correctly. Some cheat-files leave behind "traces" of themselves, even once deleted, and the config checks for those traces as well.
  12. I'll verify this member as well. He's proven to be a very worthy admin, and a great asset to my clan.
  13. Thanks for the head's up. I'm downloading as I type.
  14. I think that actually becomes more a matter of preference. I found I had issues with rcon unlimited not working for various things. I've never had a problem with RconIT, how-ever, and I've used the beta and version 1.0. Regardless of that, both are quite useful.
  15. http://www.gamedesign-online.com/index.php?menu=RconIT I use this tool quite regularly to remotely admin my clan's servers, and didn't see it mentioned on the forums other than in one thread where a forum member briefly mentioned it. It allows you to connect to the server without having to be on the server, and saves you time by not having to constantly enter the rcon pass to run commands. It also allows you to broadcast messages to the server that players can see amongst other various useful things related to ET.
  16. I asked Kat to request as well, slowly getting my main admin onboard here, one at a time. I want them to be as active in anti-cheat as we can be, and I can't be around 100% of the time, but the more clan admin I have involved, the more damage we can do against the hackers. My feelings. Keep beating them down, one at a time, what-ever it takes. RoadWarrior
  17. Thanks again. :)
  18. I asked Chumba to post, he runs one of our three servers and I figure main admin for my clan should be as involved as possible with pbbans. I'd appreciate it if he were added to the WT- account. Thanks
  19. My favorite saying, so chuckle as you wish. Mistakes will be made, people will be blamed. It happens, and the ever pro-active pbbans crew took it in stride and fixed it. Can't complain about that, thanks again guys, for your efforts in making our gaming experience that much better!
  20. Might want to check the map you're having issues with, and see if the MD5 on the server matches the MD5 on the re-direct. I've found pk3 files can sometimes go "bad" on a server, and simply need to be re-uploaded to the server ftp. More often than not, this is an issue from loading up to a Linux server from a Windows computer, and believe it or not, the second time can be the charm. Alternately, try removing the problematic map from the rotation, and see if the rest of the maps in the rotation work with the custom soundspack. Some custom maps come with one of their own, and may conflict with yours.
  21. PsB is not bad, but not the way to go, imo. I can still post on their forums, but I no longer use their configs, for a reason. If someone wants to talk to me about that, pm me.I refuse to do anything more or less here. One thing I'm about is anti-cheat, won't work against it.
  22. Thanks, the two Easy/eazy names are different guys, actually, but both are core-admin in my clan. Thanks again.
  23. I'll verify this one. EaZy is my right-hand admin, and one that I definitely want in, here. He handles things when I can't be around, on the servers. A crucial part of my team, to say the least.
  24. To catch a spec-alert, it's better to spec the person via free-look. The way I have my servers set, the player-names show above their heads in free-look mode, so you can literally find them on the map and just follow them, without actually spectating them directly. Demo them this way, then have someone spec that individual, and see how they react. That's really about the only possible way to catch them if they have a spec-alert, and to be able to prove it. Worth grabbing about 5 minutes or so of demo, if possible, though.
  25. You guys must have your own forums, and I would think this to be a matter of importance. Perhaps posting the question there would help? Find out who IS in charge, and get them on this matter. Bunker servers have been around for as long as I can remember, and while I haven't visited lately, they were always a great place to frag. It would be a shame to see hackers getting away with things on them. Alternately, I would more than be willing to help, you can pm me the info, and I will gladly forward it to pbbans admin, with a link to this thread. How-ever, more evidence is usually required than just a suggestion, so it may be of little use to them. If the admin that manually added the ban to shrubbot can do so, one would think he'd have access to rcon, as sifting through server logs means he has ftp access, therefore has access to the server.cfg file, which contains the rcon pass. He should be able to pb-ban this individual, as well as grab screen-shots, etc.
