If your servers are streaming, get your Admin to pm the info to the appropriate people here. I would also suggest a demo of this individual would be of use, as it may shed some light on what he's really doing. If possible, also get your admin to send some screen-shots of the individual as well.

You don't really have to be able to write a config script these days. Google will net you a half-dozen or more hits on just that topic alone. On my forums, there's an entire section devoted to scripting tweaks for the game. All you have to do is be able to copy and paste, to insert any single one of them into your config, or create an autoexec.cfg. Bearing in mind, not all scripts work with all mods. Most of them are designed around the etpro cvars, and certain cvars won't work with etpub, or noquarter, or jaymod, so more often than not, the scripts need to be tweaked to work with a given mod. I personally don't consider scripting to be a cheat. If someone is smart enough to figure out how to make something easier by altering their game config, so be it, providing the cvar changes fall within the range allowed by punkbuster and pbbans. If someone gets banned from my servers as a result of taking it to far, that's their problem.

I would tell who-ever your server admin are to get streaming, first of all. At least suggest it. The streaming configs that pbbans puts up are very thorough, and while new cheats come out everyday, so do new ways to catch them. PM one of the site-admin here with the GUID, and also recommend to your server-admin to find the IP of the player and to a pb-ban-mask on the player. GUID's are easy enough to replace, but putting a ban on his actual IP with a range is a bit more successful. An example ban 69.65.31.* using * as a wild-card to take the place of any number. The last octet of an IP is usually the one that gets replaced when a player tries to change their IP address. This doesn't always hold true, but generally it's a successful way to ban someone.

I'm with you. I play with the stock config, save adding a few binds like /kill These guys that just have to mess with FOV and mouse sense other than what the game settings allow always find I can still put up stiff competition for them. Feels good to know that I'm not the only old-schooler out there.

Scripts are allowed, as long as they do not go out-side of the anti-cheat config cvar ranges, and pb's cvar ranges. A 180 script is of little use anyways, more often than not, it just screws up your aim. As far as I know, the 180 script is not considered a cheat, but I don't have the final word on that.

I recommended the site to her, still talk to her here and there. The more ppl streaming, the more the game improves for all of us.

You have me curious, sorry if this is off-topic. Ever belonged to |RaR| in the past? If you're the same guy, get a hold of me on xfire, wartornclan is the handle. Formerly |RaR|Roadie, or a version of.

I used to stream to PsB, and found their configs caused a lot of lag-issues with my servers. Not saying that what they do is wrong...ANY anti-cheat config is better than nothing! Pbbans has given me a config that works, and it's proving itself every day. I have it running, on 4 servers. No lag, and it catches a lot of what myself and other admin really should not have to police in the first place. I highly recommend you start streaming, and get your servers on-board.

You can use a fair number of things related to etpub in the nq shrubbot, since the mod was initially designed around etpub 5.0 The wiki is pretty well written, and the list of flags, instructions on how to implement them are pretty thorough, as well. The et_adminmod also works, but is a little more involved in set-up than the native support is, and I don't personally see a need to use an out-side mod for nq when the built-in one works as well as it does.

That could be nothing more than a driver issue with the video card. It's not showing anything through walls, or giving him some sort of aim-advantage, from what I can see. It's just an odd-ity. I wasn't looking at the bigger, more blurry white dot, since I see things like that on my screen all the time, while playing. They're an annoyance, not a help.
-
If you need any help, I'd be happy to, but it'd be easier to do via xfire, as I'd be doing it in real-time. Wartornclan is my handle, feel free to add me. Sorry my above post was so vague, but if you've got a handle on et_admin, you should be able to figure out native shrubbot support without much trouble, just that some of the flags are different, and it allows for custom commands, as well.

The white dot is his cross-hairs. Mine's red, as it shows on most maps perfectly, but I also run a config to change it on the fly, should the colors on the map not be compatible with it. Your aim improves by using a small dot, and getting rid of the pulse. All done in game-properties. Nothing to ban there.

Just goes to show you that some people can't even buy skills..... :P

He's one of my server admin, and I figured it would be a good idea to have more than one of us kicking around in case something new comes up. I can't check all the forums all of the time, so having a back-up or two is always helpful.

