RO was a really good game; heck we competed in it for over a year. The custom content done by the community was extensive and yes it was secured by VAC. There were always a few extra special people and they either got a local ban or VAC eventually caught up with them. It looks like version 2 will be a heck of a game as long as they don't stray too far from their roots. Hopefully it will be as good as or better than the original although the game did die in popularity after a few years.

Fozzer that was an excellent post. I sincerely doubt that I will drop any cash for this game since I just don't see it becoming something our community can stand behind. In past days, months, and years I would have posted some irate and angry post about my disappointment but since the past few games have been released I just don't seem to care. I spend most of my time either playing some ancient game like Battlefield Vietnam or occasionally AA 2.8.5. I can even be found playing a few Steam related games like Train Sims and Left For Dead 2. In all cases it is coop as then I don't feel cheated after dying at the hands a "bot" in one fashion or another. I used to live to play AA back in the day. I have become so disenchanted with the whole gaming situation, attitudes of the game makers, and 10 year old players that it really is more irritating than anything; I play to relax and not get pissed off in the first 10 seconds of playing. I can't seem to find that anymore in the new games and since BO appears to be following the lead of MW2 it seems as though there is little hope for the future.

I am sure the powers that be will make a decision on that. For myself I can understand your point of view but also take great offense from threats. Sometimes the typed word is not how we mean to express things and although you did remove your servers I suspect it was a moment of intoxication or a bad day. Whatever the end result you are showing maturity and respect at this point. Hope your future endeavors lead you to where you wish to be.

Yea but I am sure those MW2 "boycotters" will just jump on this as it is a really good game... :lol: Stupid is as stupid does and history will continue to repeat itself. The spin any game creator puts into the media is purely for sales, and obviously money. I don't want to cut down Kalms that has been here regarding BFBC2 but it is so far from the BF I remember and so close to the COD you can buy your way to a win with gimme more money if you want more content attitude that it makes me sick. MOH is going down the same path. I have no respect for the console porting crap any further and it isn't gonna change.

Had a great time playing this mod before and even though there don't seem to be many playing it it was fun with our group. :)

Have not preordered and don't intend to until it is a proven game. They may be making money but it won't be mine for now.

We are not with them and have not been in a very long time. Servers are overloaded, they cannot setup a BFV server if their lives depended on it, and the list goes on. Just the way it is I suppose but no more for us.

Maybe yet there is some hope for online gaming? :unsure:

Any word if this works in multiplayer?

Sadly it seems the new form of expression. We have seen that a lot over the past couple years in most games and its usually a player that is under 15. Some so called adults are that way as well. We shall see if the pendulum starts to swing the other way any time soon...

I gave up posting about shitty games some time ago. I ended up looking like a fool because of it but I can tell you that in all this time I still have not opted for MW2 and never will. The games are going to have to improve significantly before I ever consider another purchase. As it is I have purchased many a Steam game, the ones on sale that you can create custom maps and content. I usually end up laughing at the end since I don't see them as any type of tactical game. Coming from old school AA and then seeing what the gaming world has become it actually breaks my heart. I remember the old days and I know that "progress" happens but I spend more time in a few older games than in all the new ones combined. Sometimes its hard for us old timers to move on but I guess this is the direction things are heading. A new generation as it were... :(

I have loved the demo of the game but runs so bad for me I cannot really enjoy it. Its my system so maybe its time to build another system. This one is single core but has an excellent video card. Was built for AA years ago and ran fantastic but is far behind the times; give me a reason to upgrade... Something other than shitty console ports and I will spend some cash. ;)

True and from what I have been seeing here and in other locations it seems that is the norm now. I am not really sure where things changed or even when but IMO things have gone down hill on every game release and the consoles win. It is a damn shame that standards and integrity went out the window in recent time but as we all know its about the money and nothing more. Its all about ranks, perks, weapons, etc as the list goes on and on. I will sit back and watch this one but have little interest in a purchase unless something is going to prove my opinions wrong and I don't see that is what will happen. To each their own.

Taz they simply could care less. Money talks and BS walks. The developers steal what they can and then move on using the community efforts to further their own positions. No more for me as I have had enough. I will stick with what I have and won't offer up my true feelings.

Easy game if you have the mind for it. Not one to be playing when you have had a few. Love the game and completed it; A bit upset that it was free since I payed for the game but hey why not test it out.

I am afraid I will be right there with you the way things are. Sadly; we have been running Steam servers for various games these days and don't have issues filling them. Sure we run into the occasional fool but overall those that frequent the servers have been great and deal with the occasional jerk. The last few games we have hoped to host and create a good gaming environment have been nothing but a disappointment to say the least. From my standpoint the player-base at large is a totally different breed than when we started. Call it evolution or whatever you like but it is nothing like it used to be. I like to be a part of the SGA community as it gives a lot of insight in day to day things and operations. Still I can see where there has been a divide and we old players are steadily heading out to deal with other issues not related to gaming. A break? Not sure on that for us. It may be more permanent than that but that is the way it is.
