Tim, as a member of our streaming admin group your entitled to point out anything that concerns you, we provide a service and the customers who use that service are in the best position to point out anything that they perceive as a problem .. any comments from our forum users are welcome (particularly from our premium forum members) .. by premium forum members i am talking about each and every one of you guys that has taken the time and trouble to stream your servers to PBBans .. we are always looking for ways to improve the forums and the services we provide and i would hope that all premium members especially, would post any suggestions without any intimidatory fears in the back of their mind :)

(I.C.E) AcE .. dont know what game you got sitting on the shelf m8 but ET aint got big scary skeletons :P RTCW has .. both fine games although the RTCW scene has dwindled somewhat since it won game of the year when released .. ET is a free download and also a class game ..so now you got another 2 games to play online :)

re snowball .. doesn't matter to me if its a member / streaming admin or staff member .. if you use a proxy to register your forum account to deliberately hide 2 IP linked hack convictions (one was an exact match) then that person will end up on the convicted cheaters list .. if he had been honest right at the start he would not have had his forum account validated because of those cheat convictions .. i'm always saying this because i believe its true .. our integrity is paramount and i will not stand for anyone who compromises it

pm'd me too saying someone called garbage dingo deleted his account :) dont worry m8 i put him straight .. we are here to assist anyone with pb probs and help server admins to run as cheat free a server as we can make it .. we are not here to facilitate anyone who posts unproven acusations against a player or clan .. its that simple :) anyone who thinks that they can post an unproven allegation anywhere on these boards will find themselves out on their ear pretty damn fast .. its also that simple :)

hi 509th Jazz and welcome to our boards :) take a look in your pbsv.cfg and look for this setting: pb_sv_extchar PB_SV_ExtChar [0/1] The default setting of 0 tells PunkBuster to disallow extended ASCII Characters in player names; for the purposes of this command, characters that cannot be easily entered with simple keystrokes are considered extended so if you want to allow this clan on your server with «» in their clantag ..a setting of pb_sv_extchar 1 should be applied :) hope this helps ya out

immaturity and a need to be in the spotlight springs to mind .. the last 3 people who posted something like this were added to the banlist on the next parser run :) turns out they knew they had been caught hacking and tried to get their revenge by casting doubts on a clans integrity .. he must never have heard of streamed logs lol

hi M8DPINO, The best way to protect your server and create a gaming environment that is as cheat free as we can make it,is to stream to the PBBans EvenBalance repository server and use the recommended cvars/md5's contained in our Master Config Index (MCI) .. this will ensure that anyone using hacks on your server will be added to the PBBans Master Ban Index (MBI) in very short time :) If the server you were playing on is not yours the best you can do is provide the server admin with as much info as you can and hope he is proactive enough to care and make a difference .. you might also want to point him in this direction so he can get his server PBBans protected

Hi m8, at this current moment in time you can stream to only one repository at a time,but, there is nothing to stop you integrating bans from other sites to your pbbans.dat .. i do it myself and if anyone queries a ban from another anti-cheat site i just point em in the right direction on how to appeal it :)

streaming game admin status is for those game admins who actually stream a server to us :) nothing mysterious in that :P **edit** i see its our turn for the AA stream .. will upgrade again first thing tomorrow

every Jolt server i have access to is linux and the rtcw ones i stream have no issues what so ever .. when you say the server lags out and crashes .. does this happen at the same time every night .. a lot of GSP's run a crontab script that shuts the server down and restarts it at selected times (i know mine do) this takes all of 2 mins and ensures a nice smooth game for the other 23hrs 58mins of the day :P

obviously things had to be checked out before any ban removal was considered .. they have now been checked out and the ban removed

theres a lot of pbss blockers about and give various results from all black to shots of the sky etc etc .. most are detected and those that are caught will invariably end up with a hardware ban .. its very hard to prove a blocker is in use thats why its important to keep up to speed with the cvars/md5's that are added to your game MCI as we get them :) the svss folder in the pb directory is were your pbss are stored .. have you got PB_SV_AutoSs 1 in your pbsv.cfg ?

irc is fussy about certain characters in names .. try a nice simple one like roof :)

the pb folder you need to access is probably hidden .. this is sof2 specific but applies to most Q3 engine games; http://www.sof2.jolt.co.uk/index.php?page=ftp.php and just coz i'm curious .. how did you access the pbss of the 2 hackers on your server ?

once streaming kicks in everything runs pretty much in auto mode :) as new hacks are made public we collect/dissect and add the relevant cvars/md5's to our bannable list .. anyone who picks up a hack related violation will be added to the MBI .. if your using JPAT or PAT the process of keeping your cvar/md5 info on your server up to date is done auto .. if your like me and prefer the hands on approach :) (some of us are old and set in our ways) you will need to keep an eye on our Master Config Index for your particular game and update accordingly .. the one thing that you need to check manually on a daily basis is your pbss ... if you run a fairly busy server,daily is the best option,if you find something anything like the 2 pbss you posted just use the link Tim posted to submit them and we will review them and add to the MBI, anything your unsure of just post it on the forum and we will do our best to answer :smooth:

first of all let me say welcome aboard :) i'll try to explain the screenshot situation ... every ban we add to the Master Ban Index (MBI) is backed up by proof from streamed logs, this is not PBBans saying "fook you because you dont stream" :) its to protect the submitting server admin from being accused of framing someone with a faked screenshot .. this has happened in the past by less reputable admins and some of the fakes even made it past the screening process we run to see if the screenshot has been altered in any way .. so, to completely remove any element of doubt the server must be streaming when the screenshot was taken ... part of the submission process is to attach the log that contains the relevant information from your server and this is cross checked with the streamed log to give the ban 100% integrity. I hope i have explained it well enough for you to understand :) its a steep learning curve keeping a server as hack free as possible and we will assist you in any way we can to make it so, but we insist that every ban that makes it to the MBI has that 100% stamp of approval and i think all of our streaming admins would agree with that stance. if those 2 players you caught are still playing and using their hacks then its only a matter of time before they end up on our MBI or better still hardware banned :D give the admins of the servers they play on now, our web address and maybe they can join the party too :P

a canadian who would definitely have made it to the PBBans master ban index had all stars been streaming to us :)

For anyone that wants to use teamspeak for any issues you want to discuss or just hang out with others .. the IP is: TeamSpeak 3 - ts.pbbans.com:9987 TeamSpeak 2 - ts.pbbans.com:8767 this new ip is reflected in the welcome message we give to everyone who gets their account validated when registering on the PBBans forum and obviously is a change from the old one we used to have :) The trick is finding an admin on at the time you connect lol :P