NQ comes with it's own built in shrubbot support. Read the NQ wiki to see how to set that up. http://shitstorm.org/noquarter/wiki/index.php?title=Shrubbot

2 cents per ban could make us all rich enough to ban all the hackers that paid for a hack we can't detect. I'd be down with that, and will offer my 2 cents here and there if it will contribute to such. ;) On a serious note, I do think that all bans the configs make should be appealed. I've questioned a few, but took a good look at the greater good they do. If a player does not find my site, and it's google-able, and they do not appeal, so be it. There are other players willing to fill the slots, so does it matter so much? If they missed the banners on the server prior to my running the configs from pbbans, so be it. Now they will have to google if they want to play, or figure it out for themselves. Make them appeal, it will only add to pbban's knowledge of certain files, and the ability for them to create configs for us that work that much better. If pbbans finds something that doesn't work, again, it adds to their knowledge, and they can update accordingly. Help them out by playing team on this.
-
I've personally posted on my own forums, which have always been bannered on my ET servers, that ppl appeal their bans, if banned by the configs. I won't personally remove them. My stance on things, and maybe not all bans are justified. So far, two have appealed, one has been removed. The one that was not was banned for a file even TWL bans for, and has in thier competition configs as a bannable file to have. I researched it, and had no questions when the ban appeal was denied. Just my two cents.

I think it means you need to start streaming here, and put up the pbbans configs. They run the best, from what I've seen, and catch the most hackers. I've tried others in the past, not knocking them(nameless) but this has been the most helpful and most useful anti-cheat site I've come accross to date.

Curious, did you buy the game used? If so, the person who "sold" it to the store you bought it from could have a burned copy, and be using the same cd-key since they prolly copied it down. One of my biggest issues with CoD series games was the lack of support from day one from PB, and it took them for-ever to get on-board. CoD2 comes to mind especially, since the game was out at least 6-8 months before PB even supported it, and by then the hacks were running rampant. They're still playing catch-up with that game. You might want to contact UbiSoft, the creators, and get a new CD-Key given to you, but have your proof of purchase and reciept number, and possible store purchased at name standing by, to give them as much info as possible.

Forced fov?

You're right, sorry. I just took a look at my configs, and realized that your config does not set this to those settings, it's my addition settings that do. I try to run a pretty tight server, though, and your settings have been a great addition to them. I'll have to check where I got that cvar setting from, but I believe from PsB's cvar settings, come to think of it. Still, an acceptable range, imo, as Fov could be unlimited, but while it makes your screen look rather odd, given it's ability to be toggled to a key for rapid-change, could be considered a "hack" by some, and some "hack" programs allow for such options, as well. I'll keep this limitation, until someone can prove to me why I should not. -
I work with a guy who has a similar attitude. I can commend pbbans for thier efforts in keeping this site well run, and losing the boat-anchor. It only takes one negative individual who wants everything, but is willing to contribute little or nothing to it to drag it down to the depths of darkness. A positive attitude, willingness to help others, and being a team-player will always prevail, and it's funny how it works out in the end, with helping others out, you seem to get help back. Open a few doors for yourself by being "that guy that can listen and learn, but also offer help with what he's learned to new-comers" and you find yourself with a team that just wants to help you and others more. Be "that guy who only wants to help himself, and could give a rat's ass about anyone else", and you find yourself looking in through the big-picture window, and wondering why you got left out in the cold.

Forced fov?
RoadWarrior replied to ***Agent Smoke's topic in Streaming Questions and Troubleshooting
It will depend on the game. I play and run servers for Enemy Territory, which is Q3 based. I limit Fov to in 90 120 so min range is 90, max is 120, which is considered reasonable, and the config that was provided by pbbans allows it as their setting to begin with. Most settings outside of this range allow for to much of an advantage to individuals, as you can put Fov onto a toggle with Q3 based games, and toggle it for given in-game situations to provide better aim at close-range, closed quarter-combat vs long-range, open field combat. -

You would also have to find the appropriate cvar setting within the hub config and make the range-changes there as well. I had some issues with ET and people being kicked because the cvar rate was limited to in 50 100 and people who commonly use 30(well used and most common setting) were getting kicked off the server, not banned. I simply made the alteration, since rate is not a cheat-issue, just a download/server-connection issue. Just make sure that if you do alter a cvar, that it is well within range of anti-cheat specifications. If you are in doubt, post in one of the private sections here and ask first. Admin here are pretty pro-active, and there are others that carry a fair bit of knowledge and have helpful information as well. You'll get an answer pretty quickly. -
As a relatively new member to PBBans, I already seem to have access to the lists you've requested. It does require that you search the player out by inputting certain information, but the option is there. You can also generate and download a current list of bans for the particular game of your choice, as well.

I've checked, and all 4 are currently streaming, so we're good to go here. :)
